  1. Here in the plains of the upper Midwest, we are an all inclusive habitat state for all Deer, Cattle, Hogs, Rabbit, Turkeys, Racoon, Horses, Opossum, . Apparently there is no "Legal Limit" for how many or in what combination they can be on the road at anyone time.
  2. A look back to the beginnings of Lexus and the LS400. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/12/lexus-history-the-launch-of-the-original-ls-400/
  3. Hi Kenneth and welcome to the Club. A couple of ideas. Our Club members receive a hefty discount from a Lexus dealer in Dallas. Sewell Lexus has great service and helpful ideas. Simply go to "sewellparts.com" When you register, check the space where it shows those Lexus clubs that are eligible. Or, check with ebay for price and availability. If your a true DIY'er check "TIS.com" This is the official Toyota, Lexus, and Scion technical site. For $15, you can rent use of the entire site for 2 days. Here you'll find diagnostics, diagrams, part number, and anything else you might want. Paul
  4. Sorry Becki. Try this... https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/11/lx-mode-releases-lexus-nx-body-kit/
  5. Hi John and welcome. Denny am I correct in saying that if the battery is ok, sometimes people find a loose negative strap where it bolts to the body? Paul
  6. Beginning with the new LX, car kits are coming out with some fantastic results (my opinion only). The first view at this site is a white LX with a very cool body kit. At the end of the photos is a blue RC F. Looking at the car, head on, The treatment of the headlights and surrounds is terrific. 7. Looks like a pregnant Roller Skate.....
  8. Just when you think Lexus is making head way on updating the former conservative looking models, something comes along to make you say OMG??? If you own Toyota stock, I think selling it might be a good idea. LOL :) The possible "City Car". https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/10/more-details-on-the-lexus-lf-sa-city-car-concept/
  9. Way cool. If you haven't done so before, check out "Lexus Enthusiast." Paul
  10. Another source is the "Toyota Information Services" This is the official site for Toyota brands including Lexus, Scion, and Toyota. This is a complete technical site for virtually any technical subject. Wiring schematics, component blown-up diagrams, part numbers and much, much, more. The difference is that this is a "pay as you go" service. For example, you can log-on for 48 hours for only $15. A year subscription runs about $1,200. Go to "TIS.com". Let us know if you were able to find the help you need. Paul
  11. Hi Steve, It's been my understanding that for 2011, 2012, and 2013, Lexus was the top sales leader in the luxury car category. In 2014, Lexus got knocked of their pedestal and is trying to regain that spot. Your guess is my guess in that I think much of Lexus success is heavily weighted from reliability. Paul
  12. Hi Amar and welcome. If the battery is full or somewhat drained, it should have no effect on how many revolutions it takes for the engine to start. It is more probable that something in the ignition and/or fuel is hindering the process. In trying to understand your situation, has this car been sitting, un-started since October of 2014? If so their could be more than "One" devil in the details. Please come back and let us know what you find. Paul
  13. Hi Mitch, and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. We have a 2013 RX350 and a 2013 ES350. There is a distinct difference in the padding/forming of the seats. The seat bottom is very stiff in the RX, and the seat back seems to be stiffer and rear leaning which can be corrected mostly with power seat adjustments. The other obvious feature that makes the ride less comfortable is the stiffer suspension which is not good for riding but excellent traction from the all-wheel drive. On a long trip, I easily adjust to the stiffer ride and become as comfortable our ES350. Using a cushion is helpful, but it covers the little pin-holes in the leather upholstery and blocks the seat heating and cooling function. My best suggestion is to lock in the perfect seating position for each of you,, and save those settings which comfort you the most. Paul
  14. Hi Blake. Just wanted to say hello and welcome to the Club. Dave's a great guy and has forgotten more Lexus knowledge than I'll ever know! Paul
  15. I think all of our comments are fair and interesting. But maybe the most important section of the reports to focus on, is the Lexus brand within it's own category of luxury cars and competing against those makes which fall within the same value for the price category. Again, Lexus finished not only at the top, but way above BMW and Mercedes. If I worked at a luxury brand dealer, I would be a little nervous now. Paul
  16. Really nice Becki!! During the 70's, I was a professional photographer. and owned two studios in southern Iowa. I just can't get over the incredible photography being done today with a tiny iPhone camera. I had to buy thousands and thousand of dollars worth of specialized cameras and lens accessories to accomplish not only the effects of modern photography, but also the razor sharp image-edge. My wife uses's her camera feature often and all I can do is lean back and realize that if I was trying to make a living as a photog. today, I'd probably have some 12 year-old as my competitor. lol Paul
