  1. I am selling my baby. It's a silver Lexus LS400. These are some of the best cars that have ever been made on earth. Read up on them if you want, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS#First_generation_.28UCF10.29) This car has served me very well for over 2 years. I bought the car with 198k miles on it. It currently has 238k on it. It is my daily driver, but I only drove to school and part-time job mainly. Very few repairs were needed. This car runs like a champ. Price is $2750 firm. Highlights: Clean interior. New struts all around. New UCA and sway bar bushings. Oil changes every 3,000 miles. New front tires. Good rear tires. 4.0L V8. Very smooth. Gets around 20mpg. Double wishbone suspension all around. Great handling and amazingly smooth ride. Heated, power side mirrors. Automatic climate controls with ice cold A/C. Power tilt with memory and telescopic steering wheel. Lights turn off automatically. Sunroof with tilt vent. Rear view mirror has a LCD dimmer. Vehicle and radio theft systems. Pioneer audio system. Tool kit and first aid kit in the trunk. Heated front seats. 6-Disc CD changer. Traction control system. Keyless entry. Bad: Minor wear on the leather in 3 places. Wood grain center console has a couple cracks. Front bumper has 1 small dent. Bottom of 2 doors has some rust from MN salt. Please send me emails if your interested at snowboarder117@hotmail.com If you don't feel like waiting for the email, call my cell 763-234-7610 My name is Alex. I live in central MN north of the cities. If you are very interested in buying it I am willing to drive it to wherever you are located in the MN/WI/ND/SD area if cover the gas costs of getting it out there. Otherwise local pickup is fine, but I will not ship. Cash is needed Thanks!!
  2. That car looks mint. If that's what your looking for BUY IT! :)
  3. Hey it's great (and sad) to see that someone else has the exact same problem. Let's me know that what I was looking into is what's wrong with it. Right now I'm looking into buying a used transmission and swapping the solenoid and O/D sensor from the used one. The used trans has 106k on it and it's $300. Whereas the brand new solenoid and sensor from Lexus would be $400. I'll do some testing next week in my auto class and then report back.
  4. Just an update guys. Checked the codes for my tranny. Found out I have faulty electrical in the transmission. No. 2 Solenoid has an open or short circuit. OD direct clutch speed sensor signal malfunction. Has anyone had any experience with those? I called the Lexus dealer to get estimates on the cost of those, but I'm still waiting on a call back. I'm expecting to crap my pants with the price.
  5. Their alluminum wheels right? put em at 100 ftlb steel than put em at 90 ftlb or else just take that nifty impact and zap em down till their tight. who cares!!?
  6. I hope you paypal me if it works out ;) Reading the options those LS430's have it makes me almost want to just ride in the back seat of one instead of drive it...almost.
  7. one located in Pennsylvania. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-LS-Ul...#ht_3250wt_1316 ------------------------------------------- One that is mint! Residing in Florida. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-LS-UL...ht_35115wt_1316 More in Miami. http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/ctd/1159955601.html
  8. I would borrow the money and save the springs in case you want to go back int he future to sell it to your grandpa ;) haha! Yea don't ruin your OEM springs. Just stick it out with your ride height until you can do it right. Doing it cheap always ends up !Removed! something up.
  9. Grandpa's don't drive lowered, murdered out Lexus's either :) So lower that !Removed!! And I think you need darker tint. Darker dark dark.
  10. Is the Modern Luxury lower than Ultra? I'm assuming so...but anyways here's one. I don't know exactly what options are in the Ultra but I found a few cars that fit your other criteria. Black ones: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/1172153237.html White ones: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/ctd/1178847682.html http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/ctd/1177473539.html http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/ctd/1164179490.html http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/ctd/1178445300.html (this one is silver and a 2001, but only 15k original miles. May want to check it out) http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ctd/1175265360.html
  11. You LS400 is beautiful!! I have a '91 also and it is silver with the slightly lower trim package. I noticed yours has the LS400 emblem on the right side. Mine doesn't, and I haven't notice an older one before that had it. Is it aftermarket or was that added with the higher trim package?
  12. Drilled 2 small holes on the left and right of center in the deepest parts of the spare wheel well. Testing to see if that will drain the water significantly enough to keep it dry. Prolly not.
  13. or just replace the seal right away and then check the trunk for leaks before you install it.
