  1. Yeah Paul I was thinking the same. Won't get my money out of it. It could possibly cost me $5K depending upon how much the door cost to paint and the dealer charged me to fix the rattles and such. I think I can get $8500 to 0K on a trade. A dealer can fix it up much chearper than I can. Looking at what they are selling for is is about $12 - $14K there is no way I think putting $3K - $5K would be worth it.
  2. I have a 2004 RX330 with 160,000 miles. Engine in great condition. However it needs the following work: 1) Rotors on all 4 wheels 2) Steering fixed which will cost $600 3) Drivers Side Rear Door getting rust 4) Back Bumper scratched and needs replacement 5) Both seats in back rattling - need fixing probably by dealer 6) Rattle on top somewhere - needs fixing probably by dealer 7) Dash rattles when it gets cold - clips need replacement by dealer _ I heard this costs $500 8) Potential radiator leak - $600 - not sure as I have had it replaced twice now and fluid was really low the other day so I had to put more in. 9) Sun Roof needs reprogramming as it is not closing properly - have had this done before. Probably looking at $3,000 at least to fix everything I estimate since the dealer is not cheap. Rotors not cheap. Entire door would need to be repainted as it is rusting. I am thinking it might be easier to trade in rather than put $3,000 into it and not get that money out of it.
  3. My radiator started leaking at 59,000 miles. Took it into my local dealer and they replaced it free of charge. They said they have been seeing problems with them. It was leaking on the top portion of the radiator. Something to be aware of.
  4. I have done little other than oil changes and tire rotations. I think I will take my vehicle in to Toyota because it is cheaper to have the work done. Is there anything I should have done at this mileage that is typical ? I have one letter from the past mentioning Re-torque of the Drive Shaft Flange Bolts. Is this necessary? Thanks
  5. I have had the dealer secure the license plate, some brackets on the trunk closure mechanisms, rear seat track. Now getting more rattles. Speakers, front dash and I think the seat is acting up again because I have a new rattle in the back. I just turned over 50,000 miles. WTF? The car runs great but I have never seen a car rattle like this. Seems Lexus has as many problems as GM or any other manufacturer so what am I getting for the extra money I am spending on a Lexus?
  6. My RX330 has the 6 CD changer and I have intermittent problems. And my problems are with regular commercial CDs. Some it likes and others I have problems with. Don't know if I should take it in or not. It works perfectly with some CDs and others I can't eject or play. I put a CD in and get an error message and then can't get it out. Usually I shut the car off and have to restart it for the CD to eject. Again these are on commercially recorded CDs. Happens intermittently so I am afraid it could work perfectly for the dealer if I bring it in and they won't see a problem. The problem could happen over 2 days or take a week. Sometimes the problem CDs will work fine and other times they won't work. I have never seen anything like this.
  7. Very suprised by these. Car rides very smoothly but figured since it was a Lexus I would not have issues. 1) Very back Window Strips - fell of on each side at separate times. Had to take the car in twice to get both windows replaced. 2) Moon Roof - had to be reprogrammed. Stopped working properly. 3) Headligh cover - condensation in one head light. 4) Trunk Lock Mechanisms - there are some plastic mechanisms back there that the say rattle a lot on these cars. They put felt on them and that worked. 5) Back Seat Rattling - very loud especially when cold and going over bumps. They had to install a new track on the bottom of the seat. 6) Dash is rattling now. I have read on this forum to maybe let that go since they cant get the dash as tight once they remove it. 7) CD Player - Error 3, Error 4 and lots of times where it will not eject a CD or play a CD. Seems to be only on certain CDs and I am talking commercial CD's - not computer burned ones. Very sporatic behavior. Dealership is great and I get a replacement car for the day. But I had a Nisson Pulsar that was a $14,000 car that never had a single problem and ran for 200,000 miles. By the way - TIRES - I live in MN where we get snow. The tires are not good snow tires. They are slippery. What is it - factory workers, cheap parts or poor design ??
