the battery is not the problem for what is already listed because it would have to have a very faulty cell or cells which would have a problem starting the car does not use the battery to drive only start then it is of no use take your leads off the battery when the car is started and you will see no change i the car in fact it will drive the same way as with it i was just as surprised the first time in class they took it off and tha car did not stop i thought it was a magic car and battery :magic: lmao the rason real race cars don't have batteries as after they are started they have no need for them again and they weigh so much dumg thing i can't figure out is why they don't have the alternator/starter combo like so hybrids which start the car when power is applied the create power when they are forced to turn makes sense to me but i think i might only qualify to be a ford engineer only though so what so i know
-
well lexus are a remarkable vehicle as the slogan goes "have you driven a ford latley" lol
-
i am guessing you are doing this while at idle? most es 300 alternators are crap they stink at idle mine is the same way but not all the time it also tests perfect when i took it out and bench tested it but once the car is hot in the engien bay it has much less power out put too many variables right now to play with you can get a rebulit one or wait until it dies but they usually don't go dead completly
-
did you do all the intake exhaust and sfac at the same time?
-
do the climate control diag as someone posted it works for the sc if not al lexus press the recirc button and the auto at the same tiem and hold then turn the key forward to the on position post the code
-
have you dropped the tranny pan taken out eh mesh filter and cleaned it it may help alot did with miine also may be a clogged return line when is the last tiem you did a fluid change but yes you are stuck with a 92-93 modle camry or es 300 tranny not sure if earlier models shared and will work as they where 2.5 L
-
it contains silicone and some other products which are not good for anything but a shine most if not all car shows never premote the stuff as we all kno of its bad rep i would rather use soapy water and have a matt finish
-
i know of a guy hell he just left my house he has a 94 camry with the 1mz-fe engine which is 94 and up and he put the 92-93 model 5 spd tranny in it would take alot of work as the tranny for the newer ones are linked to the ecu of the car so in his 94 he has his check engine light on all the time
-
nah ballasts are as cool as ice the engine bay area is what heats up which in trun heats the ballasts so velcro might not work great use ty straps they work great for me
-
one solution might be to get performace rotors they will eat through the pads faster but will use less force to stop you as the lx is huge slotted rotors are probably best as it is less likely to crack or warp as the slots release heat and shave the pads also you might want to adjust you braking style by only useing enough brake pressure to keep the vehicle stopped and letting upo on the pedal lightly as i have changed my way of brakeing in my es and now i almost never see any wear on the rotors and tehy have gotten a nice almost chrome finish from the change and yes overtightening can cause a problem but mainly it would be from not sequencing the bolts in a star pattern to acheive a even amount of pressure from the wheel to the hub surface

ahh a little more sense now how long was the inake in the car for is it a drop in filter or a cone cold air one or a short pipe? the car will usually run lean if the computer doesn't realise the change as it is getting more air and now can compensate more fuel did you uplug the computer to reset the ecu after the filter change? if it is a short piep( one that has a filter in the engine bay) take it out and leave it out they are junk it will run even more lean as it will get more hot air ,which equals less oxygen molecules for a slower burn which equals lower performance and gas milage

sorry i always try and post country i guess i forgot since mcv and me are in the same city -
i am glad you posted that k9 nowi know that it works for more than one model as i posted that a few days ago for an es 300 the same procedure marty just an odd thought but what colour is your coolant?
-
best bet is to have it removed get an electironic repair place look at it and clean it as 90% of machine break downs are caused by foreign materials like dust and dirt it also may be the belt popped off for the motor i think the changer is a 10 disc sony i am not too sure though

Water Getting In Between Window And Door
SKperformance replied to lex's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
ok just trying to clarify when the car is washed the outside is wet again when rolled up or the inside of the window? as the outside is very normal as already stated from the seal getting soaked and rewetting the window as for the indise plastic getting wet does this problem also happen with rain? you may want to not aim the power washer nozzel so close to the sills of the window or gasket as it willl force water in rather than let it drip out like when it rains -
well i use the link and save it for view new posts from the loc header but every few days it tells me my search is invalid and i need to do it again so i have to go back to the forum headers press the new post link and then save it to my favorites again any idea why?

all the same kinds pretty much 6500k is more than enough the higher just get too blue less light the ballasts don't really have to be mounted my right side is ty straapped to my abs relay the left is tucked behind the battery all depends on the amopunt of wire lenght in the kit i got mine cheap for a wholesaler as it was for my car not for resale average is about 800-1000 canadian for a good kit

SKperformance replied to MCV20's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
maybe a grand for parts and labour -
they did stop making the kit mcv go this used i got an old stock one that was brand new
-
i have one on my 94 es 300 a good plug and play kit i love it also you need to run a ground wire for the ballasts as the initila spike sometimes need alot more power or it will turn off or flicker that is where the colour change comes from when hids car start
-
if you really want to do it right get the engine cover with the lexus l on it to help complete the look also get a lexus drivers airbag from trd and that would complete the change over and maybe a owners manual from ebay also then sell the car for 1800 more than it is worth because it is a lexus now not so much like a camry later

New To Club Performing Brain And Heart Transplant
SKperformance replied to controlz5's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
i'[ll start with the last first oem parts are well worth the pricec aftermarket ones a re usually very inferior unless it is a ford where anything is better than oem the charger from trd works for the 97 and up es and camry the extra coolers are over kill maybe a tranny and oil in the front but running it to the rear is a loss of pressure being lost stainless steel braided lines are far superior to rubber lines and alot of local machine shops can make them to order with ends already premade the ignition i have no idea about as i haven't looked at an older es ignition system , i only have seen it has wires unlike my 94 which is distributerlesss with coil packs on top of each plug the cold air intake can be done i did it on mine the problem is the sensor bracket needed to attach the piping as the sensor is square the space behind the battery can be used to run 3 inch piping also with a little coaxing to open it up some more to fit it also don;t know of any bushing companies to redo them unless you are experianced with ureathane and can remodel them suspension avail eibach,h and r , and lots of others just look for camry v6 JIC make a real coilover kit that need a little modifying to fit a mcv-10 (92-96)chasiss as it is made for the mcv-20 (97-01) but they cost around 2000 to change the engine is a real waste just sell the car and buy one with it already in and rebuild it if anything the price of the engine and labour would equal one with the motor already in it and working properly by the way i am not sure where you are getting an idea to autocross the car it is yours and you can do anything you want with it but again this is a waste as the frame is not very solid and would need extreme welding mods to stiffen the chasiss so once again it is a waste lots of interesting ideas but the wrong car to do it with -
i might know of someone who had a cover plate which usuqally go for about 450 candadian let me know if you want to looking into this not sure how much he wants
