  1. Did they add power steering fluid or tranny fluid? Might have not connected the plug for the solenoid over tightened the column nut you did not get an alignment.
  2. A dirty air filter should be checked every 5000 miles and replaced as needed , which is when ever you hold it up to a light and see none come through. A clogged air filter can do many thing but a CEl is unlikely. You should check it your self.
  3. If you know you want to keep it then it is a good idea if you know you want to sell it ,it is a good idea It is not because it is a Lexus but because it is a piece of mind in newer territory than other cars. Either way if you sell or keep it then you have less worries since the price of the warr is probably one component and labour alone ,never mind future repairs if needed. For under $2000 it is a steal I know if i wanted to buy a 2006 400 in 2010 i would choose a higher mileage more expensive one that still had factory issued warr over a lower mileage one that already ran out. On other Lexus it is not that important but you have a special one that could need to be updated to revised parts later as it is still a product in testing in ways.
  4. It sounds like the starter circuit has no power. Have you checked the rest of the ground terminals that go to the engine and body from the battery? Does the radio turn on or just the chime and door open light? If you can jump the wire to start it and it is a 100 amp fuse then i guessed you already looked at the fuse and it is good? Possibilities are the battery grounds the ignition switch i doubt but possible the alarm
  5. I love the high end stuff like JIC 's exhaust . If you want to buy a x pipe get a prefabbed one as it is cheaper and will fit better. I am still against an X pipe as it may sound nice but can only lead to scavenging the exhaust gases from turbulence of the crossing paths. Did you see this post? He did the same thing you are asking about. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=23639&hl=
  6. It becomes a problem with DIY brake jobs not knowing there is more to changing brakes than reseating the pads. You have to grease sliders if applicable (like yours with a floating caliper but not mine with a solid caliper) as well as lubing the pistons before installing the new pads. Also not replacing the shims and adding anti squeal. They are the most common issues to brake failure. Hopefully it is not a problem with the brake booster or abs system not releasing the pressure which it may be since both front wheels are locking up.
  7. Well ................ I received a money back from Geoff on the 16th but was not notified of it by paypal as it was a reversal not a refund. He has since also sent me the additional $20 for postage returning the keys which was $8.45 as well as the $1.13 paypal fee for receiving money. The rest is for wasting time time to get it returned. As well as having the negative feedback he left for me staying on my account but not counted as part of my rating. I am glad this problem is finally resolved and hope it shows as an example of others being ripped off can do something about it if they are persistent and explore all there options. I could not say it would have been the same ending if i was not local to Geoff and was able to get additional information on him for contacting others. Thanks go out to GTi177kw for additional support from down under in contacting others in this regard.
  8. It can be repaired , it needs to be removed and can be welded by a shop who does this all the time. Usually it is rad and gas tank repair shops . they remove the tank clean it and fillit with an inert gas and liquid to make sure they can weld it without causing any fumes to explode.
  9. If you want max power get a pre built one which will have everthing made and look perfect. A dual exhaust is always for looks never power as they lose power over a single setup from the turbulence at the Y . Here is your best bet for all questions on a SC already answered. http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html
  10. Could be a bad pin switch on a door or hood or you have a battery issue, does your clock ever reset when starting?
  11. Agreed with the heat , then ask the lexus parts department to give you new screws for free ,they did for me and fit better than the crap one i paid for at Canadian tire which never fit right.
  12. Bacause they said the heads do not fit the charger manifold. Straight form the horses mouth "they" being Nelson from TRD Canada
  13. Then you would need to get a new ecu or you will be running in limp mode with no cams to adjust so you would lose more than 60 hp from the safety mode.
  14. swapping a camry head will mean no more vvt. The charger is not made for vvt which is the main problem as it has a different head design
  15. ONly one way to know for sure if it will disable and not turn the engine onto a safe mode.
  16. To you it is a simple question. To someone who reads it with more knowledge they have no idea what "exactly" you are asking about and its location. So in order to try and fathom your question they would need to make 3 different conceivable answers for you because you felt you needed to be as brief as possible to save yourself time. Know what i am trying to say?
  17. DO a simple test to confirm this for yourself. Go around your block in drive with lots of stop and go driving and WOT. Then do it in first compare the "G" forces you feel or lack of in each. Make sure you turn off trac and have the pwr mode on or the throttle and tranny will respond slowly.
  18. If you can tint auto windows and know how to pull stretch heat and cool something then you might have a chance. Otherwise do not even attempt it or you will make the RX look really bad with air bubbles and creases. The kits sold should be applied by pros but the pros buy the film in rolls. If you want to protect something and do it yourself do not go any further than using the films made for headlights and fog lights. It is easy to do as most are flat and a small area.
  19. If you have never driven in snow before i would have stuck with a front wheel drive car. Since you already have a GS get a pair of snow tires as the car loves to kick out the back end and spin around with all seasons even with vsc on. Snow tires all the way.
  20. Try and write something alittle longer if you want an answer!
  21. I am sure you could sell it and use the money elsewhere?
  22. If ti is a good body shop they won't ask you they will just apply the paint as the factory does. I take it you are going to be doing it all one colour now?
  23. LMAO that is too funny and so very true, monarch what is the point of posting just to be the complete opposite. Hose is hose a minor difference in diameter inner makes no difference and the outer is completely of no consequence. That is what the clamps are for. Post something with a point rather than to see your post count go up.
