  1. Hi Joseph and welcome to the Club. My best guess on your Sun Roof is a bad fuse. In your owners manual there should be a section on fuse blocks locations One block which holds fuses is on the left side of the drivers side foot well. With a flash light, look on the drivers side lef panel, and then up, almost up next to the start of the dash. There is also a fue box under the hood, on the drivers side, near top of fender. In the Owners Manual, there should also be a page or two showing the fusel placement diagram, its' amperage and style, and a description of what circuit(s) it controls. As for your other issues, Call Sewell Lexus in Denver. They have a large part business and give a great discount to Lexus Owners Club members. Sewellparts.com. Paul
  2. Article compares gasoline prices today with October of 2013. From what they claim, the switch back to blends that are meet seasonal refinering, The mideast conflicts and USA customer spending still climbing, Are all helping the gas market. Good article. What is the current price for gasoline where you live? PAUL http://autos.aol.com/article/prices-at-the-pump-head-below-3-in-much-of-us/
  3. I've never heard of ANY Lexus dealer try so hard to commit fraud. Run away as fast as you can.
  4. I understand your frustration Tim and If I were you, I'd be pulling my hair out. I went back and looked at our sites search/data banks to see if the mildew odor had been noticed prior to 2014. If you Tim, want to really dig into this, I would recommend visiting the "Toyota Information Services" site ; TIF Is a Toyota owned website and provides everything technical about Lexus, Toyota, and Scion. This site was developed by Toyota for use by professionals and Lexus users. as well as Scion and the Toyota label. Information offered are things like all wiring diagrams, detail drawings and specs, along with service bulletins and recalls. With your concern Tim about internet security you can also use the toll-free number. Here is the address. "TIF.com" One thing that always puzzles me, when these crazy situations come up, it seems that a lot of us are unwilling or just unaware to press their dealer for service under the warranty. Read your Owners Manual. The warranty covers "Bumper to Bumper. The problem does not have to be a major failure. Yes, it's true that not all dealers are the same and some are out right bad guys. However trying the Toyota Information system is worth the $15 for 2 days use. You can have use of the site for $15 for 48 hours/ 2 days. I have had excellent service as well when I've worked with the Lexus Customer Center. Their site is "Lexus.com". The "Lexus.com offers several services, including dealer problems, plus warranty issues. Every Lexus dealer is covered by a regional Lexus factory rep. These people are also available to help resolve problems with your dealer and your side of the problem. http://www.lexus.com/contact/ Paul
  5. In Dallas TX, there is a Lexus dealer named, "Sewell Lexus". They have a large parts department and provides excellent service, looking up parts help, and part numbers as well as offering tech asst. When you log onto Sewellparts.com they have a section for members of Lexus Owners Club. By clicking on that section it identifys you as a member which gives you a substantial discount on parts. They will help you find a part or part number. Their service is excellent. A few months ago I needed a new key FOB for my 2013 - ES350. My dealer wanted $240. Sewell Lexus sold it to me for $161. They are easy to deal with. I imagine we would all like to know what Sewell's price would be for the part being talked about here. Paul

  7. This is Cduluks e-mail if you want to contact him directly. New members are unable to use the "Personal Message" feature on our site until they have posted 5 or more entries. This is to cut down on the amount of Spam we get. prince_ob707@yahoo.com
  8. Hi Obinna and welcome to the Club. I don't know the best way to resolve your question with the exception of using the "Info/apps and-or the "Set-up" function. Also, I'm asking another member who is well veresed on these systems to take a look and see if he can be of more help. Paul cduluk@cox.net
  9. Hi James and welcome to the Club. It sounds like you've spent some time in thinking your problem through in a logical manor. That, is going to make the difference in solving your problem hopefully. Lenore and I agree that your chance of having the seller/car dealer fix the problem is "nada". Unless, they sold it to you as a Certified car covering bumper to bumper for X miles/months. Even then, they could deny the claim by saying they cannot be held liable for a manufactuers defect that the cars manufacturer was obligated to fix if there had been a recall announced. Also, check your states "Lemon Law" statues for situations such as these. Such information is included in my Owners Manual package when I trade cars. "Lexus.com" is the address for Lexus Customer connections. These portals can connect you to a department that handles dealer issues. There is also access to information about Tech Bulletins and Recall notices. Lexus has regional reps. who cover sveral dealers within an area. Dealer problems are usually handled by these Lexus reps, working with the dealer Service Manager and Dealer Gneral Manager. I've seen them bend over backwards to make a customer happy, and also be firm and deny a claim. It could be a good idea to call Lexus and just chat about your situation and let them give you some directions on how all of you can come away happy. Paul PS: The least they could do is by you an oil tanker to pull around so you don't have to stop at every gas station. LOL
