The EGR is the rusty pipes by the throttle body with 2 mushroom looking things. If it gets stuck open you get poor performance but great milage , if stuck closed you get great performance but poor milage.

Why can't you program it to your homelink one? Or do you already have those 3 filled?

Hopefully it is not like mine, while i changed my diff fluid over to Redline 75w90 synthetic i noticed the rear subframe/carrier is off by 2mm on the left side.After feeling the piping i notice i tiny buldge on the left rear corner.So it ever so slightly bends up higher on the left than the right. It now makes sense to me as i always have the left rear corner lower than the rest of the car after i adjust and readjust the damn shocks height. It is also the corner where i had the vibrations ad the bad tire also. It basically came from the previous owner who must have smacked a curb as there is no repaint on the 1/4's. Oh well ,one day i will get a new one. Time for an alignment

The o2 sensors must be hot before they will register any value with the ECU . Until then it just runs in open loop and bypass the sensor. There a a few threads witht eh similar problems which should help you quite a bit on fixing it faster and cheaper.

Considering the pin is made to fit a motorloa type phone it should be able to crossover easy enough. It looks like the cradle is just for power and the plug is for audio signals. If that is so almost any handfree kit can be wired into it very easily with someoen who know electronics or phones.

Good and arm and leg usually go together. I have cliffords on both me Lexus' .one with 2 way paging alarm and remote starter both were not cheap. Clifford and viper are now the same company.

What is a tire rod as it can't be a tie rod as those are connected to front wheels for the steering rack ends.

I just changed my diff oil to redline synthetic 75 90 and it takes almost 2 litres if interested.

Which search told you that you need to pry the switch up? As doing it like that will only reap you a broken switch in your hand You have to take the door panel off to get the switch properly

Before going off and ventureing into new areas ,look at what i asked you to which is your egr ,then you can start coming to conclusions.

In regards to paypal ,here are some ins and outs most people don't know. Paypal has a 45 day window for discrepancies , after that they don't have to take any action and become "no longer involved in the transaction ". So i waited for keys and got a pair that were garbage because they where valet ones and one of them was bent and not even made for my car.I waited for new keys so i had lapsed the 45 day window by 2 weeks and was told there is nothing we can do , case closed. One thing i forgot that Geoff said in his phone call is that , "i have a paypal refund for you and i just got off the phone with them". I told him i have none and until i do i have nothing to say to him. He kept trying to prove his point with useless banter by saying he has a screen shot of the paypal refund he can send me. I told him i don;t give a !Removed! the only thing i want to see is my money back in my pocket , case closed.

So does your scanner montior the EGR flow temp? I would bet that is your problem with the car as it is with most. Give it a good cleaning in the throttle body while you are at it as well.

Sorry to hear from the other members of eBay who were ripped off by Geoff. He called and threatened to come visit me at a Toronto meet so if anyone who was ripped off wants to meet him ,he just might show up so you can have a few words with him. I am sure he will leave his wife and child home though. If he had anything to add to this it should be one thing ,"here is your money and i am sorry and walk away". Instead he likes to throw scare tactics around like they mean something to me. With a scanner that shows you ignition timing you should be able to figure it out pretty simply. If you are looking for directions ,what causes the ignition to !Removed! or not advance? WHat octane gas do you use? Always the same gas station? A/C on? Does you scanner show you if the knock sensors are being triggered? Can you monitor the egr flow temp with your scanner?

GS430 you need to re read what i wrote which is as stated above. Nothing wrong with eBay or paypal as i still use them the problem is with this one seller. I think his problem is that he works for royal bank and they do not take kindly to any fraud being associated with him. So as he is now being investigated his world is shattering around him . Including his very nice condo by the water front. Should i wish him harm , no. Do i want to do him any harm because he stole from me ,again no . The purpose of this page is for anyone who uses eBay to know that there is a seller who does not live up to the normal standards of sales. So it is just a heads up and buyer beware thread. I received a call from Geoff last night saying i would receive a refund from him and that it was already completed .Also he asked me once i received the refund if i would remove this page. Usually on a Lexus the only place you find rust ( on a car that is washed,waxed and has the undercarriage power washed as needed) is where you cannot see it. On my ES300 it had some really bad rust on the rear bumper re bars basically ate it apart but i never washed it as i never thought of the amount of salt that just sat in there and had the corrosion accelerated by the arm moist air from the exhaust getting swirled around in there. At least it still have no other rust on it. I hate knowing i have any rust as it only means i will find more hidden as rust is just like cancer. It starts and keeps going and only gets noticed until it is too big to fix easily.

Well we all know in Canada we use salt to help get rid of ice and snow for winter driving . This has provided me with years of safe driving but also seems to have taken a toll on my LS. I seemed to have a small leak in my trunk which i thought i had fixed. Unfortunately i did not find the spot or area where it was coming from? Here are the details . Where the rubber seal that goes around the trunk lid to stop water from coming in sits (from the taillights along the bottom edge where the actual lock is. I found water dripping lightly down into my spare wheel well. After tracing back the drips i found it was coming from the seal as it was wet on the inner side of the seals. I could just put silicone and call it a day but decided to fix it rather than band aid it. So i pulled off the whole seal and found small little rust spots all along the edge but under where the seal covers. I could not figure this out as it was still sealing very well and in excellent shape still. On closer inspection i found all the sport weld depressions holding the 2 body panels together along the seam had rust. There is over 10 small spots where water has seemed to pool and cause the metal to rust. I spent the last hour with my dremel grinding most of it out.Now the spots are shiny steel and i will finish grinding tomorrow and then priming them before putting a nice coat of black paint to seal it up. Here is my question i doubt anyone else has noticed the leak or the rust but could some of you who have the ucf20/21 1995-2000 body style and pull back the rubber seal to see if you can find any rust from water pooling in there. I am glad i caught it early so i have metal left after removing the rust . It is in a place no one looks but it is very accessible as the seal pulls right off easily and pushes right back on easily as well. If any of you could take a look and let me know as i have a feeling it is a design defect which is causing the water to pool in the tiny spot weld points. thanks

If it is only fenders hood and a bumper plus the paint i would repair it for sure. You can buy a whole front clip with everything and might be even the same colour for about $1000 from a JDM importer.

the bolt pattern and hub bore are identical. So if it is made to oem specs the rim will fit fine. the tire and offset are another question

I would not associate "lexus" with a service advisor or a dealership. They maybe be part of a large corporation but work on there own merits. I would contact the service advisor and request a senior tech to inspect the vehicle and note the differences (they have a few in the states from Japan just for the hybrids). If they do not or cannot find a way to resolve it quickly , call lexus head office and ask them to buy it back and give you a new one , i am sure they will try to fix yours rather quickly at that point.

A very nice read the only problem i have is that all the tires are brand new. I would have loved them to be taken down to 5/32nds (10/32nds is usually new) of tread and then tested for grip in water especially and then the noise. Alot of tires are exceptional when new but get beyond annoying with noise especially bf goodrich and bridge stone tires. Besides almost any new tire has enough siphe depth to remove water but remove half the depth and it is a whole other story. One of the reasons i hate Kuhmo's and love toyo's.
