  1. Sounds like a good idea. Hey maybe it will fit into my Race schedule.
  2. Clarion and Alpine are really nice, but I'm with SouthernSC300, and go with a flushmount Touchscreen Kenwood, with Navi, changers(CD and DVD) in the trunk. Off course this is an expensive option, but sometimes you have to go all out, expecailly if you have to commute to work like I do.
  3. Not sure why your Trac is off. Most likely the Code 28 which is the "Main Heated O2 Sensor Circuit-Right" Trouble Area: -open or short in heater circuit of main heated o2 sensor-Right -main heated o2 sensor(right) circuit -main heated o2 sensor(right) voltage alternating above and below 0.45 volts. When was the last time you changed your coolant? Code 25 could also be the problem. I would recommend replacing all of your o2 sensors. Yes they are expensive, but it is likely going to solve the problem. I might be able to get the 02 sensors cheaper, since I have to buy a set as well (experiencing the same problem Codes 32 and 25).
  4. Same here. I like the comment. I've done some additional research on this subject. Going Red is best because of silocate which will prevent build-up. I am withdrawing my previous statement of sticking with Green with Distilled water will do the job. :cries:
  5. that sounds about right. Chips: Providing you don't have any other A/C related problems (i.e compressor etc) you should be able to buy a kit from a retailer.
  6. unfortunately, I don't have the electrical book. Why don't you start with the fuse box on the drivers side. go through them and look for a broken one. If non of them are, you may need to troubleshoot.

  8. The Uk Forum is on the primary website. Sorry for the delay. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php
  9. As far as I know, the SC400 was made for the US, some European and Australian Markets. Non have offered a 5speed option, but I have come across some people who have made a custom 6speed for the SC4.
  10. Have you tried our Esteemed Authorised Traders, MrSypher, Lextasy and so on. Private Message them, and I'm sure they'll help you out. Alex (jdmparts_guru) Jason (JPI) Mike (MrSypher) Steve (steve@lextasy.com)
  11. You're missing something. TURBO, TURBO, TURBO
  12. Same here. THat is awfully high for a person with your record. When I 16, my dad was paying $1800 for two cars, three drivers including me(worst client ever). If your dad is a member of the military or a member of a credit union, he should look into GEICO, Progressive and Liberty Mutual. Surprisingly, Liberty Mutual is offering me the best value compared to GEICO. It wouldn't hurt to take a Defensive Driving Course either. Reduces your insurance rate.
  13. dmurphy Writes: "I am having the same power loss problem with a 94 SC 400 and have also been I have a leaky power steering pump. My dealer can't find the problem either. You previous responses don't to address the problem. Have you been able to find a solution? I'll let you know if I do. Email me at dmurphy.cox.net." 14. I had that problem a few times, when I was driving my LS and all of a sudden the car shut down and the turned back on within a few seconds. I also remember I was reading the codes and I used the engine fuse to reset the ECU. First look out for any wires or paper-clips sticking out of the diagnostic ports--engine and the drivers-side kicker panel. Then open up the engine fuse-box and look for the fuse marked "TEL"; Remove and check the line inside just to make sure it isn't broken or thin. Replacing it won't hurt either. Return it to the same port, and seat it firmly. Hopefully that should take care of the problem. It is possible that the alternator has some PSF-residue on it, and it needs to burn-off. Let some time pass, and see if the problem takes care of itself.
  15. Wait a minute, K&N doesn't make kits for any car. Who made the kit?
  16. Okay, I returning back to our original topic. I have an Air Compressor in my garage, but lately I haven't needed to use it since I starting working at a dealership.
  17. I have to agree with some of the other members... A little too agressive. I would've gone with something a little closed, like on the 03-04 LS have or something from Carlsons. I guess when I have some money, I'll post some pics.
  18. New Member "mrybkr" Writes: "Hi there...I am also a new member as well as a new owner of an SC430...altho mine is a "pre-owned" 2002....but I love it!!! I would like to find info on upgrading the sound system, so if anybody out here has added or changed out there sound system...please let me know. It is kind of hard to hear the music when you're going down the xpressways at 90+...." 19. Head Unit for what? Also, check out the FAQ and Audio Section Pinned in this Forum. There are some sites you look at.
  20. Thanks Blake. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they have any SC parts. I've dealt with car-parts.com in the past. My experience wasn't that great.
  21. Has anybody installed the Raybestos on their LS, and how long has it been since you've purchased/installed/used them? My biggest concern is brake noise and brake fade Aftermarket brake rotors and pads from Midas can be very noisy and crappy.
  22. Yeah, that's an awesome deal. BTW this company in AK, would you mind sharing their name with some of us? I know I'm looking to buy some used parts for my SC, and I'm hoping to get it cheap.
  23. To me it's a tough call. Both MB and Lexus are extremely well built cars, and they're both expensive, but I would go with the Lex. I'm not that big of a Benz fan anymore.
  24. Birger Writes: "Hi I own a 1996 LS400 for about a 1 1/2 year and all I use is 87 octane, I get about 18.7 miles per gallon in city, on the hwy I get 25.8 miles per gallon and I allways use the cruse control. I would tell you to go ahead and use the 87 octane as long as you don't hear any ping in the engine. Birger" AND "Hi I forgot to tell you that I have 111.536 miles on my 1996 LS400 and still using only regular gasoline with no troubles. Birger".
