  1. just keep an eye out on ebay they pop up for the good ones every so often and the lxus ones are worth it i am not one for a generic brand with a detailed system car my civic no problem the biggest system to trepai is the a/c
  2. i think someone said they found a harness in another post to plug to a new deck
  3. noticable in that small of a change no 17's yes or 18s definatly but the springs are the first order of buisness to change they are high on roll
  4. i used it and loved it but i do find final inspection a better product for the whole car not just paint such as rubber and chrome i also use the final inspection in before, bettween and after each stage of a 3 stage wax give it a real deep look with 0 haze
  5. nope i am not sure what spectrum is but i know it is not a toyo proxy t1-s it is there semi race tire before the track ra1's
  6. looks liek wal mart is going to have a shortage lol
  7. glad to hear it that you found a much easier solution than what is said funny second time i am wrong for the night but as the last thing i am glad to hear it was much easier than first thought
  8. well i guess i am wrong about the harness and very glad to be ( why the hell don't companies make anything when you actually need them ,like when the car is new) anyway everything else said makes perfect sense the speakers can be changed before the amp but won't sound good until it has a new amp but it still won't sound good till it gets a new head all in all you should replace all speaker wires as well and run them to the trunk with rca to the deck up front
  9. a clay bar comes with a spray for lubeing the paint at the same time mothers makes a kit or a high speed buffer to be used with caution and experiance as it can burn through paint most pros have them and do a whole car for just over 100 plus it will make the whole car look brand new removing any swirls and minor scratches
  10. sorry i could be wrong but have yet to find a lucky sod who wired it in yet th e easiest way ( which happens to be the way i started also) box with sub (s) with its own amp then full range speakers then amp and wiring then deck it is the easiest to hardest way to change the es 300 system
  11. a new head needs new wiring meaning a new amp and wires to it from the new deck and from the amp to the speakers there are no harnesses available as far as i know and have seen the amp is not made to work with a new deck
  12. almost any specified clear coat safe polish is ok to use i have never used that product i tend to stick with the 3 step products as they can do alot more since tehre is no way a 1 step can do 3 at the same time which is clean the paint polish it then wax it just don't use any rubbing compouds it is only for acrylic paint
  13. glad to help to remove use dental floss it helps to do it easy also a hair dryer or a nice hot day helps to loosens the glue up a pre wax cleaner willhelp to remove the rest i posted the same thing about the 3m stuff i the other post a second ago
  14. use neither glue or sealent there is a 3m double sided tape most body shops have it as it stays stuck and is used to reattach mouldings and the like usually can buy a small roll and cut little pieces to stick to angles of the emblem just liek oem
  15. well i guess you already know the 2 problems either the alignment but since it is both wheels i would say you corner a little harder than average that seems to be the most common reason for outside wear since i doubt it is air pressure
  16. good luck you change the deck and tehn you have to change the amp it is not made for any other signal i guess i didn't make it clear in the es faq post i will have to redo some of it but noone of it works with anything else ,it just doesn't work the speakers cannot take more power than they already have they are low power high efficency so they will pop and pop until tehy are blown sorry but to change an es system you need to change all of it at the same time or just add an amp and subs by itself if you want that is easily possible
  17. i am not sur ewhat valve your are talking about there are pretty much 2 kinds of tranny fluid dexron used by toyota gm and the like and type f for fords mainly if he used the wrong fluid it would contaminate the whole system of clutches and especially cause a hard shift i think your mechanic owes you a tranny the valve body is made up of a mze of channels for fliud to run at certain pressures and is openend and closed by check balls to direct flow to the clutches in the tranny but it is metal replaceing that kind of valve woould do nothing sorry i re read you do mean the flap ( valve ) in the ac system
  18. barbra code 41 means air mix damper position sensor value does not change even if the ecu operates it meaning the little flap in the dash is not working properly to give a reading of where it is positioned in regards to blocking hot or cold air off liljohn do you have the all wheel drive or the front wheel only and yah it is kind of irregualr to go bad so quick , es 300 has a slight problem with that as well but i do find all lexus hold there rpm's when cold until it is real high then stumbles into another gear ( same with camry , es 300 and the list goes on, basically it is to get the fliud to temp when any of you had you fluid changed what fliud was used and who did it also was it regualr tranny fluid or synthetic?
  19. problem sounds like it is from a neglected engine the year after yours there is an extended warrenty for 97 and up years for the same problem as they have a slightly differnt design and have higher temps for emmisions causing the problem of the oils startign to evaporate and sludge
  20. here is a pic of my 94 slightly different than yours and the coach edition is an American only sale car it came with different carpets mats and trunk mat as well had perforated leather seats i think a few different colour schemes , different rims and the coach badges other than thatit was the same but the leather alone is remarkable oh yah and coach makes fine leather products so tehy threw in a few pieces of leather luggage as well
  21. i agree witht the junk being junk armour all and black magic and the like the lexol ihave never used although they did send me some free samples last year and i never used them still as dumb as this is going to sound i actually used a tub of co co butter and lather the seats when warm and leave it in the sun it helps the leather absorb moisture and smells great ( like chocolate ) and very cheap ( wal mart ) do it twice a year and the first time 3 times for 2 weeks to give it a kick start of moisture it is skin after all
  22. yah he had an early model white ls400 probably 90-95 ( i think that is the year range)
  23. this sounds stupid but go get your alternator checked from what i have seen cars with dim back lighting and little if any burnt needles have lower than usual output at idle try it and find out i thought mine where dim as well till i changed them all and it was exactly the same a waste of $30 on bulbs form lexus but a fun r&d job some one once said tehy are 194 bulbs but i am sure there must be a letter or something after it as the lights in your rear license plate lights are also 194's go figure
  24. real good question but you already have my 2 although i do sit there in the movies and point out a lexus in the back ground there is a black 97-99 es 300 in the begining credits of becker the eve tv show
  25. just cook them and spread back the ureathane the lights i the picture are from a 00-01 es 300 not 97-99 you could get a slightly similar look but that light has a different inner reflector to give it its jeweled look there are no clear lights though
