  1. How about something like This!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-GS-LO...1QQcmdZViewItem I know it is in NY but I may be able to find one in Houston if she is interested. Awful low miles though.
  2. Why are you going back to the 470? Any gripes with the 460?
  3. Since you are looking for used I would recommend the Six as the retained value will be higher plus less wear. Then she would smile when She puts the "Hammer" Down!!!
  4. How to tell if you are Democrat, Republican or Southerner.... Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock 40 cal, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ................................................ Democrat's Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, now what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day, and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus. ............... .................................. Republican's Answer: BANG! ................................................ Southerner's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?" Son: "Can I shoot the next one!" Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!"
  5. You could also try spraying wd 40 and let it sit for an hour or so and then spraying some teflon in there.

  7. The details are in your manual..and yes, I recommend you have the dealer do the major maintenance periods as it will pay off in peace of mind as well as resale value down the road. ;)
  8. The fuel pump heats up from low levels thus shortening the life of the pump.
  9. Happy Holidays, all and be safe. ;) B)
  10. That is usually a sign of a weakened battery or alternator. Usually the battery. Have it checked out.
  11. That would be normal due to the fact that the main drive in the rear is the sub..woofer. Keep the fade in the middle for the best sound front and rear.
  12. pweber5 The simple answer is they took a great engine and added torque and horsepower..not an issue if you do the maintenance..
  13. I have spent the past week driving a two week old S550 Mercedes that my friend bought just before visiting from Florida. Remeber I am comparing my 02 430 which I know is not quite fair. I have not seen a LS460 up close. Obviously the Benz is larger and the interior shows it. The first thing I noticed is the ride is smoother due to the longer wheel base and it feels the same as the LS as far as steering. His manual recommended 29psi all around for the smoothest ride. You do sacrifice some tire life but he wants smooth. I plan on lowering my psi to see the difference. We did not drive it in sport mode so I can't comment on that. The cabin is gorgeous and feels grown up. The ambient lighting at nite will knock your socks off. Recessed lighting all around the cabin under the wood trim front to rear. Brighter screen of course, Blue Tooth and a pcmica card slot to load your mp3 music. 190GB hard drive for the nav and other features. I like the seats better as they were tighter, not harder, than my LS. 0-60 5.4 secs and I believe it. Sticker price was $89k. At first he wanted the 460 but could not get one for 4 months and the package he wanted came in around the $82k range so he opted for the Benz and traded a 98 ls400 and a 06 330. As far as wind noise the LS is quieter and there is wind noise from the mirrors. The Benz has less road noise possibly due to tire pressure. You can also hear cars pass going the opposite direction that I don't hear in my LS. I am hard of hearing lol. It has a lot of presence and people really do rubberneck it. One point of interest is you are allowed to change "any" programmable feature on the car including Favorites buttons and change the azimuth of the viewing screen from driver to passenger. You are also allowed to change destination on the fly. The trunk is the same as my LS but the back seat is cavernous. A great experience and I will keeps tabs on the reliability. Also i will mention the scratch proof paint and mirrored finish which I believe was extra.
  14. We have seen this time after time...Do a full tune-up with OEM or parts recommended on this forum or sell the car. Jeez guys it is so easy to maintain a 400 if you would quit sparing the dollar..and change all the mounts at 100k miles. If you are over 100k miles there are a lot of issues you need to address and all are covered on this forum from experienced owners. A 400 will go forever if you put the money into maintenance and along the way you have to ask yourself..should I keep it or trade up? I, traded up because it was getting more expensive to maintain than the cost of a 430 overall, one year and not an issue. I have never looked back and do my maintenance schedule as declared. I understand some of you cannot move up and my point is to not cut corners on the maintenance of your 400. I also understand there are some of you late model 400's that are perfectly satisfied. Nice cars ;) This forum has a wealth of knowledge, experience and know how...Please use it wisely and remember a Lexus was built the best and deserves the best parts you can find..and a kiss on the hood never hurts. ;)
  15. No Hamma? Thanks Rob, Have a good safe trip...

  18. I agree with DC... I too have done 99% of the cooking and enjoy it. LOL.. I call my bathroom the "Cooking Library" as it is lined with cookbooks. But my cooking doesn't stink!!! ;)
  19. A review by Fortune senior Editor...http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/12/01/lexus_review.fsb/index.html
  20. I saw on the news two days ago where two people have been sent to prison in the U.S. due to evidence provided by these boxes of excess speed in regard to vehicular manslaughter. Most 2002 and newer vehicles have them. They are supposed to monitor air bag deployment and speed upon their deployment. Yes, they are being used in courtrooms.
