  1. Please no!!!!!!!!!! LOL I'm all down with aftermarket rims, but the spinning rotating jobs look ghetto as hell. They look at home on something garish and flashy, like a Navigator or a Escalade, but way out of place on something classy and understated like a Lexus. (my opinion, of course)
  2. The #2 Sealant and Glaze is a good product, but it wont remove swirl marks, just fills them in.
  3. Thats what I'm afraid of, they added oil to the transmission... You're probably going to have to get it towed to a mechanic, there's only so much we can tell you, and only so much you can check on yourself.
  4. There's a product called "Plexus" that does a great job of maintaining clean headlamp lanses.
  5. i think you'll be able to get them off. Have you tried a bug and tar remover? Try something along those lines as well.
  6. I dont know how much better the Lexus will do lol. I'd try Uhaul for a hitch though.
  7. You can, but with the price Lexus will charge you for the parts you could buy much better aftermarket components.
  8. My opinion is also don't do it, but I was going to keep quiet lol. You also have to keep in mind that the ES is a unibody vehicle, not a full frame like an SUV or a truck, or even a Lincoln Town Car. When you tow with one of these vehicles the stress is spread out all through the frame. A car like an ES is not good for towing because the force is regulated to the area of the unit body the towing occurs from, the direct rear. The car's just not designed for it. I'd reccomend that if you forsee towing as an important need you consider getting into another vehicle. Even an RX300 is no good for towing because its a unitbody.
  9. No its not the gas, even if it were it wouldn't just reset after refilling, the issue would have to work itself out. I agree, take it to Autozone and have the code read.
  10. Heh, suppose I heard wrong. I'd go check mine, but its out in the car lol. You can actually get a decent hitch at UHaul, they'll install it and everything.
  11. The deep crystal paint cleaner? That is probably just not strong enough. Try and get your hands on something like Meguars Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0 #9, or Meguiars ScratchX and see what that removes. Those products are abrasive and they'll have a better shot at removing the staining.
  12. No, its not nearly abrasive enough. You're probably not going to be able to REMOVE the swirl marks with anything by hand. You can use a product like a glaze to fill them in, but within a wash or two they'll be back. They're scratches in the paint, the only way to remove them is to remove paint around them to level the surface off. In order to remove them you're going to need an abrasive, like a Swirl Mark Remover or something even stronger possibly, an orbital polisher with a cutting pad or a rotary polisher possibly. Difficult to do by hand, not impossible, but difficult. Think about it this way, there's reasons people pay professional detailers. If the "3 step system" just wiped stuff like that out...
  13. Naa, just use Woolite 6:1, a good leather cleaner like Lexol (or equivelent) and a good conditioner like Zymol or Leatherique, Hide Food etc and you'll be fine. No reason to pay so much for "Coach" leather cleaner.
  14. There are settings the dealer can alter called "C-BEST" settings, I'm sure this warning beep is changeable through the C-BEST system. if your dealer doesn't know how to do THAT, I would reccomend you not service the vehicle there.
  15. I dont see any way the dealership could have hidden that, it must have just happened. Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do yourself. Try a swirl remover on the scratches. I'd take it to a Paintless Dent Removal place for an estimate.
  16. Are you sure its 2000 pounds? I thought the max for all Lexus cars was 1000.
  17. Yeah, they're not dangerous or anything, just a marginal performer, especially for the price. Think of them as the Saturn of tires lol.
  18. Hey, welcome to the club! Glad you've been enjoying it so far. We've got some great new features and resources in the works for our members, so soon it'll be even better!
  19. Any scratches or just a dent?
  20. It depends on the Potenza model. The Potenza RE92 tires that come stock on some ES300s are really lackluster, plenty of cheaper and better tires out there for the money. There are literally probably 40 different Potenza models though.
  21. Its possible that he's just confused about the MSRP. Inform him that you're concerned about the fact that the price he quoted you being $1500 off MSRP means the 04 will actually be several thousand dollars less at sticker than the 03 when they're equipped the same, and that you'd heard there would be an increase. Get the actual dollar price and equipment in writing, just an email is fine. Tell him you want the equipment and colors that you want, and any surprises will loose him your business. Also make sure the deposit is 100% REFUNDABLE at any time. I ordered mine and the guy almost really screwed me over. Luckily I had another saleswoman who knew the guy was going to screw me over, so she ordered me a car knowing I'd come back to her. The sales guy ordered the wrong color. I had told him that any surprises would loose him my business, and it did. Also most lexus dealers are flexible when talking about the amount down, I used $500. And they'll even just refund that when the car comes in, or they'll apply it to theprice as a down payment
  22. Whats the exact name of the cleaner. Its possible something stronger might take it out.
  23. With proper care it will last, but if uncared for, sits out in the sun all the time etc, it'll die fast like all other paint. Once it starts, its like a cancer, keeps spreading.
  24. Yep, its being discussed now in this thread as we speak: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=ST&f=7&t=1276&
