  1. Lexus has learned that their flux and solder combo was not quite correct in previous years. Heat would make conductivity and cold would shut it down after a few years of cold and hot. That is why you have to send your boards to the wizards to suck and change it out along with subgrade capacitors. Some guys on here do it themselves and others, less experienced, send them out. Not sure of the solder ratio but some of these guys know.
  2. Was it cooling when you left? When you do a conversion it is imperative that you change the evaporator. Find a new mechanic. I wish you luck and let us know.
  3. It is "not" a one time loan Josh..Check here..http://www.valoans.com/valoan-tip08.cfm..I used mine twice and can use it again as was explained to me. Keep in mind it is a guarantee and not a loan from the VA. You meet your obligations on the exhisting loan and you have residual for your next home up to around $400k.
  4. Obviously stays, as Steve mentioned, or I'm inclined to flat spotting on the tires. I would be so po'd if I did not have a resolution ASAP!!!
  5. 3 questions come to mind..1. what was replaced on the conversion? 2. Do you still have a charge? 3. Doe the compressor kick in? Lets start there. Remember the sensor contacts are underneath the compressor and must be removed in order to clean them.
  6. Josh, Have you looked at a VA guaranteed loan with 0 down? That's how I bought my first home when I got out of the Navy. Not sure how it works today.
  7. I am referring to the whole mirror housing. Spray the base with them in and then again with them out. Use whatever you are comfortable with. They can be manualy moved to spray if they are stuck.
  8. Very simple, Silicone spray the black rubber around the mirrors, at the base, every year. Works like a charm. :whistles:
  9. Congratulations on purchasing a fine automobile. It will be one of the prides of your lifetime. The 430 is rock solid and the 460 has some growing pains. I'm sure they 460 problems will be addressed over time but for now the 430 is as good as it gets. You did well!!! Welcome to LOC!!
  10. This appears to be a serious concern. Please keep us posted.
  11. The filter on the 02 is in the back of the lower glove box. I am not sure if a non OEM filter is available. Maybe on E-bay. OEM= http://beta.lexus-parts.com/
  12. Sounds to be a bad bearing on the serpentine belt route. Could be the ac compressor or the water pump. I would get to a shop asap before more damage is done.
  13. Go Steve....Hair up on the back? You are right and I found it offensive myself. Good luck on the investment.
  14. Nice step up...Congratulations!!!!!
  15. DC..I am no good without fresh ground coffee (3 cups) and a large shot of apple juice with my Daily Vitamin for guys over 50? Seems to wake me up but not like it was when I was sixteen :whistles:
  16. This is funny!!! Don't read the comments as they are a bit RAW..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BtNN6M97q8
  17. On the 90 LS.that would be the high side. The low side is against the firewall on the passenger side.
  18. The RPM sensor connector is underneath the compressor and a little trickey to get to. I cleaned mine on the 90 LS and the blinking stopped.

    "a Funny"

In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin. Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to lit erally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO. Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky !Removed! and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them
  20. Sounds like they disturbed a connector or wiring when they went in to replace the cable.
