  1. Nope , no hail damage just a owner who did not care where he parked and seemed to find the worse spots to park. Luckly i got to know the pdr guy and he is throwing me a deal. Although i did get my wifes car done years ago by someone else for $250 and it was in even worse shape for more dings, hell she backed up into a wheelbarrow handle and dinged it.
  2. Glad it was a simple fix as $300 for a car that looks new is a small price to pay. It is going to cost me $300 just for PDR on my LS ,so consider yourself very lucky to get all that for so cheap. I also have aboiut 25-30 dings all over from 1-3 inchs in size.
  3. Key words you said MadMax, " in my life I just want " It suits your needs for an automobile.
  4. New members cannot PM others. The reset button on the wheel has nothing to do than the cluster display . The easiest thing is to see if the bulbs move up and down on start up before looking at anything else.
  5. Every car has its points and it is true Toyota designs boring cars. There is no life or character to them except for the styling of the IS taillights and the GS handling .Just because the LS drive smooth is not a great feat but that is not what Toyota is aiming for. It has been said before Toyota/Lexus for reliability BMW for driving MB for exterior styling Audi for modern beautiful interiors Jag for classic beautiful interiors Some cars have some of the other but none excel in all areas perfectly. Toyota leads the pack in the easiest to adapt the other feature but continues with bland as a bench mark. We all know i Love Lexus but no one buys it because they love to drive unless they modify it heavily. When they finally wake up and make a tuner house like AMG and //M then they will have something. Until then we will make do with great reliable cars altough the new IS and GS do look very nice they still need some edge which is definatly lacking.
  6. At my local dealers they have a drive through bay for service. The wiper refills are about $10 for the pair 6 and 4 each . So you can reuse the metal and just replace the rubber inserts. It doesn't look that great to have an owner servicing there own car in the drive through so they sent a tech to help get me on my way.
  7. Well just imagine how much fun it will be to change the wiper inserts which are dirt cheap next time. You ever want some simple stuff done by lexus for free, start to mess with your car in the drive through , they send a tech to help get you out of there real quick.
  8. hella/phillips ballasts are the best. But they do nothing for the look of the light only reliability
  9. I am not sure how you could improperly apply the oil and it would cause rust as i have never heard that side of the coin. It is always a great thing just a toss up of wax(paraffin based) or oil.
  10. go to audiworld before you buy one ,they erally are a mess in the electrical department. Get a bmw much more character and pleasure to drive as well as being more reliable by far.
  11. look in the general section for a hvac system check
  12. That is the stock size so you hsould have no problems.
  13. How do the bushings look ? To remove the filter pull the fuel pump fuse and let the system drain the gas before removing the filter . It won't make any difference which end to remove.
  14. Get oem touch up paint from the dealer then use a sanding pen which is just what it sounds like as it allows you to do spot sanding by rubbing the tip of the pen.It is at most parts stores ,i bought one from NAPA. Then use the touch up paint on the spot, finish by waxing the hood.
  15. It cost around $100 and took 4 guys 45minutes to do the underside and drill all panels for access . It worked great and the car is much quieter and smoother sounding. I would recommend it to anyone in any area snow or not as it makes the drive that much comfortable as i used a oil based rustproofing which seeps and has slowly started to lube every possible bushing as well.
  16. By definition a sway bar is to reduce the side to side motion from turns , it is basically a large elastic piece of steel that is bent to allow movement between the 2 wheels it connects. The larger the bar the less it allows one wheel to go higher or lower than the other. The bigger the bar the tighter cornering you can do but it will also cause a loss of traction easier in a corner if it is wet. A stabilizer bar is sometimes called a sway bar but it is usually the connecting rods to a shock or other suspension component to keep it in its intended geometry under compression. All depends on the car and which corner you are dealing with to know which parts are installed.
  17. They don't charge cores if you bring the old part when picking up the new one. They only charge it so they can get you to return the core assembly so they can rebuild it .
  18. Well i spent another 3 hours removing the rest of the trim and found about 30-40 small spots . Everything was superficial and easy to buff off but it meant i needed to do the whole area and remove mouldings and lights to get it all. After grinding the spots with an hand air grinder ( the small ones) with a buff/sand (pad 2 inches) i sprayed the whole edge with semi gloss black which matches the factory black plastic so it only shows in about a foot on each side as everything else is covered and it blends well. I have an appointment to have it rust proofed and undercoated in another hour to get the other areas i can't see looked after.

  20. The larger the pipe the louder it will be . 2-2.25 is perfect for a dual setup and 3 inch pipe for any collector piping.
