  1. Not for amateurs.I bought an extra set on ebay to experiment with and destroyed one.Has anyone done this and have any advice?
  2. Definatly sounds like a clearcoat issue.This cant be removed but can be cleared again pretty cheaply if the shop wont correct it.
  3. So no more threads on oils,how about no more on octanes?Use whats recommended.

Im going to have some paintwork dont this week and I was thinking about having my engine cover and heat shield painted the same color as my car.Im sure the heat shield wont be a prob. but my concern is with the engine cover.I know its flimsy so ill have to be careful with it as far as flexing it but the heat is what worries me.It gets pretty hot.I know you can get some high temp paints but I dont think pearl white is available.Has anyone done this or have an opinoin on the temp issue?Thanks
  5. Your on the right track get that car breathing right.That stock air box is very restrictive.The TC is going to cost alot more than the intake.I agree the TC is alot of bang for your buck but the intake is a good start.And forget the drop in filter.
  6. Spend the money and get the SRT.Well worth the extra $.Ive had mine for 3yrs and love it.And your stock box isnt keeping the air any colder.
  7. Ive tried all kinds of pads and had the best luck with oem.Ive used all the big names.Prob. is still there just not as bad with oem.
  8. E-shift all the way.Forget a few more pounds of torque and slower times.Thats if your after performance as you said.Although the nav. in a 430 is alot nicer.I bought my 400 w/o the nav. I couldnt stand the look on the.
  9. Why an alternator why wouldnt you get a storage cell?Or both?Id find an optima.

  12. Surely you have a paint warranty still.If the prob is really with the quality of the job Im confident your dealer would cover it.Ive had my 98 for 5yrs. and 100k and the paint is flawless.
  13. I just took my badges off a few months ago and goo gone didnt do me any good.I used some light buffing compound to get off some of the stubborn stuff.

  15. I was thinking about going with 18x8 in the front and 19x9 in the rear but if I can get a wider tire on the 18s Ill keep them all the way around.I think the staggered would look tough but Id rather have trac.
  16. What is the benefit of this oversized filter and extra oil?Is it really worth the extra cost?

The rims Im looking at have a pretty deep lip they kind of look like m5 wheels and alot of beamers are staggered and look pretty tough.Im not sure if Ill do it for sure.As for rotation Im going to need as mech trac. as poss. so rotating is already out of the question.Will I be able to get a wider tire on an 18x9 than an 19x9 if so I prob. wont go staggered due to my need for trac.
  18. I should be fine in the front Im going staggered 18s in front and 19s in the rear.
  19. Thats the prob. my buddy had was had was a blocked evap. hose.
  20. Have you been running the air?This is just a sugg. but I talked to a guy who had a similiar prob. and it was a plugged air cond. line.
