  1. rumor has it, the IS will be offered in a two door convertible version. steviej
  2. seriously do not consider a removable leather or pleather bra like LeBra. These can dull the paint and even scratch the paint if there is any dirt or moisture under the actual bra. If you are looking for paint protection from rock chips then seriously consider the 3M type clear bra. Your dealer should have details or any high end detailing shop. steviej
  3. sorry dude....all fixed. bring it baby!!!!! we got some awesome beaches and trails to take that Subi 4wheelin'.........ok all-wheelin'. steviej
  4. mine was done in July of 03. I scheduled it in June but my service manager said I had to wait three weeks until the new pads and rotors were released into inventory. The TSB does have an -02 date so it did come out in 2002. I don't know what to say now. good luck Al. steviej
  5. and before you do, you will read the rules of this site thoroughly about selling any item or even offering a group buy. Right?......of course you will. steviej ES/IS Forum Moderator
  6. check out the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, they are a little cheaper than the MXV4s but same michie quality. Traction seems a little better in the rain (my 02 ES compared to a friends 03 ES). Can't give any say on snow, sorry. They are very smooth and very quiet. steviej
  7. So now I can add "Brenden" to my TRAITOR list. You get to sit right next to Johnny Damon. :whistles: :P enjoy the Subi my friend. steviej
  8. I don't see why not. You are still under warranty and the TSB covers 02-03 ES. Just tell them that you are experiencing pulsing when you apply the brakes after riding on the highway. The TSB number is BR002-02 steviej
  9. I put in 02066 (Boston area) and got 6 Premium packages "plus extras" ranging from $3,365 to $7,174. what's in the UL package? steviej
  10. ask the service guy what % of pads are left. I looked back at my records, on my 15K mile service they noted I had 80% pad left. Subsequently, I had my front pads changed out at 24,000 due to a TSB. At that time they are about 50% gone. The pads that were put on as part of that TSB are still on and I am at 74,500 miles. The rear pads are original. I know that they are both on their last 5%, so I have just bought pads and rotors to do the entire job all at once. All pads are Toyota brand. steviej ps, I change out the ac filter once a year anyway.
  11. sorry guys, so as to not create confusion in the 07ES thread, I moved the M45 discussion to a new thread. steviej
  12. pre-gapped or not, I always check them. You never know what happened in the store room, in transit or with the initial gapping. I don't trust blind faith and it only takes a second to check. steviej
  13. as much as I would like to go look, I need not tease myself. I am still too much satisfied with my current ES. The new tires made it new all over again. I like my wood interior, soft leather and the car is me. Steve, it is funny you mentioned a Taurus. That was my first impression when I saw the pictures posted up in the initial thread. Kind of hard to remove first impressions. As much as I love bright new shiny things, I have to keep telling myself "no more car payment" in a year. So the bright shiny thing in my future is a cottage at the beach on Cape Cod. steviej
  14. mine did that too for a very short time after is was installed. I think it is/was a protective coating that came off when I washed it with windex and then with this awesome aerosol spray glass cleaner that I get a NAPA store nearby. I forget the name of it right now, but it is awesome stuff. steviej
  15. I actually read somewhere (I think it was on this site in 2003 just before I bought my Zuki) that Toyota and Yamaha are actually somehow connected corporately. steviej
  16. which was discussed in the Engine Flush thread. Stop confusing me. steviej
  17. I get 22-24 mpg around town and 28-30 on straight out highway. Nothing special other than car is maintained regularly, tires at 32 all round, synthetic oil, no jack rabbit starts or constantly gunning it. Non-Lexus ways to save gas money. I try to combine all my errands and trips so there is no unnecessary travel. The weather is getting nicer so the motorcycle is coming out, that will save me some gas money. I have started carpooling with some people I routinely commute with on the boat, so now we all ride together to the boat. steviej
  18. In 1981, I was in the 11th grade and remember paying $0.55 per gallon. If everyone kicked in a buck, 4 of us could cruise the strip at Nantasket beach all night. i just showed my age. sorry. steviej
  19. the answer is yes, Yyou can go to an H tire, you can even go to a T rated tire. But what are you willing to give up? Each level down gives up more cornering stability, increases noise, decreases smoothness, etc. I went to an H rated Dunlop Sport A2 and they were ok. They got very noisy at 20,000 miles. They got swapped for a set of Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (v rated though) and so far they are far superior. They were also $25 less than the Energy MXV4 Plus. Consider them. A friend of mine has the Bridgestone LS-H (H for H rated) and loves them. I considered them, but my tire guy can't sell those particular Bridgies so I went with the Michies. good luck. steviej ps: this has been moved to the tire and wheel seciton.
  20. Send a bill to your radiator mechanic for $90. That is what the Lexus Diagnostic Fee would have been had you taken it in. nice snooping. I love that kinda crap. steviej
  21. abrarcool for kicks and giggles, just go to Autozone and have the code pulled from the ECU memory. It may be stored there for a while. The scan tool may be able to retrieve it. That way we will all know what it was and we can stop guessing. It's worth a try and it is FREE. steviej
  22. I use RainX and it works great. I find RainX to cut the life of my wiper blades in half. Chemical reaction....I don't know. I am trying Aquapel on the next warm day. I too had to have my windshield replaced two years ago. The replacement was Pilkington, and no problems whatsoever. steviej
  23. I was going to do the same, but found the same dilemna. The sockets on the 02-04 don't fit the holders on the 05-06 light buckets. You would have to swap them. Plus the 05 buckets call for 1 less bulb than the 02-24 buckets so you would have a bulb loose behind the bucket. There was a member, I can't remember if it was here or on CL, that has done it successfully and it looks good but did require some manipulation of the wiring. I settled for a simple solution of using silver bulbs on my 02 to remove the fried egg appearance of the 02 tails. They look good in the front too. steviej
  24. aaaahhhhhh, I don't know. I like the style of the wheel, but I am not crazy about the two tone. If the lip and the spokes were all the same color or all chrome then I would be more moved by them. I like the older style SC430 wheel (2002-2004) on an ES better. sorry, just my opinion. steviej
  25. If you want help on this one, you got to better explain what you mean by a "turning noise" is. steviej
