What is this solenoid filter and does My 98 GS4 have one? I just flushed my ps and would hate to have missed something.

I just got my pearl white engine cover and heat shield back and they look sweet.It looks tough but subtle to the average joe they would think its stock. :D

I am running the borlas with the SRT intake and love them both.I cant comment on the Apexi but the Borlas have a subtle rumble at an idle and sound strong when youre in it.As far as the check engine light coming on after the Srt install it wont if installed properly.Ive had mine for almost 4yrs and have never seen my check engine light.For which one to do first Id personally do the intake Youll get more perf. than the mufflers and once you hear your car with this intake youll have the fever or atleast I did.I said the intake was all I was doing when I bought the car and now I cant stop.Good Luck.

Yeah I think my amp is the culprit or atleast a good place to start.So if anyone has a 98 gs amp for the Nak system let me know.

I have a 98 gs with the Nak and Im having some probs.Here is the prob after about an hour of driving with the stereo cranked it gets real staticy and cuts out kinda sounds like a badly scratched cd.Here is what ive figured out it only happens when it is warm out I forgot I had this prob over the fall and spring until it got warm.So I believe it is due to heat.Not sure though.If you turn it down for a few secs it goes away and you can listen at a dacent volume but if you crank it,it comes back in a few minutes.Ive ruled out the Cd player because when this happens Ive changed back and forth between cd and radio and it applies to both.All I can figure either my amp or my deck is the culprit.I have to lean toward the amp.This is a completly stock and untouched Nak stereo.Does this make any sense to anyone? :chairshot:

I personally fell the Gs has the most bang for the buck.Of course this is a bias opinion but whatever small options the Infinity has that the lex doesnt the Lexus makes up for in reliability.Good Luck

105k on my 98 gs4 and it looks and runs perfect.Just had to rebuild the starter but I couldnt be happier.

I dont know what aspect of your warrenty you could void.You can get them on ebay and anyone should be able to install including yourself maybe.

I am in the process of rebuilding my starter and need a few gaskets.Id like oem but im not paying dealer prices.Where is a good place to find these at a good price?Here are the prices the dealer quoted me. Lower intake manifold gaskets,$36.72x2=$73.44 Plentum gasket,$22.99 Throttlebody gasket,$28.55 Coolant bridge gaskets,$13.65x2=$27.30 Butterfly control on back of plentum gasket,$4.93 Tensioner pulley,$81.80(no tensioner just the pulley) $239 for 6 gaskets and a pulley

What would be a good replacement fluid?Other than oem.

I searched everywhere before figuring out it was under the manifold.Now why would they put something so prone to going out in such a tough spot.Ive been very happy working on my car it seemed like they thought of everything when building it but this is too much.

Is it under the intake manifold?

I am going to have my car in for some bodywork and when I do I want to rebuild the starter its been causing some probs.My searches have turned up nothing.Has this been covered or does anyone have any advice? From what I have read this sounds like it could be a pain.
