  1. Actually, a bad salesman. A good car salesman is supposed to move whats on his lot first, he should have offered you a great price on whatever he had. Unless *gasp* he actually WANTS you to get what you want and be happy... Car salesmen everywhere shudder lol. Actually this is why most Lexus dealers hire people who aren't career car salesmen to sell their cars, because of the stereotypical cheesy sleazy guy who just wants the money...
  2. I was on the highway last night for a hundred miles, merging with semis, accelerating to sprints at 90 for passing trucks, I still feel no hesitation and no power loss, it seems to drive perfectly, I dont even really think it needs any more power... I guess I'm just lucky...
  3. You can get $200 for referring people to Lexus? Wow, I should have made enough by now to pay for the car LOL. Believe it or not, I took those pictures today after a fresh wash, we came back from a trip yesterday and it was covered in bugs, and there was a torrential storm tonight. Luckily she was sleeping warm and cozy in the garage. I had Spaghetti O's and Carla had cereal for dinner so I wouldnt have to get it dirty driving to a restaurant or a grocery store LOL. Speed, I'll take good care of it for ya, and how about this, I wont drive much? ;) Thanks for the compliments guys!
  4. I'd also like to know if the list of changes sound accurate...
  5. Thanks, here's one more, just for Matt.
  6. You do, higher octane in the cold would be advisable. Also, thats a change in the recent manuals, all the 02 and prior cars the manual specified premium. Mine sais it requires regular, but use premium for better performance. I use premium.
  7. I have a bulging herniated disk as well in my back, yes the seats of the GS are NOT designed well for people who have similar back problems to ours. I can drive my ES for hours, or my dad's LS, but I test drove a GS and I was in pain after a 20 minute test drive. It was one huge deciding factor for the ES. Unfortunately I dont know of much you can do.
  8. It all depends on how you drive it. If you're heavy on the brakes, then they're going to go much more quickly. My dad doesnt even get 20k out of a set of brakes on his LS. You also have to keep in mind that the LS is somewhat heavier than the SC, makes a difference too. $600 is reasonable for a brake job from Lexus though.
  9. The new ES is a little stark in black I think because its monotoned, and it doesnt have a chrome strip running around the beltline like the GS and LS do it makes it a little stark. Everyone I've talked to likes it in the garnet more than the black. Lexus also has "Black Cherry" which comes on the GS and LS, and its more purple, not quite as good looking IMHO. The Black Garnet is only availiable on the ES.
  10. The new ES comes in a straight black too like yours bbsal.
  11. The lights have taken me the longest to get used to, but I like them now. I wanted silver originally because it hides those lights, but the ball and chain wanted the garnet. It is a gorgeous color, one of the richest colors on the road I think. Thanks for the compliments guys!
  12. We just got back from out of town, and we had a rear passenger with us this time, and he commented that there wasn't a lot of air coming out of the rear vents when they're opened all the way. I felt back there and he's right, its nothing compared to the vents in the front, I hadn't noticed this before. Is everyone else's air this weak, or is there an obstruction or something in mine?
  13. Nope, "Black Garnet Pearl" it looks black until the sun hits it, then it turns a deep metallic purple. The color for some reason doesn't photograph well, its actually 3 or 4 shades darker than it looks. The color in the gallery that is the icon for the ES gallery is the same color. The one thats my avatar isn't my lexus, but its the same color. I guess that the guy who took it parked it so there was no light hitting it, so it looks darker.
  14. Here ya go: Theres a couple more in the gallery.
  15. Well finally I got around to getting some pics takes of the Lexus, check em out and tell me what you think?
  16. I was at Lexus of Annapolis MD on Wed., they've had no models, and aren't sure when they'll be in but it wont be until closer to October. Oh and Bob, look around in this forum there's lots of pictures of the 04 LS430 that I posted.
  17. No reason to if you're not using a sealant. The cleaner wax will remove whatevers on there. Dawn washing in only important to ensure proper bonding of the sealant.
  18. No, you dont want to microfiber dry unless you've washed the vehicle. Rinsing can't remove ALL contaminants and rinsing, then drying the vehicle can cause scratching. You can rinse, then just drive and not dry...
  19. But not quite enough? ;) LOL just kidding, as did I (on both counts, enjoy it and learned a lot)
  20. Problem was, both of us had a bad day lol. No hard feelings here either. I'm right outside of Washington. D.C.
  21. Yeah thats a good place to start. The Scrath X is supposed to be a great spot action product although I've never tried it.
  22. This is definately a new picture, but I wouldn't depend on it yet. Its similar to a photoshopped ES pic we've seen before.
  23. Looks great!
