  1. Yes, from what I can see Lexus deserves the praise that it recieves from moguls like JD Power. My dad says he'll always drive a Lexus, and that anything else, even 6 figure Mercedes feel cheap compared to it. I agree, I think its a beautiful car, an incredibly well designed and refined car, very reliable with great service, and they're reasonably priced compared to the competition. I see no reason to buy anything else. I talk to people just as satisfied all the time. Of course, any company that puts out a product can't please everyone. What dont you like about your Lexus? Did you buy it new?
  2. Dealer here has one with over 500k, still going strong.
  3. I agree with VMF.
  4. Thanks in advance! lol
  5. Nope, they surprised us and included about $1700 worth of options as standard, lowering the price. yeah I Paid about $34.5, $5k off MSRP. couldn't have gotten into an 04 for that cash right now anyways. Makes me sleep better LOL.
  6. Whenever the VSC system operates, you'll see the light flash. I have seen/felt it operate, it works very well, very subtle and unobtrusive. If the light didnt flash you'd never even know.
  7. The Rain X wont help. Thats just normal pitting of the glass, happens to every car as it ages. It wouldnt have gotten you any more bargaining power because its normal wear and tear. Only way to get rid of it is to replace the glass.
  8. Well, you can argue one car is better then the other until everyone winds up shooting each other and not get anywhere. Everyone has different preferences.
  9. My fiance hits me if I do something chivalrous. lol
  10. It shouldn't... Try switching gas brands...
  11. sure, but keep in mind that those parts are a flat black while the touchup is a gloss.
  12. Its a place to start lol...
  13. The retractor in the b pillar needs to be replaced. Pretty common, my Explorer has the same problem but its not worth the $$ to fix it.
  14. LOL. You know those spot free rinses? Thats all that is, distilled water.
  15. Try changing the type and grade of gas. What are you currently using?
  16. I believe it would start with 2, it will say "2T" as opposed to "JT" The "T" stands for Toyota. The US is "1" Mexico is "3"
  17. I'm 110% satisfied with my Lexus, and my father is 110% satisfied with his and is about to replace it with a new one. The vast majority of Lexus owners are satisfied as the surverys say. What has you unsatisfied?
  18. If you look to the left of the steering wheel down beneath the air vent between the trunk release and the fuel door release theres a keyhole inside a button, try putting the master key in there and turning it. Thats the valet lockout. If thats not it then the lock cylinder must be jammed.
  19. It could be plenty of things that THEY caused. It could be the rim out of round like m2pc says. This would show up on the balancing machine though. They can also compensate for it with balancing weights, not a big deal. My Explorer has had a bent rim for 100,000 miles, when its balanced right its not a problem. When the previous owner had the wheels balanced he may have compensated for this, and Sears wasn't sharp enough to see. You also should have a full sized spare, you can use that instead of the out of round wheel. It could be that they overtorqued the lug nuts, or torqued them unevenly. This can cause warpage of the wheel seat and a vibration. Like m2pc says, they could have mounted the tires wrong, or a tire itself may be out of round. This would mean they'd be liable for replacements. But its THEIR job to find out what they did.
  20. Not if you find somebody good to service it. Amanda, was the car purchased from a Lexus dealer certified? What you need to do is go around and visit some good independent mechanics, talk to the owners, when you find a place that feels good, use it. Dont use places like Sears, or even the Toyota dealership. You need a good independent mechanic.
  21. If they say that tell them to take the new tires off, and put a set of trash tires on and you'll take your business elsewhere. If they dont want to do that, inform them that you will be contacting corporate Sears, the Better Business Bureau, and your personal lawyer. Be tough with these guys! When you walk in, tell the guy at the counter: "You mounted new tires on my Lexus yesterday (or whenever), and now I am experiencing a vibration that I did not experience before, may I talk to the manager." When the manager comes out "Hello sir, I am (insert your name here and shake his hand), your shop put new tires on my Lexus and now I'm experiencing a vibration problem that I had not experienced before. Here are the keys and the wheel lock, its parked out front, I'd appreciate if you could make it ride like it did before I brought it here, I'll be in the waiting room" Then, walk off and go wait in the waiting room. Stay in control, these guys only get you when THEY gain control, which they never should do. For what its worth, I believe that Sears offers lifetime rotation and balancing on the tires they sell. I only bought tires from Sears once for my dad's LS400 and I'll never do it again. Every week he or I had to take it back over for a balance, they never did do it right. Maybe they'll clear it up though. And about the alignment. While its probably not causing the vibration, I do reccomend that you let them do a full 4 wheel alignment whenever they install new tires. Just because tires are a big investment, the alignment is most likely off at least a little and an alignment helps promote good tire wear. If the guy comes out and says some bleep about it being the alignment inform him "The only way it could be the alignment is if you all caused it to be misaligned when you installed the tires, because when I brought it in here it was straight, so if you want to do an alignment its going to have to either be free, or we're going to have to split it" If he doesn't want to do an alignment, inform him that you'll take your car and your keys and the rest of your business elsewhere. Also inform him that he'll be contacted by his regional manager and the Better Business Bureau for the purpose of greivance mediation. Stay firm, dont buy their crap. Don't get angry but dont get happy either. Be indifferent, you dont care what they say or think, you just want them to do the work right. As for the Lexus dealer, no you dont have to service it at the Lexus dealer, but you dont want to service it at a place like Sears either. You want to find a GOOD independent shop somewhere with an owner and mechanics that care about you and their work. Easy to find.
  22. Well if I decide to upgrade to chrome wheels they'll be plenty of them out there LOL. I've only seen 2 or 3 ever with chrome wheels.
  23. I've heard some bad wear issues with the A2s, and I myself had wear issues with a set of Dunlop tires once. I doubt that the H rating has anything to do with it, plenty of cars heavier than the LS come with H rated or less from the factory.
  24. Yeah none of the newer cars have keyholes on the passenger door. Pretty soon there wont be one on the driver's either LOL
