  1. stock is300 17ich wheel, ran a 215/50r17 speedo was correct. small spacer on rear so my tires would not rub(not z rated tired didnt rub) but there is she was...
  2. u cant use blocks, u dont have leaf springs. u need lowering coils. there use to be a few on ebay. 2.75 inch is not a slight drop on a car...
  3. go with struts, it made a huge difference in handleing(changed at 120k) makde the car feel more solid.
  4. wow this one was dug up.... i know the 1mz with out unplugging the dash, the car would stop at 139mph..did that a few times. never faster.it just wont do it........ but i have severaly slips of 10.3 at 67 mph in the 1/8th.... but she is now sold :(
  5. she is a 4cyc auto, the 4 cyc had enough power for me but that 270 hp v6 would of gotten me into to much trouble. so far she been a great car i put about 1200 miles on her and i am getting 28 mpg just cruising around. but i was getting 25, on the same trip in the es, bluetooth hands free is a trip my first experience with it and i like it. and love the heated seats. i have already tinted the windows and ordeed the factory xm radio kit. we also have a 06 tc with the same 2az motor, but this car makes the tc feel cheap., i also have my 98 tacoma 4x4 , so all three of my vechiles are toyota
  6. well Monday i sold my 97 es 300 for 1000 bucks, with its transmission problem, it wouldn't shift to 2nd with out manually shifting the lever. it was a sad day watching her drive off, i have had her since oct 2001, she had about 60k then i sold her with 164k miles. left the hid headlights and 100w fog lights(with wiring harnes) in her as well as the is300 rims. here is what i replaced her with. every option se camry heated leather seats, heated mirrors, moon roof, spoiler, trd wheels, jbl 440w system 6 disk in dash changer, and an assortment of other things. well it has been fun.
  7. after some research i found out u need a 9006j bulb. but i bet wit some sand paper or a file u could make them fit.
  8. would it change the ride height if they were almost identical in diameter to my stock wheels? I was thinking the same thing you were, but didn't know. Anyone thoughts on this? the thin tire creats and optical illusion that there is more wheel gap. how heavy are those?
  9. I have a 2000 ES300 with the clock, cig lighter, etc, out. I want to check out the appropriate fuse but cannot find the passenger cabin fuse box. If it is behind the coin holder, how do you get at it? Does the coin holder come out or is there some other access? open the coin holder/compartment, and pull parallel to the dash a nice hard tug and it will pop out. don't worry it will not break.
  10. it is the arc inside of the bulb moving, no harm. just make sure your bulbs are nt loose.
  11. Personally, 17" wins IMO. Reasonable tyre price & big choice, ride quality pretty similar, much better handling/ cornering, good looking size too. I would go 225/45/17, but you may prefer 205/50/17. Any bigger and you will upset rolling diameter & comfort, 18" max and then you will need 35 or 40 profile . Dubs are for the teen set, they look wrong on an ES, plus the economy & acceleration suffer. Thanks, I was thinking 17" in my mind but wanted to check. Now to find a rim that will make this car look sexy! lol I dont want it to be to flashy, just a classic handsome look if you know what I mean. I am 33, so no longer a kid. lol i run a 215 50 r17 a littel wide and the same height as stock. i like my rims
  12. stock is 8.2 wide 25.84 tall 215/60r16 is 8.6 wide 26.32 tall work no problem.
  13. ran to the store to buy some oil, and i got some 5w-20, instead of the normal, 5w-30. would it hurt to run the 5w-20 or should i return it.. i dotn feel like driving 20 minutes just to exchage the oil if it wont hurt nothing.
  14. underneath the air box, on the drivers side round black metal thingy.
