  1. That and people will forget they can get a refund for the warranty or sell the car before the warranty is up transferring it to the new owner...
  2. Welcome and congrats! My money is on the balance too...
  3. I dunno, something about the solidity of a 3 series BMW that just isn't quite there in anything else. Compared to the GS, did you drive the Infiniti M? Much more car than the GS IMHO...
  4. Make sure the volume is turned up on the iPhone itself...
  5. Mine is full of well organized things, and I have absolutely no problems... The console is REALLY deep...a CD box wouldn't get near the door mechanism unless the box was full of junk.
  6. The thresholds for the system might be too far away as well. In my experience bad sensors cause intermittent false readings...
  7. I'd do www.mylexparts.com... I'd bet money the struts are not the problem though. The struts are very robust.
  8. Happy new year to you as well!
  9. Welcome to the site. Sorry about your issue, but I think that you are probably out of luck on this one. What is one's definition of "fully loaded"? And with a lot of Toyota/Lexus models its actually impossible to buy a car with *every* option unless its a custom order. Its a case of he said/she said as to what was represented to you verbally, and what opportunities you would have had to go over the equipment that was on the specific car you were buying. To me...its a HUGE purchase and deserves more than a cursory examination before signing on the dotted line and plunking over the better part of $100,000...
  10. Looks great! Yeah the guy that owns Vais is a REALLY great guy. The kind of guy that really makes you feel good to be doing business with...
  11. The ES is kindnof a weird car sisewise...you're right the other cars in its class are a lot smaller. The 5 series is so damned expensive!
  12. What did I say? I never said I didn't believe you...in fact I 100% believe you, if the engine goes 35,000 miles without oil changes and is neglected...it can sludge. You're blaming BMW for a post I didn't even make. You mention the 99 Camry, that's a completely different situation. That engine does have a sludging problem...the issue here is that you have an LS with the 4.3 liter V8. If you had a 99-01 ES we wouldn't be surprised, but you don't. Like others have said, your childish tirade has shown us your true intentions though. Good luck with your car. Thread closed.
  13. Handling, the big wide tires and wheels give it good stable handling...
  14. From the other side of the pond? Its been a long time since I've heard someone refer to license plates as number plates ;) You can buy the OEM mounting kit from www.sewellpartsonline.com. Hope that helps!
  15. Ifnyou order them on eBay make sure they are for the model you own and that they are new...otherwise it may be impossible for the dealer to program them...
  16. That's two people.. The sort of people you find on forums don't really tell you much about the actual owner population either. Trust me, I've owned these cars for 8 years. When you see one at a stoplight look at the driver. I VERY rarely see one driven by someone younger than 60. It's a boulevard cruiser. Most people who want the GS but can't afford one land in an IS, not an ES. In general Lexus isn't a performance car company. They are trying to change that, but BMW, Audi, Infiniti get the performance buyers far more than Lexus.
  17. Some dealers may take care of it for you, it just depends on the dealer and it depends on what kind of relationship they have with you. It's one of those times when having a good business relationship with a dealer really helps.
  18. No shortage of owners...where? I've been a member here for 8 years...obviously you've found some pocket of owners here in 4 days that I've missed ;) Theres a very small aftermarket demand for this car, just look around...no tuners really provide support for the ES because there isn't any demand. The average age of an ES owner is like 55... I believe Jim's tires are just on the stock wheels.
  19. A TSB is simply a bulletin to instruct the dealers how to repair certain items if they should come up on a customer's vehicle. They aren't recalls...so they'll do it...just not for free. I'd find an independent mechanic familiar with Lexus vehicles...
  20. All excellent observations...
  21. Nice! Looks like they did a good job! Yeah the new Kias are nice, Hyundai's influence.
  22. LOL...funny...
  23. I think his are 235s... The issue may be more the much more performance oriented tires he went with though. Does your ES have the Bridgestone or the Michelin tires?
  24. Issue is...the service records you've got have a big gaping hole in them...its not a question of you being told one thing and not another...you've got the records and the issue is right there. I don't think anybody really screwed you here. You say you paid next to nothing for it...and you got what you paid for.
