  1. use the search function, search on P0441 Lots of threads come up. sj
  2. Jack that wheel off the ground. Firmly grasp the wheel at 12 and 6 oclock. Push in on the top and pull out on the bottom of the tire. It should not move at all. If you can here any faint clucking, or if the wheel feels like it jiggles, there is a good chance the wheel bearing is shot. That can cause a growl type of noise. Does the noise pitch increase with vehicle speed? steviej
  3. "The same problems you are having",: Is that before or after the TSB reprogramming? steviej
  4. Pre-1999 are NON-INTERFERENCE 1999 - 2005 are INTERFERENCE Like mburn eluded to earlier, an easy way to remember is: VVTi stands for Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. I always remember it as Variable Valve Timing with INTERFERENCE. VVTi was introduced with the 1999 model year. steviej
  5. we do so you have moderators online 24x7? retirement must be nice. :D Thank you. Like I said in my first post: we try to do our best. not yet. in few days, I am using this as a learning example for other members. :whistles: :whistles: :D :D Thanks for your help Alan. steviej
  6. Settle down Alan. Sorry to say, but moderators and administrators can't be on every minute of the day. We get to these nuisance threads when we can. They are removed and the author is warned. We usually get to these within 12 hours or so of the original post. Please be patient, we will get to them. steviej
  7. then use the IMG button above the text box. IMG = In My Gallery. Go to you picture in the gallery, open it big, right click, then click on properties. copy the http// address for the picture. Go back to your post, go to reply, then in the text box while you are replying, click on the IMG button and paste the address of your picture in the box provided when the IMG window opens. Click OK and the picture will be inserted into the text area. Hint, when inserting multiple pictures into my posts, I find it helpful to open LOC twice on my computer. One is open to the gallery and the other I log into to post. This way it is easier to toggle back and forth and not loose my reply text. again, go practice with this stuff. It is how you learn. steviej
  8. Ok, here is how. 1. Before you post, resize your pics on your computer to about 400x300 pixels and save the picture to a a file size less than 100 kb. This is only for courtesy to those on dial up and to reduce the amount of space each file takes up. 2. Click on "Reply" or ADD REPLY to open the text box of your post. 3. Enter the text that you want to do. You can move the pictures to where you want between the text after each insertion of the picture file. Or you can text and insert and type and insert, etc. Doesn't matter. 4. Scroll down to the section below the text box, File Attachment. 5. Click on BROWSE button in that section. You Windows Choose File box will open. Navigate you computer through this box to find your file. 6. Select the file you want to upload and click on the Open box that is in the Choose file window. 7. Back in the "File Attachment" section of LOC is a button that says "Add This Attachment". Click it. It may take a few seconds depending on how big the file is. 8. When the file is uploaded, the screen refreshes and then the file is listed on your screen under File Attachments. Click the box that says "Add Into Post" 9. Your file is now in the beginning of the text box as [attachmentid=####]. 10. Highlight and move the [attachmentid=####] to where ever you want it in your post. 11. Repeat this procedure to get more pictures in the post. 12. You can line the [attachmentid=####][attachmentid=####] horizontially. 13 or you can line them up veritacally by putting a carriage return (enter) after each [attachmentid=####]. 14. When you are done, click the Add Reply box at the very end to post you reply including the pictures. Try it a few times, just don't hit the Add Reply at the end if you are only practicing and really don't want to post. If you hit the BACK button on the windows bar, it will erase all your work. steviej
  9. nicksan, It is time to move on. With every door that closes behind you, there is another opening in front of you. Check out Bay Ridge and make the best of what you have. steviej
  10. I can't say enough about Lexus of Norwood. The sales people are either there for a day or there forever. But you only deal with them for the sale. The remainder of your time is spent at service and they are top notch. Never had a problem or a disappointment. If you go to Lexus of Watertown, ask for a Sales Manager named Terry, he is a friend of mine. A collegue uses there service and is satisfied. I have read one thread on this site where a member was totally PO'd by them. The dealership in Danvers (Ira), Northborough and RI (Islip) are too far for me to even go to. However, my aunt bought her ES and now here AWD GS from Islip and has never mentioned any problems. steviej
  11. Wix are very reputable as are Mobil 1, K&N Gold, and Toyota OEM. sj
  12. Today was a shock. $2.39 for 87, 2.49 for 89 and 2.59 for 93 octane. I was very upset to read today that the major oil producers are still making a 30%-40% profit per barrel and our pumps are at 97% capacity. Makes you think. steviej
  13. the ES does not have a rear axis (I am guessing you meant axle). I think you will find the speed sensor in the transmission. perhaps you meant ABS sensor? steviej
  14. Vent shades are the plastic awning type overhangs that can be put on doors to allow the window to be slightly open when it is raining. steviej
  15. that's odd, I have not seen any decrease in my mileage at all (still 22-24 mpg around town). Personally, I am still pleased with the upgrade. steviej
  16. I concur with lexusk8 on the 9 spoke stock ES wheel. Another wheel I find very appealing from Lexus/Toyota is the 5 spoke that come with the platinum edition ES, it can also be seen on high end Avalons and Higlanders. (sorry, no pic to show). steviej
  17. many people have done this and they look real nice. However, i think you are back to having to use spacers again on the rear wheels as the IS is RWD. steviej
  18. that's promising. I am interested in the new Michelin Exaltas. steviej
  19. Consider this, take a look at the 17" wheels for the 05 ES 330. They are very similar to the 5 spoke from the RX but are designed for the ES so the rim offset should be correct without the use of spacers. steviej
  20. do a search on Idle Air Control Valve steviej
  21. sunman, PLEASE stop yelling. I must say, all your mods sound incredible.
  22. take look at lextech.org for a cheaper alternative to instrument cluster repair. Several members have had success. steviej
  23. sad thing is that wheel locks, the club, most alarm systems, etc are to help prevent against the novice thief or PITA thief. Lets face it, if a professional wants your rims or even the whole car, lug locks or not, they are going to get them. just make sure your are covered for theft and damage. steviej
