  1. Not trying to be cute, but have you talked to XM to see if they can send you a new ID? Paul
  2. I agree with all of you. Last year, we wanted to trade my wife's car for a new RX350. The process was excellent. We told the dealer what we wanted and that it was for my wife. The salesman took over and concentrated his presentation to Chris, and took time to answer any and all questions. When it came time to deliver the car, their Tech Specialist spent almost 20 minutes going over all the features and questions she had. Paul
  3. Lexus has begun putting in place a new training program to train dealers on improving working with women customers and groups that may not feel welcomed in the Lexus dealers experience. This follows the input from new and old customers. Since women play a substantial roll in making the decision to buy, it only makes sense to include them in the process instead of talking only to the man. As we all know, there are good dealer's out there and really bad ones as well. This is part of Lexus program to get all dealers to give their customers a professional and respectful experience. 4. The new NX 200t has been set for a late fall release. From the news article below it sounds like a major player. Do you think a turbo is the right move for this product? Are you thinking off considering adding the new NX to your stable? Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/24/lexus-is-200t-gs-200t-coming-soon/

  6. Hi Ron and welcome to the LOC. Your comments about what should be the mean miles for a water pump failure depends on what your comparing it to. My view is that anything has the potential to fail, falling outside of that mean calculation. Just a month or so ago, "Consumer Reports" published their annual best auto survey. The sampling base for the survey was just over 1,000,000. respondents. Of all the cars studied for the survey, Lexus was the MOST reliable regardless of make, price, model, etc. Way below the top held by Lexus was BMW and MB near the last 1/3 of the results. A long time ago I figured out that at least in my world, if you remember one of the most quoted statements of all time, it might put things like car part failure in perspective. "Houston, we have a problem". After decades of design work, safety redundancy, and billions and billions of dollars in engineering effort, a space craft, heading home from a quick run to the moon for beer, was almost lost for the failure of a toggle switch. LOL Paul
  7. I love it when we have these complicated back and forth posturings. Especially when the subject could have catastrophic consequences to the hope of world peace. LOL-LOL I'm not sure if my memory is correct, but back during our Flower Child days, I think VW had a fabric sun room that cranked open, and the fabric top would fold back Accordion style. Is that correct or is it the vapor lock in my brain?!! Paul
  8. Hi guys! Luckily, it's not raining today so maybe here in the Mid West we''ll start to get a hold of some signs of spring. Regarding the auto-windshield wiper feature, I really like it. I had the feature on my 2010 ES and now on my 2013 ES, as well as our 2013 RX. They come on when their suppose to, I can select the speed and I can select the sensitivity of the auto-on feature. The only complaint I have is when you first start the car, and pull away from the curb, The auto sensor will not kick in until you lower the wiper on stalk and then after that things go fine. Paul
  9. Welcome adee43. In your owners manual is a section listing all fuses and there location by a picture. If you've already done this and both the "under hood" and drivers left side panel has been checked, I would suggest that the cigaret lighter is the main source of your trouble. Paul
  10. Hi Mark and welcome to the LOC. Of all the topics and questions posted on the sight, proper tires and what is the best gas mileage for my car, top the list. I think all of us are trying to get the best performance, but not at a price that makes you live in that car.LOL We are just over 10,000 miles on our 2013 RX 350. The OEM tires are Dunlop, Grand Track Touring-A/S. They are the 19" inch size. So far the performance of the tires has been good. They are not too firm nor are they to soft. Traction and stoping in snow, ice, rain is excellent. But, like you, I prefer a smooth quite ride. I've found out that an auto that weighs as much as the RX and has a stiffer suspension, is never going to be exactly what I would prefer. My wife loves them. On my 2013, ES350, I have always used Michelin Primacy tires. They are great. Very quite, smooth as silk, and good traction even in light to moderate snow. Most Lexus dealers today will match any price that you can find. However, you do have to get an estimate from another supplier to prove your claim. In the past I used to believe that any tire brand our style of tire would be the best for it's particular car. Not so. On all three of my ES I have dealt with the dealer to exchange the OEM for the Michelin. Come back and let us know how things turn out. Paul
