  1. Anyone cured the steering VGRS issue? - LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club - Lexus Owners Club You should scan for more specific information, if possible.
  2. I like it. We bought our Bamboo Pearl RX during a time when there weren't many around. Belore long, there were many RX350s and 400hs with the same color. Today, this color is fairly rare on the street. We still love it and it has held up well, except on top of the side-view mirrors. There is a Lexus Nori Green that is getting popular but really, greens have been fairly rare over the last 10 years. The vast majority of vehicles are painted white, black, silver, gray, red, and a dark gray. Darker colors and silver seemed to be damaged by UV after 6-10 years but perhaps paints have become more resistant to constant exposure.
  3. That's great news, Twan. Where did you find the replacement motor? I used to do brake servicing in our garage but decided to have them done by professionals as I got older. And since our frequency of driving is reduced, the need for brake service is widely spaced. I still change engine and transmission oils, as well as air filters, myself. I would say that the bulk of our driving is on the highway, now that we are mostly retired. Historically our average with all-wheel drive has been 25-27 MPG, so your fuel mileage appears to be exceptional. Is it mostly city (stop & go) driving? At the time we bought our RX400h, the non-hybrid versions were RX330s which were averaging about 19 MPG, city/highway.
  4. For about $314 + tax and shipping, KYBs struts are available for your Rx300 2003 LEXUS RX300 3.0L V6 Strut | RockAuto Labor should be about $900 for a total of $1200 or so if you buy the struts. To get a labor estimate, enter your vehicle and required service information and zip code at: www.yourmechanic.com They break down the parts and labor costs. I don't know which brand of parts they use but if you were to use their service, you can ask that and whether they would allow you to supply the parts.
  5. Take a look at post # 3 in this link and then download the cleaning procedure by clicking on it.
  6. Did you do this, yourself or have a Lexus or Toyota certified mechanic do it? Since our first brake job was required at about 120,000 miles, I spent the money to have the dealership do it. They've been perfect ever since.
  7. Have you checked junk yards? You can always conduct a search on Bing and Google to see if something turns up.
  8. You can take it to most auto parts stores for a free OBD II code check. The person doing this should be able to tell you what any codes mean. They can also erase the code after the failed part (if any) is replaced.
  9. I thought there was a recall concerning this. You should be able to check, here: Lookup Safety Recalls & Service Campaigns (toyota.com)
  10. I believe my search turned up empty, also. Fortunately, your car should be good for many more years.👍
  11. I was thinking more of the o2 sensor(s). A malfunctioning thermostat that is stuck closed would cause overheating, whereas a stuck open thermostat would probably not cause drivability issues after the engine is up to operating speed.
  12. Could it be a faulty O2 sensor? If it causes the engine to run rich, that would be a problem after the engine is warmed up.
  13. This may be of help, but no models or years are mentioned: How To Reset Your Lexus Airbag Module (prestigelexus.com)
  14. Usually when starting is intermittent, its either the ignition switch or the starter solenoid, but it could also be an intermittent wire/cable connection. Auto-Electric shops specialize in tracking down electrical issues with which mechanics have a hard time.
  15. Are you referring to the front lip or the side of the car? Try entering the parking lot at an angle and at a slower speed.

  17. Typically, the dash lights would work if the battery is good and the ignition switch is good. Can you check to see that the starter is receiving voltage from the switch?
  18. If you can charge it to full charge, check the voltage at the battery while it is running. It should be up to at least 13.5 volts or so. If it's lower than that, your alternator may be bad. If the alternator is doing okay, then you can do an amp draw test with a multimeter.

  20. How old is your battery? Have you reseated the gas cap?
  21. Wouldn't the alarm be an effective deterrent?
  22. Our son spilled battery acid on our front passenger carpet mat, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Sometimes certain damage or stains are impossible to fix.
