  1. Then why did Lexus put on a trailer hitch rated to tow 3500lbs?
  2. Let me put it more clearly....I would never buy another Lexus/Toyota again! When I bought the RX400H I specifically asked whether it could tow an RV/trailer weighing less than 3500pounds. I was told by Lexus that it could (its also in their literature) and they installed a trailer hitch for me. When I tried to get a brake controller installed (as required by California law for all trailers over 1500 pounds( Lexus told me that it would void my warrantee! It seems that they would have to cut into the computer system wiring to install it. Thus, my $52,000 Lexus cannot tow! Lexus I had to cancel my order for my trailer. I would never buy another Lexus/Toyota again! Ken
  3. my inverter failed at 36k miles. The car died! The dashboard said...hybrid system failure. I had no steering, accelerator or braking. I was lucky I and my wife weren't killed. The car was towed to a Lexus dealer who gave me a loaner. After three days I got the car back. The cost to me was 0$ but the invoice said $8700. I will never buy another Toyota/Lexus. The dealer said it probably would not happen again.
  4. Can anybody tell me how to bypass the screen that comes up when I start my car that asks me to agree to all the warnings before I can get the map screen view? Also, is there a way to bypass the lock that doesn't permit entering addresses into the NAV while the car is moving? Thanks, Ken Klein 2008 RX 400H
  5. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/wiper4.htm Thank you for the link! Ken
  6. Does anybody know how they work? How do they sense to rain on the windshield? Ken
  7. The button you refer to (page 23) is in/on the side of the glove box and controls the power rear door. It has nothing to do with tire pressure. Look under the glove box and you willsee the button that relates to tire pressure. It was a very stupid place to put the button. Ken
  8. I believe you are wrong...but I will check it out later today. Maybe I believed the dealer too quickly! Ken
  9. It seems, yet again I had a tire light come on. I couldn't reset it. And all the tires had the correct pressure. There is a button on the passengers side under the glove box. If somebody accidentally pushes it the car looks for some new tired (I'm not sure what that means) and if it doesn't find them the light comes on. Why on earth did Lexus put the button there where it could be accidentally (by my wife) depressed? Ken
  10. On a recent trip the low tire pressure warning light came on. I checked all the tires and the pressures were fine. I took the car to the dealer and he said the spare tire pressure was low! Has anyone else had this experience? Ken
  11. I recently had the check engine light come on. The dealer said I must have had the car running while refeuling...which I insisted didn't happen. He reset the light. Two days later it came on again. This time they changed the feul cap. We will see if this works. The computer shouldn't be so sensitive! Ken
  12. My 2007 RX400H has a trailer package (installed by Lexus) which includes a 4 wire electrical connector. The manual states that this car can tow up to 3500pounds. I bought an RV that weighs 2500 pounds and has brakes. I contacted several Lexus dealers along with numerous RV dealers. ALL of them refuse to modify the electrical connector to a 7 pin round connector which is necessary to activate the RV's brakes. Lexus now tells me that if I get it done it will harm the hybrid computer and charging system. By the way I even went to a Toyota dealer (Highlander hybrid) and they said the same thing. I feel very mislead by Lexus. Any ideas would be appreciated. Ken
