Why Michelin Drop Primacy™ Mxv4® For V Rate?

I would reccomend the Primacy in H rated. Thats what I have on my car. No idea why they dropped it in V... -
How Do I Clean/protect Inside Car?
SW03ES replied to eli2k's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
First of all you have to realize what the materials are in the car. The seating surfaces, the steering wheel, and the shifter knob are leather. The rest is vinyl or plastic. The wood is actually real wood, its genuine california walnut. You can actually strip it, re-stain it, and refinish it... If you want something that will work well on everything Meguiars makes a product called Quik Interior Detailer that works well. It won't deep clean everything though. For the leather I reccomend a mixture of Woolite:Water 1:6. -
Wax Gone Wrong (black 03 Es300)
SW03ES replied to blackonyxES300's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Clay is the founding block of any detailing regimen. Without clay, the surface is never going to be properly prepped. No offense to the guy and the store, but you've got two professional detailers here and several very knowledgeable enthusiasts telling you clay is neccisary. His comment that clay should be a last resort makes no sense at all... I'm glad it worked out, but we're not a lot of help to you if you won't give our suggestions a shot. Josh, are you using the liquid or the paste? With the liquid I agree, but my experience with all paste waxes leads me to believe that drying=bad. I've never used NXT in a Paste but I've used other Meguiars paste waxes and this was certainly the case. -
Well it wasn't a problem because you didnt lie about your income when you got the Alt-A mortgage, and neither did I. I don't disagree with you, but the banks are not innocent in all of this, not hardly. The issue goes on too with them witholding credit putting small, medium, and large companies out of business, hiking credit card rates, these banks have been fleecing the American taxpayer for years. Time will tell, I don't think it will backfire personally. I don't see a lot of demand out there for a President who wants to be big banks' buddy. I think everybody's a little shell shocked by this guy actually *doing* the things he said he was going to do. He campaigned on the promise that he would: 1. Work to enact swift rescue for the economy 2. Take a firm hand with banks and work to put an end to business practices that are abusive to the American consumer 3. Cut taxes for middle class Americans 4. Take steps to restore and heal America's reputation with the world 5. Open up new dialogues with old enemies 6. Start down the road looking at forms of renewable energy 7. Start down the road exploring workable solutions to the American healthcare crisis. Well, I'll be darned in his for 95 days he's made a lot of progress in pretty much every one of those areas. In fact, IMHO, I think its hard to believe he's only been in office 3 months. I like that, action. We haven't had that in a *long* time. Thats what Americans are reacting to

Many Lexus and other premium vehicles are corporate lease vehicles. If it has maintenance records I wouldn't really worry about it...

Am I missing missing something? Generally if the gauge is on E and the engine sputters and acts starved for gas...its because the car has run out of gas.

He certainly wasn't banned... Hasn't logged on since the end of Feb...

But he's right! You mean the titans that greenlighted the irresponsible banking practices that started this mess and needed billions in bailout money to keep their banks afloat? Come on. I like it, we don't need to woo these folks. IMHO these banks need to start wooing us a little. The attitude in the banking industry needs a correction, I'm happy none of my taxpayer money went to provide them refreshments and they can sit on the private jets I paid for on the way home.

I would imagine you would be fine...

I find it fascinating how quickly people's opinions turn. I don't watch it as closely as you nc, but I just don't see the issues... Apparently neither do most since his approvals are so high. Who is the GOP going to run, Jindal? I think Obama is doing fine.

Wax Gone Wrong (black 03 Es300)
SW03ES replied to blackonyxES300's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Trust me, regardless of what the instructions might say, apply and remove paste waxes one panel at a time and don't let them dry or you'll have this problem. The Spray Wax isn't a quick detailer. Try a quick detailer and if that doesn't work a wash with dish soap (Dawn) will strip the wax away and you can start again. Also make sure you're applying wax to a clayed and polished surface, that aids in removal. -
Happy birthday! Sorry I missed it too, I keep forgetting to check this forum...

Yep, Josh and I are going to try and meet up tomorrow...not sure the work schedule will allow it yet... I know! I think of you every time I drive by that project, it really is looking great...

Wax Gone Wrong (black 03 Es300)
SW03ES replied to blackonyxES300's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
What type of towels are you using to remove the wax? NXT is tough to remove, you really should do one panel at a time and immediately remove it, my guess is you did the whole car, let it dry to a haze and then went back to remove it. Go buy a good quick detailer and give the car a good once over with that and wipe well in straight lines and the residue will come off... -
Add this forum and ClubLexus together. When you add the two of us together it represents 194,880 members and 4,599,465 posts. Thats not very tiny. The RX8 club by comparison has 53,858 and 2,738,653 posts. Thats less than our forum (not posts, but members) and far less than when you combine us and CL. So I guess there are more Lexus enthusiasts than RX8 enthusiasts? MBWorld.org the huge MB site has 108,961 members and 3,671,565 posts. I guess there are more Lexus enthusiasts than MB enthusiasts huh? Or at least as many when you factor in folks that are members here and at CL... Doesn't make sense, there are PLENTY of Lexus enthusiasts out there. Nothing upsetting about your post, but you know as well as I do what the tone and intention of the post was, and as you can see this thread is now about Lexus owners not being enthusiasts instead of who bought nc's car, meaning you hijacked the thread. The link was a suggestion that you post there...and not here if this is all we're ever going to hear from you.

He didn't hurt anything by waxing over that stuff... I think you would really benefit by investing in a machine like a Porter Cable as Josh mentioned. Your paint looks pretty good to me for a 16 year old car. Lexus black is single stage, which means it doesn't have a clearcoat. The bad thing is its really easy to scratch, but the good thing is it comes out looking great once its polished and sealed. Look around on here, read some of the threads that have been posted here and on www.autopia.org. You do want to clay the paint (plenty of writeups here). You won't be able to remove any scratches or marring by hand (your buffer trails are just hidden by the wax, they will come back). if you want to do as good a job as you can by hand I would reccomend the following: Clay (Meguiars makes a good clay so does Mothers, so does Clay Magic) A good one step wax product like Meguiars NXT 2.0, it will hide a lot of imperfections. If you want to really make the paint look as good as you can you need to invest in a machine...

I just wanted to make sure the paint cleaner went on before the #7 ;)

I think this has probably run its course...

Are we really arguing over $5? The dealer would have even driven the loaner to you and picked your car up... It just astonishes me how much people over-expect service to be... Should they come clean your house too? How about reimburse you for that soda and bag of chips you bought to consume on the ride home? Be glad you have a car from a company that recalls them before the NHTSA makes them... Preposterous.

Can you do us a favor? We know you are underwhelmed with your LS, but can you stop bringing a pall to everybody else's threads? We know you think your LS is bland and soulless, we know you're going to trade it for an RX-8. I'm tired of seeing other member's threads drug off track by this. This post serves no purpose but as flamebait and as you can tell by the responses its completely derailed the purpose of nc's thread. Every post you make is only about that. Thats not a request by the way. You're free to have your opinions, but if you can't express them without disrupting other people's threads you should hit the bricks. We've done you the courtesy of answering all your questions and helping you with your vehicle and people have been very respectful of your opinions, you need to show us the same courtesy by leaving us alone to enjoy our vehicles and our forum.
