  2. If I can achieve the same thing by just pulling the ECU fuse, then I might try it. Disconnecting the battery means I loose all my radio and seat presets everytime. On second thought, won't the result of the first ECU reset be the same as the 10th ECU reset. It always goes back to default, so whatever it learns, it loses. steviej
  3. if you are promoting a product or business for personal financial gain (even if it is just $5 a unit) and you are not an authorized vendor then it is against the club rules. Enough said. Your options are to become a gold member and post you sales pitch in the proper forum immediately, contribute to the website with over 20 legitamite posts then post your product in the proper forum, or become an authorized vendor. I am not against your product in any means, I am just enforcing the rules and guidelines upon which this website operates.   4. DENSO and the part number is actually inscribed on the side. Considering that it is used and my be dirty, I needed a magnifying glass to make sure I had the right match. Also when you get the new one, match it up side by side and the length of the wire is key. steviej

  6. unfortunately O2 sensors and/or A/F sensors are not covered under that warranty either. Bank 1 Sensor 1 (B1S1) is the rear bank, between the exhaust manifold and the cat. Good luck getting at it. This sensor went on my 02 ES when I had less than 40k miles on it. That was covered by the warranty, thank god, cause it is a bietch to get to. If you go under the car, don't get confused with Bank 1 Sensor 2 (B1S2)which will be staring you in the face. B1S2 is the sensor in the U section of the exhuast pipe and is not the suspect sensor in your case. Bank 2 Sensor 1 (B2S1) went last May on the way home from Canada. That was easy to change out. Cost me $225 from a Toyota dealership. Lexus wanted $250. steviej

  8. your are not passing the buck to a poor sap if you are completely open with them. Be honest and tell them about your lack of driving the car and that the battery is new (assuming you replace it). For all you know you may sell it to and electronics master technician and he finds the drain and fixes it. one man's lump of coal is another man's diamond. steviej

As for the modulator, I think you will find that most members are trying to avoid this type of setup due to the poor and inconsistent transmission that are often obtained. I gather from all the posts that have been made on this subject, that most people would prefer a hardwired system to maintain clarity of signal. I think the least that anyone would settle for is a cable to cassette adapter (assuming that their sound system even has a tape deck included). steviej

  11. it's most likely the expansion valve. common problem on early model ES A/C systems. Previous posts put repair at about 5 bills. gut instinct says go with the 96. check both for oil residue around the valve covers and rear seal. These are common ailments of the early ES's too. steviej

On my 2002 1MZFE, the price I would be willing to pay would be directly proportional to the guarantee/warranty that comes with the turbo unit and said warranty would have to cover any problems that may develop in other areas of the powertrain and ECU systems due to the application of the turbo. steviej
  14. If you tamper with it yourself after the windshield place said they fixed it, then the windshield place has no obligation to help you further. Call them again and tell them it is still not working. Give them opportunity to fix it. If they can't, inquire as to whether or not they will reimburse you to have a Lexus knowledgable shop repair it or bring it back to operation. Does this windshield place deal with rain sensors and Lexus windshields on a regular basis? When I had to have my windshield replaced, I called my dealership to find out who they outsource their window business to. Turns out it was 20 mintues from my house. Lastly, make sure a fuse isn't blown and that a wire may not have become disconnected. Does the electroni mirror still function? steviej
  15. 2005 is under warranty, get your money's worth while you can!!!!!$$$$$ Bring it in, have them look at it, replace it if necessary and any rattles that may develop for free. While you are there, drink their coffee, eat their donuts, and relax. While you are waiting, go to the showroom, sit and another 05 and see if it is the same as yours or is it "flusher". steviej

So are you now telling us that all the torment you went through with the snake at your original Lexus dealer about the battery continually going dead was because you actually didn't drive the car that much. If memory serves me correctly (I am too lazy to reread all your threads), you had the battery replaced three times. nicksan, why don't you save the money you would spend on a yellow or red top and just make it a point to drive the ES a couple of hours each week to charge the battery up? Seems like the easier and cheaper alternative. steviej
  17. First try a CD cleaner disc, MAXELL makes a good one. The last thing you want to do is misalign the read head or LED whilst cleaning it with a cotton swab or tissue. steviej

  20. Keep the alloys, you don't want the chromes on in the PA winters. Use your alloys for that with dedicated snow tires or a good set of all-seasons. Go aftermarket on the chromes. There are plenty of choices. If you like the Lexus style chrome rim, you can get them online for $375 each, sans tires though. steviej

  23. no, I was saying $250 EACH was a decent price. Not all four!. Your original post didn't make it clear that the $250 quote was for the entire set. By the way, you actually have 5, check you spare. The warn sign is your current warning level. If you break the forum rules and guidelines (I trust you have read them, :whistles: ) then a moderator or administrator can restrict you posting ability. This is shown to you in the warn area. If you are at 0%, then you have no warnings. Keep in mind you warn level is only visible to you, moderators and administrators. Other members can not other members levels. Read this thread. steviej
  24. Switch to a different station, does the song title change? or is this consistent for all preset stations? Manually tune in a different station, does it pull up the song title now? Make sure it is in fact your radio and not the station. Find another vehicle with this radio capability and see if it is in fact the station. Try this too: Using the manual dial wheel, move away from the station and back to it. Kind alike refind the station manually. Does the song title update? If so reprogram the button to the station you just retuned. steviej
  25. Considering the 16" alloys go for $210 (set of 4 for $810) online and the 17" chromes go for $375 each online, I would say that $250 is a fair price for your 17" alloys. Just out of curiosity, how many miles do you have on them right now? steviej
