  1. No hack exists...
  2. I've heard too many quality issues with Kumho tires to ever put them on one of my cars. They're cheap, but often you get what you pay for.
  3. They're not as rare as you think, a lot of sellers just don't know what they have. For instance for a low mileage 2002 Ultra you'd be overpaying at 27k.
  4. Yeah it was $2.99 for high test in Bethesda the other day...
  5. You're going to want to use a genuine update disc to update the nav....thats your issue.
  6. In-credible work on a very cool car. What I find so fascinating about those cars, look at the button facings and type, and the digital displays...its so hard to believe that car is 30 years old!
  7. It would have a control wheel on the console. It doesn't have AVS, it was very rare.
  8. I will add that a good audio shop can take the dash apart and put it back together just as well as the factory. Those guys know how to do it to these cars in their sleep, they've done it so many times. I was worried about that too when I had my Sirius/iPod adapter installed but they did a great job, totally rattle free many years later...
  9. Mine has 125k now, had it since new. Its been very reliable... I'm 6'0 and have no problems with headroom, I do feel that the car is significantly roomier inside than the previous car...
  10. Your scenario is a little convoluted. What does any of that stuff have to do with paying for the gas you use in the loaner?!? But yes, I would understand that I purchased a computer from a place that is far from my home and I would understand that I need to bring it to them for repair during the times they are open for business. It honestly would never occur to me that would be an issue. For one, the dealership is open on the weekend. I'm sure if you told them you could only drop the car off on Saturday and pick it up the following saturday they would do that and leave you in the loaner for the week...my dealer would do that. I've dropped my car off and its needed warranty repairs and they have told me to take the loaner on a trip. Also, like I said if you explained the situation to the dealer I bet they would have come and picked it up for you and dropped off the loaner. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Did you even talk to the dealer to see ways in which they could accomodate you? In any event, if you didn't have time to stop for 5 minutes and get gas, just let the dealer charge you for the gas. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. Or maybe next time you should buy a car with a dealer thats closer to your home if this is such an imposition.
  11. Interesting, I've always heard that once you insert a new disc the older disc will no longer operate...
  12. Yeah the Millenium silver was available on the 00 Platinum edition, and then on the LS430 until 2004, the alpine silver was available alongside it on the standard car in 2000. The alpine silver is much nicer.
  13. Yeah I wouldn't sell it. 81k miles is nothing on a Lexus, and its not even really high miles for an 05, thats 20k a year which isn't terrible. I'd drive that car until 2015 at least... But if you are selling it. $20k or so.
  14. I have been looking around at these cars and you got a good deal considering its from a Lexus dealer. Enjoy!
  15. I'd agree with Jim and Wes. It sounds like that LS has had a hard life, and $15k is not a stellar deal, keep looking. These cars will remain fabulous for many many years and hundreds of thousands of miles. However, when maintenance has been deferred they can be VERY expensive to bring back to good condition.
  16. Whats the difference? Either I buy leather conditioner or I buy vinyl conditioner, and leather conditioner leaves a nice soft feel and a leathery smell while vinyl conditioner smells like chemicals and leaves everything slimy and slippery. I guess my point is, what is your point? The use of leather cleaners (I use woolite too) and conditioners leaves the seats softer and better looking over the long term so who cares whether its soaking into any leather or not?
  17. I see them...I just not have the energy or interest to take pictures and post them on the forum...sorry. I suspect thats the issue with everyone else too.
  18. Thats what I thought, that the buttons are different on the RX300. So its possible it can be programmed on the 300, but not the 330 or 350.
  19. You mean the extending bottom on the UL ES350? Because the seat in the ES300/330 is 10 way also... My guess is that seat will be very hard to find in a junkyard and it will be abhorantly expensive from the dealer. I think you'll find the ES330's seats are great....
  20. I think you're wrong. The key on the 99 was the same key, I don't think theres a button for them to reprogram to make the windows roll up. If you hold the lock button down the panic alarm goes off... I don't see the purpose anyways. I never park the car with the windows down...
  21. Disposal is a valid concern, however I would rather know that if my wife goes to start it up on the first 10 degree day its going to start...
  22. Yep, its true.
  23. Those wipes are garbage. Lexol is a good product, so is Leatherique. Do a search in the detailing forum, I'm going to move this there. While its true the leather is coated, that doesn't mean it doesn't benefit from regular cleaning and conditioning. It just simply doesn't "absorb" things like hide food...
  24. Your car is 20 years old though, anything within 10 years I wouldn't paint if I could help it... Painting it will increase the value of your car...
