  1. Nice man! The black LS430 with the chrome wheels is a great looking sedan. Get the ride issues all worked out? What year LS400 did you trade from?
  2. Yes it does look like the car will come down in price $1500, because leather seating and the memory system will now be standard, with the standard price being the same. So you're getting $1500 or so of stuff for free. There are to be no styling or color changes whatsoever. If you get an ES330 badge, nobody'd be the wiser.
  3. I think AutoZone does it for free...
  4. You'll have to call the Lexus dealer and ask, its a PITA to find out the color code for the lower panels...
  5. Teflon and Silicone both are nonos, and this product has them BOTH, so I'd definately stay away from it. Much better with a polymer sealant like Klasse etc.
  6. Its definately one of the best glass cleaners out there
  7. The GS is going to be similar to the IS. If you haven't had problems driving the IS in the rain, then you wont have problems with the GS either.
  8. Welcome to the club! Yep, everything you need to know is in the 02/03 ES transmission thread. if its not in there, then ask in that thread. I'm going to lock this one to keep the info together ;)
  9. So its an oil additive? Eh I wouldn't. Generally they're just snake oils. Think about it this way, if it made the oil better, it would be in the oil already.
  10. The Villager isn't a Ford, its a Nissan lol. All it is is a rebadged Nissan Quest.
  11. Always happens that way. Good luck, keep us posted.
  12. No problem, glad I could help!
  13. I always figured luggage wasn't important to them lol.
  14. Good idea to keep the information together.
  15. Issue is though, he said that he was helping them out by paying them to do the job, you can't get water from a dry stone... I totally agree though, if they're your friends you can reach an agreement with them.
  16. Keep us posted!
  17. Mine are new, but I've used Novus to polish my Explorer's lights, and the Plexus maintains it well. Mike, I also put the Poorboys on the lights. Amanda, what did you use to polish the lamps that clouds back up again so fast?
  18. There's lots of different techniques, some just use the brush, some use toothpicks and paint thinner etc etc. I just got one of these: www.autosharppen.com And found it MUCH easier and much better looking than using touch up paint out of the bottle. If you do want to use the bottle though, I've just always used the brush that comes with it, make sure there's no excess and fill in the ship carefully. Afterwards, polish the area, Never looks great, but better than the chip. The Pen works really well though.
  19. The motor mounts are a common problem. As is unbalanced wheels, or even an unbalanced driveshaft.
  20. My opinion is, if it hasn't bothered you yet, then it wont bother you ever. Its just that your driving style fits within the way the transmission shift geometry works. I'm the same way, doesn't bother me so I'm not going to have it done.
  21. Definately a learning experience though, I never let anyone do any type of repair or touch my car in any way, not to wash it, move it, change the oil etc that I can't come after if they do it wrong. Your buds may have caused real (and real expensive) damage, and there's nothing you can do to prove they did it. I dont even trust myself to do it, because if I screw up, then its my !Removed!. If even a gas station screws up, then I can take them to court. Does it shift right yet? There's any number of things that could have already happened to the tranny. Look for the transmission dipstick, it's opposite the oil dipstick on mine.
  22. I agree with JPI, they probably didnt button it all up correctly. Common. All dealers are independent, and the service you recieve varies greatly. I would definately never return to the dealership that sent you packing, except to make them fix the problem. if they wont, call the General Manager of the dealership, or Lexus corporate. Tell the next Lexus dealer you go to that you've come over from Blah Blah Lexus because they wont repair your car right, they'll treat you extra well to get your business. Car dealers make MUCH more on service then on sales. Thats what I do, I help car dealers stay connected to their customers and make them feel cared for, like part of the family so they'll return for service. Dealers pay me enough to drive a Lexus just to help them do that.
  23. Yep, thats too high. Did you clean off the dipstick, then stick it back in and take another reading?
  24. Welcome to the site! My advice, if you dont notice the problem, you wont. I've driven my ES at least 100 times in the mixing bowl (the area she's speaking of for people not from around here) and its never let me down. Like I've said, I can make the car hesitate if I want to, but it has never come up in my normal driving. I'm not having the reprogram done.
  25. Any other Lexus dealerships in the area?
