  1. :D i had the same noise and it turned out to be the honeycomb inside of the cat......funny tho, i still pass emissions with flying colors!
  2. dude most AutoZones and pepboys have motor mounts, plus aftermarket it designed better, the OEM ones are designed to screw up. give them a call, they are relatively cheap
  3. well when its really summer hot outside, and especially if you just started it, it can take a good minute or two to get to the coldness that it is set on. but for like 50 bux u can get the unit charged up. a whole flush costs a bit more but that hopefully isnt nessicary
  4. theres a button in ther glovebox to shut it off!?!?! Damn, that s*** is whack ill check in the morning when there is more light THANKS!
  5. <_< OK! NOW IM *BLEEP*ED! the button on my door that pops the trunk is broken so now whenever i need to open it, i have to use the key. my fuel door opener works (which is in the same cluster).....any suggestions (1992 ES300) THANKS!
  6. OK! the alternator is allright, i checked it today at autozone. they said it may be the ground wire. i looked down at it and it looks like it is connected to the chassis with like a male/female joint thing. anyone know if that is the problem or could it just be loose?
  7. To SW03ES: yes there is a heatshield i believe. i havent thouroughly investigated yet bc my jacks are too damn tall. im gonna bring it to school, they have a lift :D I will check for that loose honeycomb. I'll post the results when they happen ;) Thanks for the help guys (possible gals too :magic: )
  8. ok....here is my problem. when ever i accelerate, especially b4 the engine is at operating temp, i hear a rattle of metal. the guy i bought the car from claimed that it was the heatshield on the header, but i dont think it is. i got under the car and noticed that it came from where the header pipe hits the CAT....is there a gasket or something down there? i hope its not too costly, bc right now i need to save for a timing belt replacement! THANKS!
  9. yea that spot is awesome. my dad just got his Xm in that same spot on his Evolution. he got one with a remote that has a display so that eliminates the unsafe factor. Wiring looks like its gonna take some fabrication tho.
  10. Ok,...i think that i will bring her to AutoZone tommorrow morning and let them check the readings, they have the whole nine yards when it comes to equipment. And ill see from there. Thanks everyone., for the help!
  11. :chairshot: So im driving home from work the other night and i noticed that when ever i hit the brakes, the headlights and display in the stereo would dim. Please tell me its a bad Batt., i plan to go to AutoZone to check the alternator but i couldnt replace one of those myself, and its a bleep in the pocket. Any suggestions? Thanks Guys!
  12. its a 92 Dark Sapphire (black-blue) with 200K on it, and still purring. Ima sand it off this November and get it resprayed in December. But I need $600 first.
  13. So my baby is going all snake like on me and shedding its skin, only problem is, I CANT AFFORD A NEW COAT. So does anyone know the best way to attempt to camoflage the damage, and most importantly, keep it from spreading? THANKS!
  14. <_< Hey guys, I'm new here. I read a little bit here and can tell that help is on this domain. I will do my best to give a little engine expertise, but thats about all i can offer. Ok. My first question. My 1992 ES300 has some dirty headlights. Problem is, all of the debris and dirt is internal. I can't afford new fixtures right now, so I would like to have them look decent for a bit longer until I have the $$$. So has anyone ever performed such an operation on headlights? THANKS!
