  1. ModMan, can you post the instructions on cleaning the EGR valve, I went to that site you left and was not able to find a solution. Thanks, SS
  2. Birdman, did you solve your problem? I am having the same issue now and am wondering what to do. Thanks, SS
  3. Thanks guys, I'll check the wires tonight.
  4. Hi, I changed my spark plugs last week (Bosch Platinum +4) and air filter after having to change my alternator. I seem to have a problem now when barely touching the gas pedal, in 4th, in between 1500 and 2000 RPM where the car spurts and stutters. It only occurs under those circumstances. Did I put in the wrong plugs? Should I take the Bosch out and replace with NGK's? Start up is fine, along with acceleration, etc. Thanks, SS
  5. Well I turned on my A/C and the only thing spinning on the compressor was the pulley ( I guess in front of the pulley there is a disc that should be spinning?). I ran the diagnostic from the climate control unit, and it flashed 00 numerous times. Does this mean most likely I have a leak somewhere and my compressor is shut down due to the safety mechanism engaged when the refridgerant pressure is too low? thanks, SS
  6. Hi again, Last weekend when I did some major work on my 91LS400, I had the serpentine belt off, the rad out, and a good view of my A/C compressor. with the belt off, I lightly spun the pulley on it and it made a wierd noise. It was like a bearing was loose behind the pulley (or some metal debris). My A/C is not working (well, it's not blowing cold air), could I have a broken compressor? My A/C light is not blinking, and I still haven't checked if my compressor spins when I turn it on (how would I do that, does it not always spin since it's connected to the main serp. belt?). Hopefully I just need a recharge. Thanks, SS
  7. So does anyone have the procedure out of the manual? I think I can get the shims from a 'friend';-) Thanks
  8. Come on guys, it can't be that hard....especially after taking half my engine apart yesterday to change the alternator, timing belt, spark plugs, wires, etc, etc, etc....how much harder could valve adjustments be? :D
  9. Can someone please be so kind as to send me or post the maintenance procedure for adjusting the valves on a 1991 LS400? This ticking is driving me nuts! Sounds like a Rabbit diesel from the 80's! Appreciate it, thanks, SS
  10. Kevin, thanks for all the information. So I guess since the Right main is new, the left main needs to be changed now. Could this problem possibly be a PCV valve or airfilter however? I hate o2 sensors :P
  11. Kevin, thanks for the document. The check engine light and trac off light came on as I said after 49 kms, at idle with the Temp gauge right in the middle. I have not flushed my coolant in a while, would this make a difference? Question however, which sensor is the 'main heated oxygen sensor' the document is referring to? Am I right to conclude that there are 2, on the left and right, before the cat?
  12. hmmmm, now I'm reading that it could possibly be the fuel filter because I'm not getting a second code indicating a faulty o2 sensor. thoughts?
  13. Code 25 - Air/Fuel Ratio Lean Malfunction What confuses me is that there are already codes designated for each o2 sensor (main bank left and right, secondary bank left and right). However, everything I'm reading in the internet points to code 25 being a faulty o2 sensor. Well which one? I really don't want to replace the remaining 3 ($900 in parts here in Ontario, Canada.)
  14. 1991 Could the code possibly be result of a exhaust leak somewhere? Or is it for sure another (or the same) sensor?
  15. Update.... I changed the right o2 sensor in front of the cat yesterday, the check engine light successfully reset, but now after 49kms it's back! Before i changed the sensor I was getting error code 28, but now I'm getting error code 25. Do I need to change another sensor or is something wrong with the one I just put in?
