  1. I am also experiencing the same transmission problem. I have talked to two service managers in two different dealerships and a Lexus rep, but getting unsatisfortory and conflicting explanations from them. I am getting tired of chasing them for a good answer and giving up. I also notice a degradation of fuel consumtion since the application of the TSB. I am also getting around 15L/100Km (some time even worse) - not good at all compared to the old RX330. Another thing is that immediately following I took my vehecle for the first service, everything worked perfectly and the transmission was very smooth. However, the good only lasted less than a couple of week. If it is a design issue, how come the transimission would suddenly go smoothly for a few days after something is done to the vehicle and then go back to rough transmission again after???!!!
  2. It doesn't seem to me that the transmission problem is just a little idiosyncrasy; otherwise Lexus wouldn't have released a TSB for it. Unfortunately, the Lexus hasn't done a good job in fixing the problem outright. (Please note that I'm blaming Lexus but not the dealership). Just my 2 cents.
  3. I felt happy for you that your shifting problem has been fixed. Did your dealer explain why the first time did not work? In my case, I had my vehichle updated with the TSB, and then for a few days the shifting went smoothly, but unfortunately the problem resurfaced again a few days later. It certainly gives me hope to hear success stories that the problem might be resolved by applying the TSB twice.
  4. Anyone know how to reset the ECM of RX330 without going to a dealership?
  5. I notice a similar problem with my rx330 as well. Since I can hear the noise only occasionally, I have not taken my vehicle to dealership to check out. Besides this problem, have you noticed transmission hesitation when driving at slow speed? The hard-shifting/transmission hesitation problem that I am experiencing with my vehicle are driving me mad. I wonder if the two are related.
  6. JP, A question that is not related to the current thread of discussion. Do you know where the Mass Air Flow sensor and the A/F sensor are located in the RX330 model? If I suspect something may have gone wrong with the sensors, what and how should I check to see if they are okay? Thanks for your help in advance.
  7. Tried changing fuel brand but it didn't fix the lagging and abrupt shifting problems. I brought the car back to the dealer to check it up and they updated some software (that what they told me) but unfortunately that didn't solve my problem either. The dealer just said there was not much they could do as every parts of the car are controlled by computer chips. Now I am really concerned... my new RX330 just does not feel like a lexus (with a V6 engine) with the acceleration problem that I am having.
  8. I always use octane 91 graded gas. Although I did rust proof on my car recently, I wouldn't have thought that would be the cause to the problem.
  9. I believe the Japanese edition will have a vehicle id. no. starting with JT. I'm not so sure about the canadian edition, its id. will probably start with the digit "2" or "3".
  10. I've noticed a sudden loss of performance of my new rx330 recently. I now have to step on the gas pedal to get it to go from 0 to 40 mph, whereas before all I needed was just to touch the gas pedal. The car is also not as smooth as before when it changes gear as it picks up speed. Now I can hear and feel the gear change. The engine speed reading seems ok as it never go above 3000. Any ideas? :( ?
