  1. Also, the LS never came with a 5 or 6Speed version anywhere, not even in Japan. Getrag hasn't made one either--I checked. The only one that is close to comparison is GS300, but a custom driveshaft, electronics, and what SRK and VMF mentioned will definitely be needed. I was quoted $8200 for Parts and Labour from a friend. So day I'll attempt it, when money permits it.
  2. I believe they sell the books. I haven't searched their Website lately, so I really don't know. You should call them up and ask them if they have the books in stock, but I'd check out Ebay first.
  3. A V8 can get the same horsepower ratings as a 4-cylinder. Infact since our V8s are high compression engines it's likely going to increase a full 15-25% mass air into the chamber. It would be better if you can move the filter closer to the bottom of the car instead of inside the bay for better results, but that's up to you. Another Intake you could consider is the Injen intake, or visit the SC Forum, and check out the Performance Specs and General FAQ for links for the SC400s.
  4. What about the Midas Gold Company? http://www.midastouchgoldplating.com Has anybody tried contacting them about plating your existing chrome?
  5. Your only option is going with a RF Modulated CD Changer. You can always hide the controller, if you don't want to see it.
  6. Very interesting. B) I'm glad everything went well with the rest. Hate to bring this up, but don't you take care of your LS?
  7. You can also check with a Company based out of MD, known as Brandy Wine. BrandyWine Also, I can get parts from Lexus if someone needs something badly.
  8. Ah good old Brandywine shows up for a search near me. BTW, why did you mention this on an interchangeable thread?
  9. It could be the mounts themselves. When you replaced the Shocks/struts did you replace them? I've come across that problem a couple of times.
  10. Think about visiting Exoticwoods.com or some of the others listed after a Google Search. You can always custom cut them and have it Vaneered by an expert.
  11. Never actually looked into that, but a good possibility one of the cables are malfunctioning. I'd remove the center console, and troubleshoot. I'd stop by Lexus and ask them for a parts diagram for the center console. It won't give you the locations for the screws, but at least you'll know what parts come out.
  12. VMF lives in the Tri-State Area. You could PM her to see who she recommends. If you can make it down to the DC area, I can swap it out for $200 labour--no alternator. Personally, I'm not that big of a fan for the ones from AutoZone or Pepboys, but that's just me. I can probably get another PS Pump from my source for $200 or less. Changing the Alternator is not a bad idea. It will save you a few moves in the future.
  13. 90LexusLS400: The front noise you're hearing might be the Shock themselves. Have you done the bounce test or do you know how old they are? The ones in the back could be the Shocks as well. You might want to invest some money into aftermarket Shocks from KYB, Tokico, JICs or TIEN. Yeah you should swap out the old strut mounts as well. The vibration is possibly the drive shaft, but I have yet to tackle mine.
  14. I assume it would be related to humidity outside. What you could do is get a good window cleaner, and remove the film off your windows.
  15. Yeah Ted, I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with them. It's not wise to disrespect people that way. There's supposedly an Ebaybased company that's selling parts straight out of Japan. Last time this company surfaced was when someone found a Soarer Front Bumper Cover. don't remember the name, but I'll keep looking.
  16. I like the shift knobs on the Honda S2000 and the New G35 6speed. Why not look into the shift knob on the Supra?
  17. It's possible that there is a little moisture built up inside the distributor cap and the spark plugs. Have you run the engine with the hood down yet, and taken the spark plugs out and blow dried?
  18. don't know who might be selling a face-plate today. Most of us have a custom face-plate that we've either built or had built. If you've already checked out the Audio/video and buy and sell forums I would suggest looking on the Web, especially on Ebay?
  19. I doubt the chassis is bent. It sounds like you have a couple of bad doors and fenders. Put up some pictures on the server so that we can get a better look at it.
  20. of course you can replace the ones in the radio and climate control unit.
  21. Rgenender Writes: "2002 SC430. Have less than 14K miles on it and have had it in for all service intervals. In the last 4K miles, or so, the inner treads on both rear tires have become bald, while the rest of each tire has progressively more tread as you go from inner tread to outer tread. The outer tread appears to have very little wear. After about 5K miles, a man pulled up to me at a light and said that my rear wheels looked like they were bowing out on the bottom. I keep the tires at between 37 and 38 psi. I know that the rear suspension has negative camber, but could it be so bad as to produce this kind of wear? Lexus dealer says that they have seen this before, but want to track it in future. Could their alignment machine be miscalibrated? They say impossible." RGenender: Please visit the "For Visitors and New Users" Forum for information on how to use our Forum correctly. It's really not that hard. Thanks UCF3 Moderator SC and LS Forums
  22. RColbert Writes: "Dude thank you so much for the info, but I'm way too lazy to do all that myself. It seems way more involved than I thought, but thank you for being so awesome in your response. I guess I'm gonna have to pay alot of money to have someone do it for me!!! :)"
  23. David_Meusa Writes: "I got a 92' LS400 4 mo ago, now it makes loud noise when starts in the morning and last abt 3 min, then there is no noise. Any one with same experence? Any suggestion to fix it?" David: Please read the Visitors and New Member Forum for details on how to use our forum. Please be aware that you are reporting a post that doesn't need to be. Thanks for reading. Sincerely, UCF3 Moderator SC and LS Forums
  24. Any luck?
  25. Wandawood: Why not keep your old Rims and tires for your new car. Get bottom $$ from Allstate.
