We have been to this dance before. On average you would lose 2 mpg running 87 over premium in a 400 series. That is why they recommend a higher octane. jcrome..put that quotient in your arithmatic and get back to us. Should be interesting. For you doubters, Lexus is showing the highest mpg obtainable for the ratio and not interested in the oil industry..at all. As far as getting more power or mpg on a lower octane rated vehicle with premium, wishful thinking.

Plamma, sorry for the distraction, I have the ML and find I have no problems with viewing XM artist on my system. Have not burned to my hard disc and can't see why that should be a problem. Call your Dealer and let us know. It is a chore to figure this car out

I have really looked into this for you guys wanting to play as you drive. I searched IIHS and other sites as to why Lexus keeps a minimum on the nav and have found no answers. Not even a savings on insurance. For me, as I drive along and see people with their cells in their ears and cutting me off, I get a sense of why no more distractions should be acceptable and don't mind using voice to tell my car where I want to go. If I'm lost (unacceptable for a male) I usually have a good idea as to where I want to go before I even leave the house. :whistles: As far as checking my music, I have a good sense of what I want to listen to (Blues). Never would dream of watching a DVD in motion. Personaly, I would be affronted if my girl friend/wife changed my destination while I was driving. I have listened to that before and can't imagine her on the screen. Male thing again, forget the passenger seat lock out, ;) We pride ourselves on our primitive sense of direction or is it erection..Sorry. :o Anyways, all this ballyhoo about lock out comes down to you, The Driver and Safety. I cannot imagine inputting my screen while driving as it takes away from the task at hand, being the safety of my passengers and those around me (other drivers). If that is all omnipotent, then get a car where you can "multitask".. Obviously, a Lexus is not for you. But stay away from me. IMHO, God Bless and drive safely and responsibly. A life may depend on you and it could be yours.

Really depends on the color of the vehicle for me. I think they are nice on darker colors and not too overstated. The LS has always had a reputation of understatement as far as wheels go. So this time I went somewhere in the middle.

First of all give us your original problem, why the fuel pump and did you check the fuses with a meter as those sneaky suckers can look good but you can't tell with eye view. Some real good aces here, lol not me, but the more history helps us to solve the problem. Some aces will step in from here and help you. A good club. ;)

As you guys could see in my pics for the last year my "former employee" (he earned it) has brought a 2007 s550 and a 08 s600 to my doorstep for a month at a time. Traded my 430 on a 460. Why?..I can buy any car I want because I worked hard, saved, invested and want the best. My 460 is quieter, smoother, better Nav, (Mark Levinson is 100% improved over my 430). Kicks !Removed! over the Harmon/K Merc and Bass man is up!!! and it (460) lights up when I am near...lol kicked his !Removed!..Also kicked his butt as my doors only need to be closed gently to take it home. His doors on both classes need to be driven to close. He asked why and they said that's how it is. The s550 is nice and bigger but not nearly the toys for $20k more. More noise in that car than my 430. Serious. The S600 has !Removed! amount of power and brakes, nicer interior and drives like a Porsche , still noisier can't deny 520hp boogies. Buy two 460 M/L, Nav for a 600. Nix. I really considered the s550 as most of you know. I have owned Mercedes in the past and that Star is dear to my heart..but after a 400, 430 and the 460 it all improves. Bumps are more noticeable but the car is stiffer, subtly, which I think they needed to get rid of the boulevard ride. But it is quiter. Can't explain it, just feels better and the seats are 100% better which was always a !Removed! of mine on the 400/430. Go drive one is all I can say. You will feel the difference. Good or bad. Don't know who these new guys are with problems and I hope they get them resolved. I for one, have no issues or I would be the first to tell you guys. Take it from me, I have driven them both (Mercedes) in which the air ride died here on the 550 with 5600 miles, including a $150k step up 600. A fine car he has, but not worth a house. I like to rent those houses ;)

Sounds like the heat from the lamp is causing contact separation. Pull the lamp and clean its contact and the plug contact with a contact cleaner or eraser and try again.

Steve, Streeeeetchh to a 460 you won't regret it. Totaly different ride and drive. Drive the two. You will be impressed. Not that a 430 is a slug. Drive the two. Any one of the two is not a loss. ;)
