  1. Hi James and welcome. I've looked through my 2013 Nav. manual and found no mention of photo viewing on either iphone or ipod. The only mention I found was displaying the album art work from an ipod. Obviously, they have upgraded the software for your application. For the best and quickest way to get an answer, your dealer has a person trained to help customer work and set up their features. They are usually called Technical Advisers. This is free. Please come back and let us know what you find out so we can all learn. Paul
  2. I bought a new FOB (2013 ES350) at Sewell Lexus parts. My dealer wanted the $250 number, I got it from Sewell for $161.00. LOC members get a good discount at Sewell. Sewellparts.com Paul
  3. Not sure this is germane, but on my 2013 ES350, the DRL's are controled by a dial on the turn signal stock. You simply turn it to off or on. This is a good idea because over these past years people have either liked the DRL feature or hated it. Within the search program you can find several conversations about this feature. The yellow looking DRL's are halogen bulbs, thus the tint. Now since all bulbs have been changed to LED's, the fog's and head lights appear to be the same color tint. A few years ago there were many postings about wanting to change out the halogen fog lights because owners thought they looked cheap. It finally came out that the yellow tint color in the fog lights was intentional by Lexus because the yellow color penetrates fog and mist along with light snow fall thereby providing better visability. Therefore, it's simply up to you to do what you like. At some point in the past, I believe that some states made DRL's mandatory. I like the running lights. In my view there is no such thing as too many visual warnings that you are at the intersection, ready to turn and some "asleep at the wheel" driver cuts in front of you because he didn't see you there. Paul
  4. Here it is, a layout showing the new, 2016 RX 350. I have a 2013 RX 350 and I would be tempted to trade right away just to have the pleasure of looking at the new RX every day. I especially like the headlights. Overall, it should make a strong, new contender in the hot SUV market. What do you think? Do you like it or maybe hate it? Share your thoughts. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/04/17/photo-gallery-the-2016-lexus-rx-350-in-silver/
  5. Steve, now that you mention it, I have never read or heard of any diesel mated to a Lexus. I suppose it could be something that might sell in Europe where there is a strong market for diesel engines, but the big L would have to put zillions of euro's into making a showing . Looking back over the previous threads, I too wonder what America wants the car manufacturers to make in the future, given the schizoid market we have now. For those of us who went through the "gas lines" during the 1970s, you'll remember that after that smoothed out mandatory fuel standards increased. In terms of market share of high consumption muscle cars , they too continued a healthy life. The following years were again filled with a healthy demand for horse power and high performance. (underline Performance). There is a continuing demand for more power and speed. I am impressed with the R&D car companies have come up with to satisfy the customers need for speed, while also meeting Federal rules for fuel consumption, collision requirements, and a recall in the millions of units for every floor mat and hiccup. I don't think the market for high performance will ever go away.
  6. Hi Ashley and welcome. That is an odd type of problem. I think the first thing I would suggest trying is checking all the fuses in the car to see if one has burned out or come loose. The location of the fuse holders should be in your Owners Manual. There should be one just under the dash on the drivers side foot wall. Another location is under the hood on top of the drivers side fender. The manual should show each fuse and the function it is for. Say 15 amp fuse - door locks. If that doesn't help you will need to call your dealer and simply ask them for advice and do you need to have the dealer reprogram your key. Let us know how things are going. Paul
  7. I love it when self appointed "Gods of the Media," publish the equivalent of a Flash-Bang grenade meant for their latest "Chicken Little" rantings. Read the figures in the previous posting on Lexus sales in Europe and compare those Facts with the rant from our know all, see nothing Borg droid below. The reason I get a little bent out of shape when these narcissist come along, is their mentality like the business person making a purchase. When his choice of product was questioned, the business person replied, "I've made up my mind. Don't try to confuse me with facts." Paul Whats your opinion?? http://jalopnik.com/what-the-f-is-a-lexus-performance-car-1688464178
  8. Right in the heart of Germany's back yard. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/04/14/lexus-europe-sales-up-37-in-first-quarter-of-2015/
  9. Lexus announces racing schedule for summer. See the RC F at 177 mph! Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/04/10/video-the-lexus-rc-f-at-top-speed/
  10. An excellent resource for this type of problem is "United Radio.com" in Syracuse, New York. They specialize in automotive sound system and have excellent resources to help. I would suggest calling them, explaining your problem, and asking is this is typical or something that needs repair. Paul https://www.facebook.com/pages/United-Radio-Automotive-Electronics/152533008103297?sk=info&tab=overview
