  1. Yea too bad our media doesnt play that on the headlines I guess it is not politically correct
  2. Knowledge is powerful, even what we dont wont to know, someday you will look back or be discussing religions with someone and will be prepared to input what you have learned....And in your case from both sides of the isle versus one view....Also history repeats itself, and knowledge helps us understand when it happens....
  3. Hey listen to what this lady is saying on Arabic TV....She is certainly a brave soul god bless her...open link http://switch3.castup.net/cunet/gm.asp?ai=...0wmv&ak=nul
  4. Wow...... I don't know what to say. I'm completely shocked that you wern't told that your "vacation" was actually a move. Maybe it's a cultural thing where your parents decided not to tell you & something they expected you to do after high school?? I just am wondering why I guess. You were so excited about college, not getting to say good-bye to your friends, not seeing Alex again..... wow. So are you going to be pulling out of FSU to go somewhere else? Good news about Alex knowing - now your heart can be free of the "what-if", especially since you kinda live far apart now. Are your parents going to be sending your stuff to you at least? I know you're mad, but are you ok with living over there permanently (at least for now). Do you think you'll return to CA ever? I too am in shock, where in the phillippines are you. I visisted subic bay (old navy days) and yes it is beautiful, but very humid. I flew into what was Clark AFB and took the country trip...I am still amazed at what has happened, I know your family culture is very different, but at least they should have given you a heads up....Please continue your post, I have enjoyed your saga, brings back the younger days in us old folks. Good luck and send some pictures of the area would be interesting to see the changes from the 70's to now....
  5. A big thank you and glad to hear the servo motor was covered, sounds like something in the air condition/heating area, oh well who cares.....
  6. West, best case scenario your coolent should be replaced at 100k or 5 years. It is possible that its properties for preventing higher temperatures has broke down. Because of this it is expanding when reaching higher temps and causing what you are experiencing. If it were me I would do a coolent change with the non silicate 5 year long life red fluid (toyota or aftermarket) and see if it makes a difference. I know mine is do again, and I am thinking of change hoses as well as the radiator cap. I just read some write ups on coolents, and The Red high life fluid is what was put in our Lexus RX300...
  7. What the heck SERVO Motor are they talking about???? Never heard of a servo motor in the tranny, they are trying to squeeze $950 out of you for double talking you.... Please find out specifically what they are talking about and repost. They are duping you and recovering the labor cost of replacing the tranny..... And yes they should replace it on warranty, you dont even have 60k miles on it.... Good luck and keep us informed... Please also file a complaint with the NHTS board online to add to the complaints of early failure, just dont tell the dealer until your work is done or dont tell them either way....
  8. Sounds like the door lock assembly.....$250 for the part.....Labor I dont know.... I changed mine myself was tricky finding the hidden screws under the switch plate, but after that went smooth....
  9. Antifreeze is contaminated with metal breakdown, and constant heating and cooling. Though it be a closed system there is still the formation of rust in the engine block.... I am mystified by your increase in coolent unless the radiator is clogging and there is less volume in the radiator for the coolent to flow therefore more in the expansion tank... Only thing I can think of at the moment unless a engine passageway is blocked. Possible there is a overheating condition that the temp gauge is not seeing or your wife didnt notice...good luck West.
  10. Is it possible that someone overfilled it? Mine when cold is down at the min mark, and hot moves upward. If it were overfilled it could goe past the max and out the overflow. By the way I think it is time to have it changed. The Antifreeze is only good for 5 years max.....
  11. I wonder if it still has the fire starting brake switch in it? Ford engineers have their heads up their $#$!@. Switches that cause fires, spark plugs that blow through the hoods, spark plugs that cant be removed.....brake disks that wear out in 7k miles.....that is their biggest challenge....poor quality and lack of concern....
  12. They are pricey, $256 at Lexus, labor not included.....
  13. Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate it. Did you actually do the work yourself, take it to a dealership, or a private shop? Just wondering what people are doing here. Also does anyone know if Akebono provides the OEM pads to Lexus or is it a different manufacterer? I actually did the work myself, It is really quite easy, however I have been working on cars a long time as a hobby and to survive while raising three kids. By the way the Akebono pads have already gone 70k miles so far, and the Brembo disks are looking great....
  14. look at this link on other site, I did it and it works.....http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215793&highlight=ipod+for+RX300 the only downside is the volume on the IPOD has to be turned up about 75% , but otherwise it is crystal clear and hardwired....
  15. Magnussens toyota in Sacramento did it for $510 in this area, that was timing belt and waterpump.....
  16. The swishing sound sounds bad to me, Good shocks dont do that, I would have gone with KYB shocks personally, I put them on my RX300 and they are great...
  17. Bank 1 is on the firewall side of the engine, not the radiator....
  18. go to Tirerack.com they have BREMBO rotors for less and Akebono pads. great combination, I would only replace the front rotors and all brake pads (front and rear) and then you are good to go..
  19. Design problem definetly, and maintenance done by Lexus, and not put in writing about the 15k changes of fluid....however recommended by the stealerships..... Poor design, tranny cooler in wheel well, too much load on the camry tranny....
  20. Thank you for your input, and I will add you to my list of 37 other tranny failures. Good luck, and I hope you get the $1000, but you made out better than the others on my list...
  21. if you mean it is falling down, or is the mounting hardware loose. Mine the hardware was loose and yes you can tighten that....
  22. I believe he was banned....as I remember, when he slammed some of our veterans serving our country (good job removing him and his obsurb ideas)
  23. Go to tirerack.com and get Brembo rotors for less than $65 apiece. Try the Akebono ceramic brake pads and you will be very happy. Make sure the mechanic hand torques the wheels when reinstalling them. Using a air wrench warps more rotors than you can believe. Total for parts should be less than $300 if you want to do front and rear. suggest just front and new pads for the rear.
  24. found this for reference http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rx300how2/xm...uid_change1.htm Gives you an idea of the ease of changing fluid, Sorry it is an RX but should be similar.....good luck
  25. Yes the clutches do go bad, It is worth a try, and see if the compressor is is good.
