  1. I go my 10,000 mile oil change at the dealer and it cost $260(!!!) My 15,000 mile oilchange I went to Jiffy Lube! There was no problem. We go to our local Toyota dealership for oil changes. I hate when people say our ES is a "dressed up Camry" but I will swallow my pride and get the $24 Camry oil change any day.
  2. FWIW, Bose speakers in automotive applications are engineered and tuned for whatever particular vehicle they are installed in, just as the Mark Levinson system is tuned just for the specific Lexus model. Because the interior environment of each vehicle body is different, simply putting Bose speakers in your ES will not make it sound like your old Maxima. I think the ML system is outstanding personally, but I guess that is just my prefernce. My guess is that it will not be as easy as swapping one speaker for another because of the electronics behind both the Bose and ML systems. I know this is a dumb question but, have to tried adjusting the tone controls and such for your system? Just as a note of disclosure, I am not a fan of Bose products, but I do think their automotive applications are pretty good, especially in the Maxima. However, I think the Levinson system is a cut above.
  3. Today I detailled our Toyota which was long overdue. I washed it and clayed the hood, roof, and trunk. Then I got the PC and used Menzerna Intensive Polish and Final Polish then topped it off with some Meguiars NXT ( I had a little left in the bottle that I wanted to get rid of). The car looks awesome, especially for it to be 12 years old. The whole process took about 4 hours. About 3 hours into it my hands started to cramp up. I thought I had plenty to drink and it was not hot out today so I was not sweating much at all. I am wondering if the vibrarion from the PC has anything to do with this. My hands are a little tired now but they need to rest fast because I am detailling the ES tomorrow.
  4. Does anyone use microfiber towels from places like Walmart, Target, Pep Boys, etc? Or does everyone just order from online. I have about 20 microfiber cloths I use for cleaning and buffing and four microfiber drying towels. I ordered all of them from Classic Motoring but I was in Target today and I saw some cloths that looked and felt ok. At least good enough for cleaning and buffing. I'm not ssure wether or not they were made in Korea or China. I have read where a lot of the Chinese microfibers are of cheap quality. These cloths were a 70/20 blend.
  5. We have the Ruby Red Metallic ES350 as well. I spent about 8 hours polishing and waxing it to perfection only to have it ruined by the "detailers" at the dealership. I have instructed my wife to no longer allow them to wash the car, even if it is complementary. Who knows what they use in their shop.
  6. My wife and I recently upgraded her Camry for a 2007 ES 350. My wife's father had two Lexus' ('02 ES and '04 LS) and my wife had a heart and mind set on getting one. Although Lexus would not have been my first choice, I have to admit that this car is very nice. It is way more than I expected. It is a lot more than a "fancy Camry" as some would like to say. We have the Ruby Red Metallic with the tan/cream interior and the 10 spoke Graphite-polished wheels. This car looks awesome in the sun, especially since I have polished, glazed, and waxed it. Between the two of us we have figured out all of the features, but there is one thing I have yet to figure out; how do I get the windshield wipers up off of the windshield to clean the bottom of the windshield? Could someone please help me out with that. Thanks