  17. For the third year in a row, readers of Consumer Reports have chosen Lexus as the number one brand in overall reliability, road test score, and overall score against other models tested. In my view, repetition is never boring. LOL Paul http://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/02/24/lexus-takes-first-place-in-consumer-reports-annual-brand-rankings/
  18. I did a quick search of our data base regarding other postings on LS430 gas mpg. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of ideas on how to reduce the outflow from your wallet. LOL Paul http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?s=37ca08f251f4f830f342aca1db8e152a&app=googlecse#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=ls430%20gas%20mileage
  19. Hi Cameron and welcome to the Club. Yes, it's going to be pretty difficult to find exactly what your looking for. If you have checked with salvage yards on line or e-bay, your probably out of luck. However, I have purchased two different sets of floor mats from a company called "Weather Tech." They produce a mat that is cut to the exact measurements of your OEM mat. Then they have a large number of colors you can choose from. The material is thick and cleans up very well. Another choice is "Loyds Matts" They too make a good product but I think they may offer fewer colors. Paul
  20. Check this out. It's Toyota's "Technical Information Services". It is the official site for all Toyota, Lexus, and Scion models. This is meant to be all things technical including TSB's and anything else you may want. It provides all system diagrams, schematics, parts, etc. There is a fee of $15.00 for a two day access. Paul
  21. Hi Charles. In order to better access information regarding the paint problem, I would urge you to look at our search function where you will find a large number of complaints and methods used to resolve the problem with Lexus. To use the Clubs Data Base, first pull up the main log on forums page. At the top, over to the right is a grey colored horizontal box where you can put in your search parameters . Words such as "peeling paint - TSB re. peeling paint. Let Becki or I what the dealer comes off with Paul
  22. Hi Todd, I'm not a fountain of knowledge when it comes to your 2015 version of Lexus Navigation. For example, does your navigation work with the "joy stick" (mouse) next to the Shifter handle? If so, are there two rocker buttons on either side of the "Joy stick"? If so, you should be able to bring up the map by pushing the button on the right side labeled "Map". In my 2013 that is how it works. The button on the left will bring up a screen with several input/features choices. Once the map screen is on, there are several personal setting you can choose. Some of the settings can be used while in motion, others only when your stopped. The idea is safety, not to try and do to many things at the same time. Another option for using your nav. is to go to the screen where all of the applications are shown. Click on nav. and start entering you choices. Let me know if this is of any help. Paul
  23. I think you will all agree that over the last ten years, nearly all manufacturers have turned to offering a certified program. Over the last several years, and particularly since 2008, all car dealers have experienced a significant lack of availability of used cars for their demands. I think the CPO from Lexus has helped them bring in the CPO prospects because they can get the customers trade ( the dealer here is pretty selective) and move a buyer into a late year Lexus that the buyer thought they could never afford. In one of my buying events at my local dealer, I negotiated back and forth about the $1,000 CPO offer. One of my thoughts at the time was even if I don't buy the CPO package, I would still get the benefit of what they had already done to the car. My dealer includes repair of all dings and dents, and scratches. For a new buyer, Lexus keeps a complete history on all work done on a Lexus. It is available for the asking. Paul
  24. Just a note to emphasize the strange life of tires. When spring comes to the Midwest I have my dealer take off my snow tires and remount my all season Michelin Primacies. From that point on, through out the summer and fall, my front tires will "bark" when flooring it from a dead start. The snow tires do not do this. In rain or snow or ice, each set of tires give a different response. Since you live in the land of 10,000 lakes, I would urge you to use snow tires regardless of VSC or Trac. Control. (my snow tires are Michelin's as well.
  25. Hi George and welcome to the Club. Your not the only one who has talked about the same things. In 2013, Lexus tweaked the suspension of the ES350. Over the last few years before the intro. of the 2013, Lexus buyers were looking for a feel in the ES that was a little more like a BMW. The characteristics you brought out are the things that were homed in on. After the introduction with the new suspension, customers and potential buyers had mixed feelings. Some said they had bought the car for the famous "Lexus Ride and Quiet". Others loved the new changes. Handles better, tighter in the turns, etc. Also, Lexus changed the tire specs. to help the new ride. I have owned both a 2010 E350, and a 2013 ES350. For me, I liked the older, smoother 2010, but frankly, after a year of driving my 2013 I don't even think of it. Paul
