1. Check ebay for the veneer I dont know what your paying but Ive noticed a new one on their for $69. 2.Check ebay shifters are constantly on their. And on the install cant you take the piece you are applying it to out b 4 you apply it?Its been awhile since Ive been around a first gen. but I thought that center piece would come out pretty easily.Not for sure but Im sure another 1st gen. owner can help.Good luck.

Car and driver and motortrend both rate a 430 1-2 tenths slower in the 1/4.

I know this has been argued back and forth alot and really wont help much in this case but is just a bit of usefull info.The guys at SRT told me a gs4 was drive by wire and also had a back-up throttle cable in case of a system failure.

What exactly was happening that caused you to go to the dealer?This sure sounds like a tps or pps.Im not sure whrer your pps is but I was under the impression it was part of the tb.Not sure though.I think my car is developing the same prob.

A 430 will not be any faster in fact theyre a little slower.Not trying to start a war just going on all the info Ive read.

Do some shopping around if you do truely need a tb.Did they say what was wrong with your throttle body?I know there seems to be alot of probs with the tps and the dealer always seems eager to replace the whole tb.I dont know if theres a reason for this or of theyre just makin$$.Id ask why you cant just try a tps if there is nothing else wrong with your tb.Please keep us posted as I have a 98 gs4 and Im just waiting for this prob.to happen.

So I called them at first they wouldnt touch it they said they had a hard time getting lexus parts.So I told them I had the carrier and ring and pinion but he mentioned a few seals and some crusher thing.Im going to call around and try to find out exactly what Ill need to open this and reseale it.Ill definatly replace the bearings.Does anyone have any input Im starting to think ive bitten off more than I can chew.

I have tried about every type of pad poss. and recently went back to oem.Ive noticed the oem dont stop as well as some of the ceramics but I dont miss the headaches I had with the others.

I am trying to build my rearend and Im having probs. finding someone who can do it.I have tried the dealer and toyota dealers and they cant do it they say they cant set the backlash.I have a guy who does all my work and he can do it but he is sloooow and I cant go w/o my car for a month.Im sure there are alot of people who will attemt it but im looking for someone reputable yet affordable.Btw im trying to install a 1.5 way trd carrier and a 3;76 ring and pinion.Does anyone know someone who can do this?
