  1. dc, yeah the more I look at that briarwood the more I like it. There is one in my neighborhood I saw driving in the other day. Its pretty rare and from what I understand not in huge demand, hopefully that means I can get a better deal on one that color. Everybody wants silver, white & green. blake, I'm certainly not going to concentrate on CPO, if the right car happens to be CPO and I can get it to the right price then I would buy it, but otherwise as long as its within the factory warranty I would just buy an extended warranty. Yeah silver on black is always what I thought I wanted on my next car, but the silver is so common and for some reason I'm really liking the light interior on these cars. Plus I don't care for the wood stain color on these cars with black...My dad's is flint mica with black but his is a UL car that has the antiqued walnut trim which I like more. I don't want to pigeon-hole myself into only looking for a CL or UL car though.
  2. Very nice! My only problem with the Cyclo is its so large...
  3. If you like the Zaino you can apply this right over the Zaino...
  4. Its no cheaper at Toyota I don't think... But yes, you need the OEM pink long life coolant. Any issues with the cooling system and they find non-OEM coolant in there it will void the warranty. Not worth it.
  5. The panoramic roof is a part of the ES350's Ultra Luxury package and is fairly common. I do remember the RX having a laser cruise option but it was always special order. The ES350 has a radar cruise option which is also always special order. That RX is a very rare vehicle. It would be abhorently expensive to install I'm sure...impossible.
  6. Actually go into the Warranty forum on here, theres a guy by the name of Toby Rivers who sells genuine Lexus warranties at deeper discounts than that... I'll echo what the above poster said, you don't have to buy it now. You can buy it all the way up to the expiration of the factory 4 year 50k mile warranty. I had it on mine (its expired now) and it was worthwhile, it is an extension of the factory bumper to bumper warranty.
  7. More real life advice. You can't afford a $700 car payment. Quite honestly at a montly income of $1600...you can just afford rent of $700 a month. If you use a rubric that your housing costs should be 35% of your gross monthly income, 35% of $1600 is $560. $700 is 44%. You absolutely cannot afford a car payment of that amount IMHO...and you will be much happier and have an easier life without that big obligation around your neck every month. One thing you'll learn about life...EVERYTHING winds up costing more than you think it will. Plenty of time left to drive a Lexus ;) Quite honestly...I don't know what your dad's deal is...He wants you, his new-to-adult-life son to take over $700 a month payments and give him $2,000 (which I'm sure is a lot of money to you right now) for him to put down on a new Mercedes? And this benefits you how?
  8. I just noticed the dealer has it listed as "Flint Grey" which is not the color, my dad's is Flint Grey and its a dark grey color, this car is Briarwood Pearl which is a metallic brown color... Yeah really...they sell some nice stuff huh?
  9. Yeah I have a genuine Lexus coat hanger that attaches to the headrest posts of the driver's seat. Works much better than the coat hook. Search the net for it, came from japan and cost about $125 but its in matching leather and very attractive. Thats why its the relentless PURSUIT of perfection. Perfection is something that can never be obtained. Someone somewhere decided lights>coat hook
  10. I got your email as well, I'll respond here. Look around the detailing forum. If you aren't interested in doing it yourself I would take that $1,000 and hire a professional detailer to wash your vehicle weekly, and to protect it quarterly. It will probably cost you $25 a week or so for the wash, $150 on the quarters its protected, and $250 to get it started the first time, polish it out, shampoo the interior etc. You'll have a MUCH better cared for car than this stuff from the dealer will give you, and you won't ever have to even think about it. If you want to try some or all of it yourself, everything you need to know is in the detailing forum ;)
  11. I definately want something thats easier to keep clean than what I've got. Since I've decided that I want the tan interior this time that limits me to that color, the light green or white. I like the green, but its almost exactly the same color as the Prius...I like the white too but its kinda "boca raton".
  12. Normally I really prefer OEM glass...however on a car that old I wouldn't pay $1,000 for a windshield...just be sure you get a good, distortion free peice.
  13. Thats certainly not the case about Mercedes. A Lexus *is* a glorified Toyota, thats a fact. What we disagree about is whether or not thats a bad thing.
  14. Yep...thats what did it LOL. What do your guys think of this color combo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Lexus-...A1%7C240%3A1308 I kind of want something a little different. I've had the dark interior for a long time now, and I like the look of the cream interior on the LS. I've admired this color and its a little bit different...As a matter of fact that car is a beauty, but its an '04 and its overpriced...
  15. '05s still command in the upper 20k range, I think this one is cheaper because of the mileage...
  16. Its called orange peel actually, its a byproduct of the painting process on many cars. Only way to deal with it is to wetsand the finish, and you'd be removing paint and thinning the overall paint layer. Not worth it.
  17. Believe it...the '07 has a coat hook but they replaced it in '08 with a light.
  18. SW03ES

    Rust

Its just surface rust. The brake rotors and hubs will display some surface rust and actually the culprit is moisure when the car is sitting, which it did a lot of on route to being purchased by you. You can actually clean it off if you want to, but it won't hurt anything.
  19. As long as it fixes it. If they warp again within 10k miles though I would make them replace the rotors.
  20. Best price you're going to find is $260 at www.sewellparts.com
  21. probably 200 - 225 per Then I would buy the Primacy MXV4...
  22. Why thank you. No carseat for a while lol
  23. That depends on what you are looking for out of the way a car drives. For me the LS is a much better car to drive because I'm more interested in a smooth & quiet ride than excellent handling.
