  1. Hey everyone… Quick question about a 1993 LS400’s factory installed alarm system. It’s an AUTO-MATE 6, by Directed Electronics. It was valet parked the other day, and I noticed when I got home that the siren didn’t chirp when I locked it. Sometimes I accidentally hit the second button before the first and it silences it for that single command, but I couldn’t get it to chirp at all. I armed and disarmed it a bunch of times but no sound. The lights flashed accordingly, and my doors lock and unlock, but it won’t chirp. I know the alarm is disabling the ignition because I tested it. I armed it and opened the door through an open window. The lights started flashing like it was set off, but no siren. I tried starting it with the key, but she didn’t respond. I have the worthless 6 page manual that came with it, but all it says is that there is a way to bypass the arming and disarming chirps permanently, but nothing about how to do it. Also, it doesn’t mention anything about silencing the alarm sounds permanently. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, hoping it would reset the system. No luck. I am positive I heard the valet set off my alarm when they were bringing back my car. I can only assume he had trouble turning it off and hit both buttons in some order to screw it up. Has ANYONE had this problem, or know how to fix it? Thanks, don
  2. how was that? was that fun for your butt? if they've been resurfaced to the point that they're paper thin...then yes, replace them. but they're not as disposable as pads.
  3. what the hell have i started?! my head is spinning! here's what i got so far: the green is bad if and only if you previously used purple. if you used blue, or plan on using lavender in the future, stick with pink. red is cool only during the month of may, but if you used taupe last leap year your radiator just might blow up.
  4. MINE TOO!! but i luv her anyway...it makes her look MEAN!!!
  5. wow, thanks everyone for your posts. informative to say the least. i'll let you know how it turns out.
  6. sweet!! i was hoping it would be DIY job. i shouldn't need any special tools right? just a screwdriver for the hoseclamps and whatnot?
  7. hi all, i went to get my oil changed and they tried to sell me on a $70 radiator fluid flush? the guy showed me what i can only describe as turkey-baster with four colored balls in it. then he pointed to the line that stated, "NOT SAFE." he told me i had enough in there but it wasn't "protecting my radiator." i've got over 75K miles. i don't think it's ever been flushed. but how do i really know if i need to? is there any additive i can buy? thanks everyone, don
