I'm going to move this into the ES350 section. Believe it or not...Lexus has relaxed that lockout for this generation. You can do far more while in motion than you used to be able to do, but entering destinations when driving is not one of them. You can select from your memory destinations, and your previous destinations, thats an upgrade you used to be able to just use the 5 presets at the bottom of the screen. The voice inputs don't work, but have you tried using eDestination through the Enform service? You can call into the concierge and they will input the destination and send it to the car...

As someone who has known nc for years, I can tell you that you are wrong. This is an open forum and his viewpoint is just as welcome here as yours...perhaps moreso due to his long and distinguished time here as a member...calling him a "anykindaphobe" is completely out of line. The LS is on a 6 year cycle. So it was introduced in 2007, had a refresh for 2010...unchanged for 2011, should be unchanged for 2012, and all new for 2013. So if you buy a 2011 now you should be okay until fall of 2012 when the 2013 comes out. Thing to remember is there will always be something new out...if you like the LS...get it...there will always be something new on the horizon to wait for.

There's not much of a difference between the 4.0 in the LS400 and the 4.3 in the LS430. If you google "LS400 oil sludge" you come up with responses pretty similar to what you find when you google "LS430 oil sludge". In a car where the oil was changed every 5k miles as per directed by the service manual, given my experience with these vehicles and the long time I've been around them...I just don't buy that you'd have catastrophic oil sludge.

Do you have oil change records for the first 30,000 miles before you owned it? What do "regular" oil changes mean to you? Just did the Google search that you spoke of, a few hits but nothing significant and all at high mileage. No class action lawsuit, thats for a different Toyota motor.

There were a couple differences in 05 and 06, mostly package differences, halfway through 05 the 18" wheels came standard. Visually they're the same though.

I love the new Grand Cherokee. I'd buy it in an instant if she would let me trade the Prius. I'll work on her...

We've been thinking about trading the Prius in on an SUV...I went and drove the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and the new Ford Explorer. I had a very annoying Ford salesman (man...you really do slum it when you go down to a non-luxury brand in the dealer network). We were driving the Explorer, drove it around the block. He asked me what my wife drove...told her a Prius. He asked me what I drove...told him a Lexus. He looks at me and says "Shame on you, how can you drive foreign cars and put Americans out of work?" Now...this guy could barely speak english... I put the car in park and told him that I worked hard for my living and bought what I wanted, and if Ford and GM could build a car that wasn't a complete peice of !Removed! and lost 70% of its value in 3 years, serviced and sold by dealership personnel who could put a complete sentence together and didn't look like they belonged working in a shipyard...I'd be happy to drive one. Got out of the Explorer...got in my Lexus...and drove away LOL

Again we're not talking about taking away people's rights, we're talking about making it much harder to get a permit to be able to purchase and own a handgun or other more serious gun. I'm not even talking about hunting rifles.

You can't really take away guns that are out there in people's possession already, and you're right, changing the laws about carrying guns won't stop criminals. If you made it harder to buy handguns though, you would make it harder for people like that yahoo who freaked out on you to get their hands on them. If you look at other countries that restrict the purchase and ownership of guns...like the UK...the proof is in the pudding, gun related deaths per capita are MUCH lower than they are here. You can't really compare drug related or alcohol related deaths to gun related deaths. The first two are accidental, for instance getting drunk and driving around in a car trying to run over somebody is a lousy way to plan to murder someone. You don't in a fit of rage get drunk and drive your car into someone, you don't in a fit of passion get drunk and try to drive over the guy sleeping with your wife. But...if you have a gun or access to a gun... For instance I think the punishment for drunk driving needs to be far, far more severe. I don't think people convicted of drunk driving twice should ever get behind the wheel of a car again as long as they live, personally. The two are totally separate things.

Man you do drive it hard. I get 22 MPG city, and 30-32 on the highway and I wouldn't consider myself an easy driver...

So far, no issues here. The 2011 is exactly the same engine, if you can run regular in it you can run regular on the 2010.

Your statement though that it "left a bad taste in your mouth" and that you are going to look elsewhere implies that you're still assigning blame though. The lesson to be learned here needs to be learned by you, this is a huge purchase. Take 10 minutes and compare the equipment on the window sticker to the equipment you want before signing the papers.

Or simply look at the vehicle you're spending almost $100,000 for to make sure it has what you want. No sympathy for you at all from me, sorry.

I used to feel the same way, but its not as simple as that. Obviously you eek out a small performance gain using premium fuel (hence why they had to reduce the HP ratings for 2011 vs 2010). but do you HAVE to run premium fuel? Its the same engine as in the Camry...runs regular fuel. Same engine as the 2011...exactly the same...runs regular fuel. So...it stands to reason you should be able to run regular fuel on the 2010. I've been a long time supporter of using premium fuel, but since this news came out...I've been running regular with absolutely no problem. Only a fool spends money on nothing...and apparently on this vehicle, spending money on premium fuel is spending money on nothing.

One volcano does more damage than man all at once, but that doesn't mean that over time the damage done by Man doesn't add up to significant damage. No government funding because Big Oil lobbyists keep these initiatives from being funded. No funding = no innovation. Thats what I'm saying...they really don't. For true scientists the science is whats important.

They are good tires in that they are quiet and smooth, its just that those particular Michelins aren't great in the snow traction department.