  11. Here it is....April 1st, The all new RX for 2016 will be open for business. The body styling is like nothing I've seen before from Lexus. Check it out and watch the video. Come back and let us know your opinion. Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/20/lexus-releases-first-teaser-for-next-generation-rx/
  12. In 11 days Lexus will introduce the all new RX 350 and RX 300h. From the video teaser,(included) it looks very cool. My wife has a 2013 RX350 so I'm anxious to see the new make over. Please come back and give the other members your opinion. Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2015/03/20/lexus-releases-first-teaser-for-next-generation-rx/
  13. Hi Felix! Sorry about the snafu. A couple of questions......Do you recall in what forum you did your posting? Do you have trouble logging in? And finally, are you unable to find your profile or just open it when you click on profile? Let us know what's going on. Paul
  14. Hi gil505 and welcome to the LOC. I'm sorry you are having a problem with changing your profile. I have two new Lexus as well and when I filled in the profile information there was room within the "box" to list 2 different cars in a row. In order to do this, when you click on your profile page you should see a heading that say's "Edit profile". When you click on that you should be able to makes your changes. Over the last 60 days we have had buckets full of Spam and Admin in the UK has been working to get our arm around a new Spamer that must spend all of his waking hours making we poor Lexus lovers pull our hair out. Please come back and let us know if you fixed your problem. Paul
  15. Great stuff!! Thanks for posting it. Paul
  16. Hi Alfredo and welcome to the LOC. The Lexus model you list above, to my knowledge, is not available in North America. Please tell us the country you live in and the year and make of your car. Paul
  17. Hi Dan and welcome to the LOC. I had a similar problem with my 2010 ES350. My mp3 player played fine. But when you left the head unit on when you turned the car off, when you came back the whole system was turned off and you had to turn the sound system back on. Even with the dealers help no one could fix the problem. Finally I bought an I pod and everything from then on, went well. In reading the Owners Manual from the 2007 model on down its pretty plain that the sound system is meant to operate it's best when using an Apple product. Does your mp3 use a aux jack or a USB plug? That makes a big difference in some applications. Come back and let us know what you find out. Paul

  19. This is an excellent technical review of the new GS350-F. Lots of features explanation and the same with brake rotors, aluminum frame benefits, and use of "Sport" settings and reduction of steering effort. Check it out and give everyone you opinion on the GS350 F sport. Beyond performance, I like the adjustable side bolsters in the front seats. Paul
  20. Gene and Richard: For additional help with diagnostics you can go to" Craig: "sha4000" Denny: " VBdenny" Paul
  21. I agree Becki. I sometimes wonder if some of the car reviewer's actually ever sit in the car before they write ! Everything in life has both positive and negative parts. Such as the child who was so happy and loving when they were little, who has now hit 13 years and you have a "Night of the Living Dead" kid on your hands!! All in all I guess the author did a fair to positive evaluation, but he needs to remember that his opinion of say the transmission performance is just that. HIS opinion. Paul
  22. In depth review. Definitely worth the read. http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/03/the-lexus-rc-f-means-business/ Do you agree or disagree with the review?? Paul
  23. Hi Russ and welcome to the LOC. I'm not sure your saying that you know where the fuse panels are in the car, or that you first need to find the fuse panels. If you need to find the fuse panel, one of the fuse panels should be mounted on the drivers side foot side panel, and up almost to touching the back of the dash. The other panel should be under the hood and mounted on top of the drivers side front wheel well. Paul
  24. Hi Jude, In visiting with our LOC owner/founder who lives in the UK, the biggest problem with this type of retro-fit, is finding the right parts for the UK and European cars. For example, as you look at your Lexus it looks like any other LS, but the cars name might instead be "Royal" or some thing else. The cars across the pond are not just cookie cutters of the US production. But as Jim said, any experienced auto sound shop should be able to take care of you. Here is "Steve B," user ID. Send him a PM and see if he can help pull together the strings here and answer your questions. lexusoc@gmail.com Let us know how thing's are going. Paul
