  1. Here is a pic of the underside DKFD posted. Notice the sharp bends i mentioned , if you can smooth them out you will reduce the factory induced turbulence greatly. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=3569
  2. And even with using 4th over 5th you would not even reach the top of the gear under full throttle until lets say 140mph and if you are then you would be going for a top land speed record so you would not be going for acceleration and would leave it in D . So the top speed is not relevant to this now is it?
  3. Get all of the seats, and pull the leather off the new seats and put it on your old seat frame as the foam on the junk yard one will be water logged to say the least.
  4. Homelink uses only 2 wires which are for power. So to modify it to only work with the key turned it is actually really simple. I would rewire it to the auto dim mirror or run a wire back to the fuse panel to run off a fuse that is only on with the key. A 10-20 minute modification.
  5. The maf gets dirty and provides a much improved response time once cleaned. It will still give acceptable readings to the ecu but by having the filament covered in dirt it will make its reaction time slower thus reducing the engine output from increasing as fast as it should or can be. I have been idling my car alot lately and today the overall power output was decreased quite a bit. So i will be cleaning my maf and seafoaming it again to remove the carbon i have built back in the system from granny driving it.
  6. If you have no power and low fuel economy then you have something wrong with your car. Mine is great on gas and has lots of power although it does change the curves over time.A great increase can be gained by cleaning your maf sensor as well if you have carbon build up ,well then without proper maintenance the car will be slow and have bad mileage but it has nothing to do with the car or its engineering just the owner and servicing it.
  7. Looks like a 20X9.5-11 inch 2 peice rim with dunlop sp9000 tires the rims may be made by carlsons or lorinser but i can't tell for sure by the badge , It also looks like it is on an MB S class
  8. Have you narrowed it down to a corner yet? Did you lube your bushings such as sway bar and links? Also make sure your upper strut mount bolts are tight
  9. That is defintaly a non production car as the exhaust piping is not chrome but brushed stainless steel.
  10. The controls are completely controlled by the ecu , the only way to turn off the o/d is by using 4 which shuts off the fifth gear and o/d lock up. There is a huge difference by using power mode and turning off the trac/vsc . It is like gaining 100 hp easy as the ecu maps to a limited amount of wheel spin which is programmed to not let the car accelerate as fast as it can.
  11. 95 000 is the bear minimum it needs to be changed at. There is no definitive answer for how far it can go as there are way too many variables that cannot be measured. Age heat load highway traffic idle milage is a basic marker to judge its time to change it .
  12. In order to extract the full power ni 98 and newer cars you have to have it in power mode vsc off and atleast out of D if not 1st. Once those are set the LS will light up compared to the earlier 95 engine which is slower but not drive by wire controlling the throttle and wheel slip.
  13. a 2 word response helps no one as there are 2 posts above that mention YOU DO NOT HAVE TIE ROD IN THE REAR OF YOUR CAR. Care to expand alittle more on the details?
  14. Was the tranny in power mode? Did you have it in D or O/D ?
  15. iacv being clogged is common. It is a valve not a sensor
  16. moved to the tire section you need to figure out price range is it wet ,dry or mix where you live do you want high traction quiet long life no tire does everything so you need to figure out the importance of each of levels you need
  17. BTW geoff when you read this and get around to refund the money make sure you add $20 for return postage ,as well as remove your feedback that you left me on eBay wrongly. Until that is done this page stands and communications with the autorities will continue.
  18. You can buy homelinks on eBay or wreckers from other cars and they only use 2 wires to power them ,so they are real easy to add.
  19. I would ask a local detailer to let you know how much to make it look new again. For about 200 it should be perfect after.
  20. If you can wire everything back properly then the auto adjustment will still work but you need to be careful not to stress the motors by improper mounting. The fogs will look brighter as it is a short dispersion and a wide range ,while a headlight focus more down the road so it does not look bright.
  21. Then it doesn't really make much difference. Anythign where you get a good installer and after sales support is needed.
  22. If anyone reading this has had a dealing on eBay with Geoff please post it here as his feedback is now hidden and other cannot see possible resolutions. We all deserve our money back not a choosen few with the loudest voices. He seems to be giving some people back there money . I am not sure if i will but i have received negative feedback from him instead. Got to love it ,i get screwed by him twice and he tries to make himself out to be a nice guy.
  23. One thing to remember as well is ,right now it is winter. This means the gas is reformulated for lower temps and behcaves differently . Although it is a stated octane it is also made to help a car start in cold weather. You are just being more sensative to the milage changes as that was the majority of the purchasers wanted . Check your tire pressure and make sure you use premium as well.
  24. I don;t think any ES has wood panel trim around the window switches. Takeing off the door is pretty easy only a couple of screws and it pops off. Take your time and it will take 20 minutes, the hardest to find screw is under the felt in the handle as well as the one covered by a black dot by the dash on the panel.