  11. Hi Kyle and welcome. That is a problem. I had a similar thing with my 2010 Rx. When I would plug in the mp3 player, the language between the two players would not allow the Lexus to control the usual functions of when working with a portable player. Also, if you turned your car off and got out, when you come back and start the car, the sound system would be dead again. I had to get rid of the mp3 and move to a ipod. If you read the owners manual for your RX you will understand that Lexus made their head unit mostly compatible with Apple. I never found a reason for the problem nor did I find anyone who could help. Please come back Kyle and let us know what you find out. PS -In order to help you find a starting point, there is a company in New York called "United Radio". They repair almost any radio ever mad. In fact, to my knowledge, Including United Radio, there is only one othe place in the States that will work on Mark Levinson stereo
  12. To all, beware: Obviously it doesn't take a very big item to make Becki go over the top! Hide you valve stem and cover. Failure to so could bring you a case of Jim Beam......with all caps off during delivery. You have been warned!! Paul
  13. Hi J and welcome. We are very glad Lexus redeemed them selves by settling your issue. The thing about this group is to remember that often it's the problem or Lexus seeming to care less that brings the member to post a infuriating problem. Because of that, we may hear mostly repair issues on many models. Last month, Consumer Reports chose Lexus number 1 in reliability and both Mercedes and BMW were way down the list. It would be helpful if you would have the time to explain how you and Lexus solved you problem. Paul
  14. Hello Giovanni and welcome. things do you expect from the car. I haven't driven a LS 430, but every thing I've heard has been positive. The LS line has been around since Lexus started up. Many of the LS models produced during the 90's are still running strong with any number having up to 150,000 - 200'000 miles on them. To my knowledge, there never has been a major problem with the Lexus LS 430 or a dependability issue. In fact, Consumer Reports in their last months magazine, rated Lexus as the No 1 car line for reliability. That means it beat Mercedes and BMW. I would imagine that other members will come along and give you a better answer. Paul
  15. Here are several New Model details that will bring you up to date on what models are "go for launch". Also, reliability statistics. AGAIN, Lexus beats Mercedes again!! ENJOY...... Paul http://www.autoblog.com/tag/lexus/
  16. Hi RX and welcome to the LOC. Your question always brings out a lot of conversation. What is too much to one buyer may be a steal for another. Your price quotes do not list the options your considering, any package price for accessories, and if you have a trade. When I purchased our 2013 RX 350, The sticker price was $50,000. I got that down to 10% over cost. If you would, please write back with some more information. And oh, list your location as where can effect cost as well. Paul
  17. Actually, I use one of the old ear trumpets. It works pretty good as long as your arm can stand holing up the thing. LOL My wife drives the RX while I drive the ES. However, after asking a few pointed questions, I found out that she HAD paired her Iphone to the ES. Sorry about the false alarm. So it turns out that both of were right. I feel pretty silly. I do have another one for you though. Friday, the 3r'd, I went out to run some errands and the ES was dead as a door nail. The instrument panel was totally dark with no warning lights at all. The dome lights were dark, radio and A/C, the same. The car has only been in service since 2012. And that is light service. We only take short hops for travel. About five years ago, I had left a dome light on and had the same experience. I jumped the battery and it took right off. I checked to see if any light or accessory had been left on, and that was a negative. I put my trickle charger on it for 12 hours, and it seems to be working fine. I already have an appointment with my dealer for my second service and to change off my snow tires. Should I have the dealer do a load test on the battery? Paul
  18. OK. Explain this to me? I don't use a smart phone and because of that, I've never activated my "Blue Tooth" service. Just a short while ago, I was pulling into my garage when the "Blue Tooth" system turned on and I could hear the phone ringing. Someone said hello, and I replied....it was my Mother in Law trying to answer her ringing phone. Then my wife's voice came on. My wife was trying to call her Mother but my "Blue tooth got brought in. Any thoughts? Paul
  19. That's a huge display screen. From the photo it appears to be about an inch wider than my 2013 Nav. screen.
  20. Hi Johnny and welcome to the Club. This link takes you to our data base and is just one post I found when searching. There are other postings about this subject if you want to do some research. This link covers the 2002 - 2006 ES models. Others should be along to help clarify your questions. 21. Hi Josh. Thanks for sharing your experience. Fortunately, I've had good luck with the on-line market world. But it is so easy to grab for the price and flashy product presentations. Then there are the phony "User" reviews. You might be able to get help from the Better Business Bureau, or the Consumer Affairs division of the state where the vendor is located. Let us know what you find out. Paul
  22. I would try "Sewell parts" at Sewell Lexus in Dallas. I had the same problem as you and I saved over $100 from what my dealer quoted. Your local dealer will have to program it to match the codes in your car. Paul
  23. Most people find these manuals on ebay or at Toyota.com. Unfortunately, none are free.
  24. Our 2013 RX350 does not have individual tire pressures display. My 2013 ES350 does have individual pressure readings. What a great improvement!! I felt the "one size fits all" monitoring was helpful but didn't give you any clue as where to start. The new individual monitoring only shows pressure for 4 tires. Therefore I don't know if the spare is still monitored or if they dropped it to save cost. Any body know? Paul
