Ginzu
Before I had my 92 LS4, I had a 300 hp mustang with a recalibrated 160 mpg speedo. Raced an LS4 on a new, straight, flat and nearly deserted 4-lane, and barely pulled away from the LS4 at an indicated 150. I bet the other driver felt a lot less of the road and a lot safer than I did. Not long after that I decided I had to sell the stang. Recently gave the LS4 to my son, and am a Landcruiser convert (2 1976 FJ55's and a 1992 Landcruiser)
Rya
Not long after that I decided I had to sell the stang. What was the reason that you had to sell it?

Jesterrace
138 before I was chased by the police chopper. :( Had fun explaining that to the judge. No jailtime. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! That must've been scary as hell. I hope never to experience that. Did you make the news?

Ezgoin
how fast has anyone gone in all kinds Did 140 (gps certified) in my 99 SC-300 on the flat. Might of had 5 more in her with enough time, but 140 was about it. Handled solid at that speed. I've had my wife's LS-430 to 135 mph, but not what I'd call solid handling at that speed. Awfully floaty, might be from the Ultra Luxury Air Suspension, but you won't find a better luxury car anywhere! Had my 87 Vette roadster to 170. JoeBazz
how fast has anyone gone in all kinds I got my 93 Sc300 to 140 mph on the NJ turnpike near Newark airport around 11:30 pm. This car is all original except for the Ingen air intake. Only needed about 1 mile or so to go from 85 to 140.I got a little paranoid looking for that hiding trooper even though I have a radar detector. Also I had to get off the next exit. :whistles: :whistles:

schott1984
Update... haha. ~142, again, on the skyway, on the way to the casino. But this time in my room mate's 2004 GS300. It felt like there was plenty more to go around, and I was a little more daring in his car because the brakes are better, and there's less wind noise. And yeah, I was driving. The Mukilteo Rocket
160mph (drag limited)numerous times in my 91' Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. Pulled freakishly hard all the way to 145 and then slowed down it's climb. took maybe 30secs to reach top speed. Felt VERY stable every time w the AWD and AWS. God, I miss that car. 150mph on my modded CBR900RR. Only in 4th gear when I pulled that one off. 140mph in my modded 87 supra NA. Pulled over and received a ticket for 90+ because I was Navy at the time 150mph in my best friend's very modded lightning. Tires still smoking at 80mph 140 in my uncle's Porsche 935 while canyon racing. Think Whale tail. Surprisingly I have only taken my sc400 to 100mph. I think I am outgrowing my speed demon phase. I work for Toyota and getting a wreckless ticket would cause me to lose my job, so I concentrate on going fast in corners now rather than flat out speed. WAY too many cops here in western WA
tekalpha86
I just bought my SC300 and after a tuneup I reached 130 before a cop pulled me over on route 267 in VA
smooth1
well, in my turbo charged IS 300 I pinned the speedometer and continued to accelerate , Knowing that speedometers are way innaccurate over about 120 I would say I got it up to about 170-180 mph. Somewhere around there. The tach read 5900 RPM's and I was in 5th gear and held it there for awhile. I'm running an AEM fic, so that overides the electronically contolled speed limiter. Intelexual
I got my 94 sc400 up to 140mph from a dead stop before i got dangerously close to redline in top gear(auto). Car was a little squirrely but i was far more worried about the 180K logged on the motor.
SCeret
135mph Forwards 85mph backwards : and yes im serious lol.. I got a 92 sc300 auto and if you slowly accelerate backwards you can feel the speed
