  1. Unfortunately, Borla does not make a custom fit for the ES. steviej
  2. that'll do it. The system was telling the caliper to constantly close. replace the sensor. steviej
  3. Bill, All hope is not lost. Check out this company as I have heard good things about them from several members. They can incorporate wood into your current wheel. American-Stitches steviej
  4. Are they chrome, alloy or painted rims. If metal is missing, then a complete repair is probably out of the question. However, I have had to do the following to one of my chrome rims and one of my alloys: The rough edges can be lightly sanded and hopefully made to blend in a little, then a layer of clear coat can be put on to prevent further rusting or discoloration. steviej
  5. steering wheel swaps are usually avoided as well as the air bags are not interchangable. I did read of one thread where they did swap wheels but opted to deactivate/omit the airbag. (poor decision in my opinion). steviej
  6. Check with the dealer or 1-800-25-LEXUS since your car is still under original warranty they may cover it under warranty or at least meet you half way. steviej
  7. maybe you will get more responces in the audio/video/electronics forum. I will move it there. steviej
  8. save the $300 and don't park under that tree. steviej
  9. I clicked the link and got the infamous error page "This page cannont be displayed". wonder if it was shut down or pulled. steviej
  10. I was going to say that it should be covered under warranty if the car is in fact a 2006. However, there was no ES300 in 2006 and 41k is alot of miles for a car less than a year old. what year is it really? new shells can be had on ebay and they come in many colors. other than that SW covered your options. steviej
  11. Eric Cheung and chadmg7: do you go through automated car washes and have clear coat protectant or the like applied? steviej
  12. "the front bank" meaning the bank of cylinders by the radiator, if so then that is bank 2. you had your mechanic replace the wrong sensor. steviej
  13. might consider it if the site would learn how to spell tire. :whistles: steviej
  14. he needs to get the ABS codes read to find out where in the system the trouble code originating and then start with that. steviej
  15. which O2 sensor did he replace? maybe he mixed up his banks. melhadri, you posted your O2 sensor was Bank 1 Sensor 1. That is the one between the engine and firewall before the cat. Milehigh's post was for Bank 2 sensor 1, same position but opposite bank or cylinders. steviej
  16. I was always told that the fuel in the tank acts as a cooling mechanism for the fuel pump, too. Therefore it is best if the fuel pump is always immersed, hence, not letting the tank go below a quarter. steviej
  17. you got me on this one, Jim. I just went through the shop manual for the 02 and there are plenty of pages of diagnostic flowcharts, but not one mentions blinking lights. Check the fuses and the wiring harness to that door. Try moving the window or applying pressure to the window while you hit the switch. It may be a Lexus diagnostic thing as an OBDII scan tool may have to be hooked to that door's ECU as well as the body ECU. steviej
  18. stop with the gorgeous pictures..............i want to trade now. steviej
  19. It makes the car go. So when I want to come to a stop at a traffic light, I should take the key out of the ignition? :P You only take your key out of the ignition when you go for your daily dose of Latte at Starbucks. Alan, Lexucan is in Canada so it will have to be Tim Hortons instead. :P
  20. Are the indicator lights on each switch on or off? Make sure the square button (window lock switch) on the driver's door panel is in the up position. If this button accidentally got pushed and is in the down position, only the driver's window works. The click sound is internal to each switch so it may be misleading. Check your fuses, too. steviej
  21. I have always maintained "if you want it done right and you can do it yourself........then do it yourself" steviej
  22. unless Lexus comes out with an AWD ES400h. steviej
  23. go to Autozone. They will load test your battery and check out your charging system for free. steviej
  24. they also come on automatically when you go in a tunnel, parking garage or down a very shady street (I don't mean like in the "wrong element" :whistles: ) which can be annoying at times. between my lights being in AUTO and my wipers being on rain delay; I don't have to remember to do or not do anything. steviej
