  1. it means the solar sensor on the dash sees no light. you tested the system when it was dark didn;t you.
  2. you have no frames on the glass so no obne in North America makes them. I got mine from Japan but they mount to the chrome trim along the roof line.
  3. moved to detailing section
  4. Bad advice from autozone. Each code relates to a specifc snesor and the fault registered to help diagnose the problem. Check the gen maintance section for a list of codes i put there. If you get one code you have one problem .
  5. Nice crown , i still love the soarer emblem . Hmm left hand drive and power folding mirrors. Ahh forget about it , i haven;t even put mine on my ES and i have 2 sets
  6. The 1mz-fe engine in the carmy highlander ES RX are all the same filter Their are very few kinds toyota use and they all fit.
  7. CLeaning any part "carefully" is always a good thing to do. MAF's by nature get dirty like an intake or throttle body, they all need periodic cleaning.
  8. agreed bfi or nothing
  9. I use amsoil in my tranny.
  10. depends on the problem
  11. If you lost 100 miles a tank then something is definatly bronken or not installed properly. Probably timing related ,even knock sensors
  12. OEM filter ,synthetic filters are just marketing hype. A good filter is a good filter and toyota makes a good filter
  13. search This is more than a common question hell it is even in the FAQ
  14. you need to contact "Lexus head office" we are in no way affiliated with them.
  15. moved This is the LS section not the LS one where in Canada are you ?
  16. This is form the car connection the car connection These photos, taken just recently at Germany's famous Nürburgring racetrack, have caught a prototype Lexus LS sedan as it undergoes high-speed testing. At first glance the car appears to be a current production model, but looking closer one can note a modification to the hood on either side of the grille. Also note the large wheels, low-profile tires, and fender bulges front and rear to cover the extra-large tires. All this indicates a future LS sedan with more performance than the current model. A look at the rear, however, shows rather small dual exhaust pipes and not two or even four giant pipes as would be likely in a turbo model or a real high-performance car. So what is this prototype? An educated guess would be a hybrid powerplant coupling a standard-size LS V-8 engine with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive electric motors to give the LS improved performance while also improving fuel economy. © Hans G. 17. I am trying to make some changes to my new toy. Has any of you made any intake or exhaust changes? A nice set of headers might work as well but first is a modified air box to get the ponies up and gas milage down. Let me know what you have done ad how you like it. thanks I have a 98 LS with no air suspension. P.S. i love saying LEXUS V8 POWER everytime i step on the gas.
  18. Sounds like a sticking throttle body from an incomplete rebuild.
  19. Yes, get a set of tein SS coilovers It will give you a much firmer ride but still swallow bumps in the road with ease
  20. pressure = burnt paint It basically comes down to making sure you do not angle the pads into the paint Not going too fast causing heat or pressing down hard Once you create heat it strips off layers faster including paint
  21. It may be in the shock or the hose that is loosing air need to inspect it for leaks . Probably easiest when the car is down
  22. What check engine procedure did you do? The obd-1 or the HVAC system saying the solar sensor is not registering any light?
  23. The easiest way to learn is to work for a detailing shop they will pay you to learn then you can branch off.
  24. Joint? I was pretty sure it was just weak gears. Easiest way is to not use the wheel as ahandle for getting in and out of the car.
  25. that is the HVAC system code for a solar sensor not eh engine computer code. Go and read the general maintance section for more details