  10. Try an upholstery shop. They generaly do this type of work. If not, try a salvage vendor. You can go online and look at their inventory's. Paul
  11. Hi Nikki and welcome to the club. There are a couple of choices for you to choose from. First, Yes, you can buy as many keys as you would like, and also another remote. The reason the dealer charges so much is that the the keys/remote need to be programed to your specific car and VIN #. There is a Lexus dealer in Dallas, TX that gives our members a hefty discount. I needed a second remote and was quoted $225. from my local dealer. Sewell Lexus sold it for $161. Quite a difference. Simply go to "Sewellparts.com" As you register as a guest you'll see a place to identify yourself as a member of the Lexus Owners Club or "LOC". That is what identifies you as eligible for the parts discounts. Another option is a trained Lock Smith. Many Lock Smiths have been trained to make and program keys for Lexus type cars. My understanding is that the Lock Smith may have the keys for sale or if you can't find such a Lock Smith you can buy your keys on e-bay. Hope this is helpful. Paul
  12. A lot of good information here about a problem most owners didn't know was a problem !! Check the attitude at the door Jeff. Paul
  13. Hi Lenore, Do you know what company Amazon links you to for the Sensors? Take care. ( By the way, I'm voting straight Republican this fall......yea, I didn't think you'd fall for that one either. LOL)
  14. Great outline and explanation. Lexus audio systems have always been treated like a dark mystery that no one dares touch for fear of being cast into a firery pit! lol There has always been a lack of information put out by Lexus, and in many cities it is very difficult to find someone to work on them. Yes, there is always your dealer, but they continue to charge incredibly high prices. One vendor I have found that does an excellent and professional job, is "United Radio" in New York. They are even able to work on Mark Levinson systems. Hope your project Jay goes smooth. Paul
  15. Which area has the rudest drivers? Big cities?.....New York?....Los Angeles? Check this out!! Do you have a diffrent choice that beats them all? Chime in, http://autos.aol.com/article/drivers-in-western-u-s-state-named-the-rudest-in-the-nation/
  16. Try "Sewellparts.com" at Sewell Lexus in Dallas. They are great about helping and give LOC members a hefty discount. Paul
  17. Television commercial "Failure is not a factory installed option." Paul :)
  18. Hi Ed and welcome to the Club. Your outline sounds like a standard case of buyers remorse. However It's not clear from what you say which items in your list are bothering you the most. For eample; you have all of the Lexus service records, you have it's CarFax, which though not allways 100% right on, it is helpful. For an 08' with only 40k miles on it, it sounds like they never drove any further than the grocery store. Do you have a trade?. A trade against and good preowned can be a rubic's cube to try and figure out. You made what appears to be an informed decsion. As you already know, nothing is without some level of risk. This sounds like you should enjoy your new ride. By the way, when you buy something, ask for the opinion BEFORE you make the purchase. Paul
  19. Hi John and welcome to the club. We are glad you here. Jim and I have been good bud's for years. Take his advice and suggestions and you'll become your own hitch expert. When it come's to Lexus he's already forgotten more than I've ever known. Paul
  20. Your so right.... It always comes down to having the right car and the right customer who just so happens to want what you have, and a dealer who happens to be your favorite uncle..LOL Come back and let us know how things are going. Paul
  21. The other day I was out doing some errands and enjoying the early fall weather. I came out of the grocery store and got in the car. I put my foot on the brake and hit the start button. As usual, I started to put on my seat belt, but for some reason, this time, I looked at the picture of the car that appears on the instrument face. I noticed that a sentence appeared next to the picture of the car. The sentence read, "Low Key Battery". I must have been out of my office taking a nap when that feature was added!! I feel like an idiot for not knowing this was a feature. Be kind with me......I'm a slow learner. LOL Paul
  22. Hi Shred Monster. The farther down the list I read the faster I wanted to run from this beauty. I would'nt put a nickel in it. It doesn't look like you've made any allowance for your own labor in trying do some of the repairs your self. The sad truth is that no mater how much money you invest in trying to bring your RX up to good condition, you'll never get your money back from a dealer or private owner. People go by miles on the oddometer and model year. Dealers go strictly by the whosale value, and will probably take your RX to an auction. My position is to trade as is, unless it's unsafe due to the rotors/pads. Good Luck, Paul
  23. Hi Joel and welcome to the Club. I'm wondering that since it runs when you hold in the button but not when you let off, could it be something as simple as the A/C switch? Another source of incredible Lexus information is the "Toyota Information System" owned by Toyota. It is a website geared for those makes, but a non professional can use the source/library for 2 days for $15. I would really try this out if you still are stumped. Paul
  24. All of us know the danger of beliving every rumor you hear, but with this mans relationship with the mother hen, so faf he has been an accurate, "straight from the horses mouth" connection. Can you find room in your garage for a 500hp
