I'm amazed they totaled that. I ran my 03 ES into a tree last March and did over $7k in damage and they fixed it. However the airbags didn't go off so that may have been part of it. But anyway getting $34k for your RX IMHO is a good deal.

I also like the 5 series but if I were to get a BMW I'd get the M3 Convertible.

We'll see. People forget pretty quickly... Yeah, look how many times have we forgiven GM. ... and people are still buying Chryslers. Last night I test drove a Dodge Challenger and IS 350 C... The Challenger was a nice car but, it's a Chrysler. I've read reviews where little things go wrong and the one I wanted at the dealer had a busted side mirror. How does that happen? It's a brand new car! Now the IS C. This is quite possibly my new favorite car. It was exactly what I want, fast with a touch of luxury, exactly what Lexus is good at, as we all know. I think I'm going to give the Mustang and Camaro another go around and then I think I can decide what I really want.

If I were to get a Mustang I'd wait until the 2011 5.0 GT. I've never been much of a fan of Nissan but I'll give the 370 a shot.

I've been doing my own comparison, but instead of sedans I'm looking for sporty cars. So far I've driven a Saab 9-3 2.0T, Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8T, Mustang GT, and Camaro SS. Amazingly my favorite so far is the Genesis! I'm driving an IS C and possibly an SC tonight so that may change my favorite... I hope so.

My philosophy is that, aside from the wash at the dealer, I will not use a car wash with brushes. Most of the places around here have touchless washes where it just sprays the car like a power washer (not that hard) but nothing touches the car but the soap and water (and wax).

I will never stop eating Chinese food. Sesame chicken... mmmmm, I've never gotten sick... and neither my RX or ES have accelerated unintentionally.

I haven't seen the RX on the list of affected cars. The only Lexus models under the recall are the IS and ES.

I understand that, I'm saying that it's sad that I don't get to hear him the Lexus ads anymore.

So I'm sure you all know Mr. Lexus, the guy who did the voice overs for all the Lexus commercials up till about a year or so ago. Well recently I noticed a Mitsubishi Outlander commercial and as soon as I heard the voice over and I immediately recognized his voice! Either Mitsubishi is moving up in the world, or "Mr. Lexus" is moving down. It's sad though, I miss his voice in the Lexus ads... Here's the Outlander spot if you haven't seen it yet...

For the Audio and Nav section I have to disagree with you, I think the Lincoln has the best system. Have you played with Sync? I am contemplating buying a Mustang GT and the one at the dealer had Sync with a full nav screen and I tried it out. The voice recognition on it is simply amazing. If I want to change the radio channel I just say "Radio, FM, 99.9" and it changes or if I have my iPhone plugged in I say "Play, Artist, Rascal Flats" and BAM it plays. However I agree with you on almost everything else. I couldn't buy a Genesis even if I loved everything about the car just because it's a Hyundai. When I tell people I drive a Lexus I get a 'Whoah'. If I told someone I drove a Hyundai they'd conjure up an image of a Hyundai Accent.

For as long as we've had the ES I've noticed an odd ringing noise coming from the engine. As time has gone by it seems to be getting louder, it may be or it may just be in my head but I really noticed it tonight. It's loud when it's in park but it gets quieter when it's in drive or reverse. The car is still under the CPO warranty so luckily it won't cost me anything if something's wrong but I just wondered if anyone here had an idea where this noise is coming from. Thanks!

I too am a sufferer of MCPS. I've been looking around for a "fun" car to add to my RX. I've looked at... Camaro SS Mustang GT IS 350 C SC 430 (There's a nice '09 Pebble Beach at my local dealer right now, marked down $10k) BMW 135i Convertible BMW 335i Convertible BMW M3 Convertible MB CLK550 Cabriolet Audi S5 Cabriolet I just can't decide, I want them all! As soon as I buy a car I see another car I could have gotten and I wonder if I should have gotten that and then a few months later I want something different.:cries: I know exactly what you mean when you say we notice when cars say M, S, F, etc... I was at NAIAS on Sunday and I noticed how many cars had Brembo written on the calipers. While at the show I sat in an LS and I said to myself "Forget the fun car, trade in the RX and get an LS", I've got MCPS bad! Most people don't flip burgers anymore, you press them. At McDs they have a "clamshell" grill that cooks the bottom and top of the patty at once. One time when I worked there, many moons ago, the owner showed up and she drove a 525i, so I don't know if you'd consider that flipping/pressing burgers for a living or not.

Well if it's for sale at a Lexus dealer it's most likely certified and if that's the case you don't have anything to worry about, the warranty covers as much as a new car warranty does.

I don't know if the LS is like this but on my ES (I haven't checked to see if it's on the RX) there is a knob below the dash to the right of the steering column that you turn to adjust the volume of the beep, turning it all the way turns it off.

Welcome to the club! Your SC is amazing, looks like it just rolled off the showroom! Every time I see one I want one more and more! And to that a** hat who was talking about young people not buying Lexuses, I was 18 when I bought my ES and 19 when I got the RX so shove it!

I put on a pair of Bose headphones the last time I was in an Apple store and it was pretty crazy, there were quite a few people in the store but when I put them on I could barely hear anything. However I would recommend looking at other, not as well known brands, I don't know if you've heard the old saying, "No highs, no lows, must have paid to much for Bose."

Blasphemy! :P I think the BMW ones are good but I still like the Dec to Remember ones better, I like the music, too bad they changed it this year.

But if the F-150 hit you shouldn't his/her insurance cover the cost to fix your car, not yours? Unless they didn't have insurance...

As of right now you have nothing to worry about. I've only heard of issues with the ES but the recall also includes the IS and various Toyota models.
