  1. oh one more thing if the pipe is cracked it may be from the engine mounts being worn or broken check the dog mount one on the right side ( from driver seat) of the engine bay it looks like a big bone with round ends if it is cracked it will cause the problem to reoccur for having too much play
  2. yah you already know it is easy to chaneg remember the v6 camry one is the same rubber pipe try and locate a used one at a junk yard glad you fixed it or atleast know what is wrong without paying for it but don't worry i will send you an invoice what is you adress again lmao i am only kidding
  3. it is definatly a sensor as when the engine is cold it does not use most sensors until warm and runs inan open loop until operating temperature it needs a scan tool hooked up to watch the sensor readings
  4. you have to remove the rear shroud cover on the back of the unit to see the bulbs
  5. interesting idea never heard of a retrofit got a link on ebay? aso how much
  6. if it is only 500 rpms and you obviously are aware it may happen just stay back far enough from any cars infront and keep your foot planted on the brake the more i think about it i would say it is an oxyegn sensor as it gives milliseocnd impules to the ecu to enrich fuel
  7. one more thoguht is a vacum line for the cold start valve it increases idle when there is no vaum to it you might have a broken rubber hose check tehm out and see it is usually right around the throllte plate area of the intake manifold it would be the best bet also try taking a hose off at a time to see which one it is to trace it uplug and the rpms will raise a bit and then lower once replaced only thought is you say it doesn't want ot accelerate properly might even be an o2 sesor causing the car to run rich for a second follow the wire from the exhaust manifold and see if it is being melted or broken somewhere those seem like the 2 best bets
  8. what does your car normally idle at i think mine is 750 rpms but a different engien though if you where coming off the freeway i would say it is the torque convertor also does the ac work normally try it and see if the car is in neutral and you floor it does it raise rpms normally or very slow
  9. a cai is the discrestion of the dealer for a warranty problem but if they want they can deny a claim if they feel it is caused by a changed or modification to me if i had a new car i would not do it a cai first ingests cold dense air from the front of the car away from the bumper cold air is more dense with molecules meaning it will pack more oxygen needed for combustion slightly leaning out the fuel mixture but increasing horsepower and torque second it removes the restrictions of a stock air box as there are water collection boxes attached to siphon out water incase needed this is also a muffler for the intake to decrease the intake noise it is a lexus after all removeing the box and placing a straighter pipe reduces the vacum needed to ingest ari freeing horsepower again to put to the wheels the low end torque curve will also be lowered in rpms but raised in overal power as it is the intial suck the engien can get much easier so it can get going faster remembering the engine is a vacum it sucks and blows anything to help make it easier helps like a hot dog stand straw and a mc donalds straw which one would you rather breath through and the intake will be a bit more noisy or sweeter sounding ( depending on your preferences) which creates air waves whcih also increase induction it saves gas for sure as i went from 400km a tank to over 500 depending on how i felt like driving that week to me it is a win win situation only draw backs are deep pudles over 1 foot deep as the intake will be submerged and wil ingest wateer causeing the engine to lock but there are bypas filters for this purpose and do not buy a short pipe, wrongly know as a ram pipe which sits in the engine bay and sucks in hot air causing a lose in performance and gas milage
  10. don't worry about the meter yours is a large flap design on the edge of the air filter box it doesn't get plugged how high in rpms are the surges if you turn offf the lights and any other electrical system does it change?
  11. sounds like the laser is off but are you putting the discs with the label facing up or down? i think my 94 stock lexus cd player had them face label side down not sure on yours though as mine was trunk and yours is glove box
  12. did you bother to read the faq for the key frequency to see if the alarm key is working and transmitting??
  13. the originals are marketed for the bmw 5 series and are patented there are other options i knew of one person trying to market a set and another company trying to compete for es 300 buisness but don't know what came of it you could buy a retrofit kit for a e36 ( bmw 3 series 92-99) a buit pricey and you still would have to bake open the headlights to install them they are a little clear plastic strip that is attached inside the case
  14. if it sounds odd to you and the noise is not noticable in other ones then have it replaced lexus is good like that if they refuse call head office 1-800-25-lexus in the u.s. 1-800-26-lexus in canada
  15. hey somone finally stumped stevie now that is hard to do with a mcv30 i am not stumped though ,just clueless lol my only thought is a bulb that is the rage with bmw fans it is called silvervison i think by phillips osram they are amber bulbs but have a silver coating so all the cleared signals of there rear and front lights still look clear an not yellowed by the reflection of the bulb it is legal and looks real nice but i warn you they seem to be expensive pretty much everywhere it is illegal to have non amber turns unless red i perfer amber as it is much more direct at attracting that unaware driver of you turning rather than the blend of white or red i switched my white ones back to amber but cleared the rear assembly to give it a cleaner look
  16. you sure know how too make a fool feel special i only help with what i can well i don't think it is the alternator as the surges of rpms will normally cause the lights to get dim as many may have noticed at idle first question is does the car accelerate easily or is it sluggish or bogging it may be the air flow meter i have had this problem with the $1100 part luckly i cleaned and was ok ever since what year is the car and try and be detailed with explainations of how it is driving now i guess no check engine light? you could fo the hell of it try disconnecting the battery and resetting the ecu but i doubt it would do anything oh yah i probably may not answer unless you post rather soon as i am going to cuba in the morning
  17. whoa bbsal don't take me that way i don't mind anyone speaking up to help another i just found it funny i didn't even need to answer and thought it was a nice thing to see helpful members that is all and it isn't over hearing me, like something is wrong feel free to quote anything as long as there is a direct reference if needed
  18. read the faq to find out the radio frequency to see if the key works?
  19. he he mcv you are such a show off lmao later i am kidding you know it looks tight since it is real custum ( i know it is spelled wrong, think accents )
  20. very true stevie congrates you have now made 200 posts and they are not full of dribble like mine lol
  21. sorry now you are sol'd i think that might be the reason the dealer said it would cost so much and 2 hours
  22. no no a camry kit will not fit just the trd one can be lightly modified as it is only lips not whole bumpers
  23. ok you don't NEED spacers but they look and fit much better with them of 5mm
  24. i guess i am spoken for lol yah the kit is made to just unplug the old bulbs abd plug the harness into the ballast directly then it has the new bulbs and its own harness for it to attach then all done takes about 3 minutes no cutting splicing or notthing only thing you might need is gloves if the egine is dirty
