  1. I believe the RX330 comes with apower hatch that can be opened with the key, but not the RX300. You'll have to open it manually like a 5th door.
  2. Lexus is like that with their package options. The cars all come a certain way and unless you want to do a special order you have to take what you get.
  3. The Leatherique and the Lexol are really two very different products. The Leatherique is for restoring the leather, the Lexol isn't at all powerful enough for that. The Lexol is more for maintaining properly cared for leather.
  4. The wood veneer in the interior is basically clearcoated like the paint on the car. So actually you can use any product on the wood that you would use on the paint. What have you tried so far? I would reccomend you try and purchase the trio of Novus plastic restoration products, work through the steps (you can order online or get a nice tiny set at your local Container Store) and see what you have.
  5. I'm going to guess its a rear strut...
  6. Sorry I missed out on the replies we were out of town lol. The "switch" was a fix devised by a Lexus owner who was as frustrated as you are. Its just a standard electrical switch ( I think he mounted it under the armrest) and he himself spliced all the wires to make it work. He wrote an article about it, I'll find it. As for the home address it can be changed in the menu screen... As for the voice activation, my nav isn't voice operated so I have no opinion there.
  7. Its another Lexus forum
  8. Mine are the same way, I've been told they're just crappy tires...
  9. The Novus is MUCH more effective than the Meguiars, the Megs isn't strong enough. I really reccomend the Meguiars. The bad news is if its Armor All overspray you may not be able to remove it, you may have to replace the lens (not a real big deal). Armor All used to be silicone based, and it used to stain the hell out of optically clear plastic. Actually, Armor All was reformulated a year or so ago, and its a great product now, water based. I use it on tires. Its not harmful like it used to be.
  10. Believe it or not, things like that happen a lot, especially in the winter.
  11. That may be normal...
  12. Problem is the price is really dependent on the area you're shopping in. Especially in the winter with an AWD vehicle... Check out www.edmunds.com they have a true market value feature, take 1-2k off of that and you'll have what they sell for HERE, but we have 6 dealerships within 20 miles so they really compete for customers. Great for the Lexus customer. Where are you located?
  13. Thats about what I get...
  14. I believe you can when the vehicle is in park.
  15. Also really common around here. People with a lot of money and a car is just something like a breifcase to them. I try to live by what my father always told me, he'd drive a dirty beat up car as soon as he'd go to work in a stained and ripped up suit. I mean, these people should pay the $10 an run it through a carwash once a month, it'd be an improvement. See it all the time, S class benz, LS's, 7 series that have never seen a wash since they were new. Some even with the temporary tags still on that look like hell. As a matter of fact on Autopia I was chatting with some of the professional detailers and we were talking about S class Benzes and how they always seem to be the dirtiest and nastiest cars they have to detail. They know they have their work cut out for them when they see one on the day's agenda. I have to agree, almost every S CLass Benz around here is dirty and beat up, even the brand new ones. They're often driven by rich wives.
  16. Maybe mine will too lol, I hate to let them remove the door panel...
  17. Believe it or not, I found a semi-reasonable Lexus dealer with a labor rate of only $80 an hour...
  18. My mileage is about the same as my dad gets on his LS. On the new ES the gas mileage advatages of the V6 are negated by the low power to weight ratio. The GS makes a great daily driver, it all depends on what you're looking for, what kind of situations you commonly drive in (snow etc). The GS is not the most reliable of Lexuses. It doesnt win initial quality or dependability comparisons like the ES and LS do, its very reliable though nonetheless, I would get the newest one you can afford, they got more reliable with every year, I'd stay away from a 98.
  19. Wait to see it in person ;) They already banned somebody over at CL about it They get so worked up over everything, no respect for each others opinions...
  20. My dealership will pickup regardless of the distance... When it gets warm the rattle will go away ;)
  21. Works fine for me... Try clearing out your cookies.
  22. I'm just reading them all flaming each other about it over at CL lol. Not surprised they generally dont like it over there. The more and more I see it I like it. Can't wait to see one in person.
  23. As a matter of fact, I really like it. You can see the coupe influence on it. I can see the old SC in the front lights, the current SC in the doors, the greenhouse is very unique, a real head turner and the best part THEY DIDN'T RIP ANYONE OFF! Go Lexus, like the ES and the IS, it can turly be called an original design. As a matter of fact, depending on how it drives it may get me out of my car in 2007 instead of the LS. I love the interior very fresh and new, sporty but elegant. I think the Nissan influence is the other way around. I see a lot of Lexus in the new Nissans, so it would stand to reason that this new model would resemble a Nissan. Also bear in mind that Lexus vehicles ALWAYS look better in person than in photographs.
  24. Very sharp! Good maturing of the current style without departing too much, can't wait to drive one.
  25. Really no reason to trade the car in, the rattle is easily fixed. Will your dealer do pickup dropoff?
