  1. Yes, Dan's 450H F-Sport does have an upgraded suspension, I believe, but the larger aspect ratio of 18-inch tires will certainly make a difference on rough surfaces.
  2. According to tirerack.com, you can go as small as 18-inch wheels and tires. 235/65/18 instead of what you have: 235/55/20 Wheels for 2019 Lexus RX 450h F Sport (tirerack.com) 18-inch wheels Tire Search Results (tirerack.com) 18-inch tires You may want to call them and verify that the 18-inch wheels will clear the brake calipers. The larger the tire's aspect ratio, the softer the ride, so the 18-inch tires and wheels, with a 65 aspect ratio will be softer-riding than your existing 55 aspect ratio 20-inch tires. The 18-inch tires will be .71-inch smaller in diameter which make your speed reading look a bit higher than it is. If you have any questions, give Tirerack a call at 1-888-541-1777 888-541-1777
  3. So you brought the vehicle to the shop before you purchased it, confirmed that there is a difference in corner height, then you went ahead and purchased the vehicle? Is that an accurate sequence of events? Or did you have the vehicle inspected after you purchased it? Did a private seller sell you the vehicle, or was it a dealer? Assuming it was a private seller, I would call the dealership and speak with the service manager about your options. Perhaps they'd give you a discount for the replacement spring.
  4. Hi, Katrina. How many months had passed since the last change?
  5. Unfortunately, gone are the days of $200 side view mirrors unless they are purchased from an auto salvage yard. I'm not sure if even an auto body shop would attempt to repair the mirror assembly by replacing only the housing.
  6. I always start with reviewing the maintenance manual for the specific vehicle in which I am interested. Then, I call the owner to query how well he or she followed the schedule. Are there any receipts if the work was done, externally? What repair work, if any, outside of maintenance was required. If I am satisfied by the answers, I schedule a test drive and inspection. It's never a bad idea to have a service shop perform an inspection and advise of any necessary repairs. All fluids and any leaks should be checked as part of the inspection. Also, verify that the rear floor in front of the back seats did not consistently have objects placed in that location. One service advisor told me that blocking access to air flow in that area could lead to a shortened battery life. Our RX400h is now 18 years old with 136,000+ miles on it and it is still performing well.
  7. So the sound occurred on the day after you picked up your vehicle? My guess is that they missed something when putting everything back together. Yes, I would bring t back. By the way, what else did they do for $5600? That's at least double what I've seen in various posts. You can sometimes save hundreds of dollars by taking your Lexus to a Toyota dealership.
  8. Last year, I hired an auto-locksmith to program a fob. The difference is that They supplied the fob and then did the programming. The only downside is that the fob they had did not have a trunk release button. Other than that, the fob worked perfectly. When you hire a locksmith, it is always good to first ask if they've done work with your generation vehicle. Don't accept, "Well we've never done this with that particular model, but it shouldn't be a problem."
  9. What is very odd is that of the thousands of Consumer Reports subscribers and CT200h owners who complete annual surveys, there are no reports about this issue. As far as the engine reliability goes, every year from 2012 to 2016, with the exception of 2014 had a "much better than average" rating. The 2012 model year's engine reliability was rated as average. If you've ever watched "The Car Care Nut" videos, you'd see that many oil issues are caused by owners who do not follow the maintenance schedule. Typically when buying a used vehicle that is more than 5 years old, owner maintenance history is major factor as to how reliable the vehicle will be in subsequent years.
  10. You should know at what mileage and/or interval the changes need to be made. Maybe you can buy a maintenance schedule booklet on Amazon or Ebay. An auto parts store can tell you the fluid type that is needed, but I'm not sure they will tell you the number of quarts that are required.
  11. Have you called any of the local glass installation shops? Or were intending to install it, yourself?
  12. If you're a Costco member, first check out www.costcoauto.com You can receive prearranged pricing when you buy from an approved dealership.
  13. I do not at this time, but I'll see if I can find out where it is.
  14. Hello, James. This is also recommended: Repairing or replacing wiring harness or connectors that leads to the brake switch or circuit Sometimes vibration will cause a wire/connector electrical connection to be intermittent.
  15. Hello, Sue. That's a beautiful car! Congrats. Have you reviewed this instruction video? iTeachLexus How To Set Audio Presets FM, AM, Satellite Radio 2016 Lexus Models - Bing video
  16. Hello, Toni. Do you have a factory service manual and maintenance schedule? Those would list what is required and the types of fluids and lubricants to use.
  17. Hello, Carla. This is the classic way to locate battery drain: How to Find a Parasitic Battery Drain: 11 Steps (with Pictures) (wikihow.com) If you can't do this, yourself, you may want to ask someone who is familiar with the tools required to complete the test. Or you can bring the car to an "Auto Electric" shop or independent mechanic/shop. Good luck!
  18. Did you get to talk with the Crutchfield folks? They are typically very knowledgeable about their products and installation specifics.
  19. Here's some reading that may include one or more reasons for the wander: Curing Steering Wander (popularmechanics.com)
  20. Based upon your description, I'd guess that something is loose or badly worn. I recommend taking it to a shop that is experienced working on older vehicles. For something like this, I'd take our RX to a trusted alignment shop.
  21. Thanks, Richard.👍
  22. So releasing the brake eliminates the shudder? If the brake booster is leaking, that loss of vacuum could cause issues.
  23. The OEM parts shops are also good places to check. (link above)
  24. How many miles are on the transfer case? I wonder if you can get one out of a low-mileage GX 470 at a scrap yard.
  25. Hello, Boti. Did the dianosis come from an independent shop mechanic? Who did the work? If that mechanic did the work, I'd take my vehicle back to him and demand that he fix the problem, once and for all. If you did the work, you may want to consider getting a diagnosis and quote from a Toyota dealership whose technician(s) have experience doing this type of service, previously.
