  1. Lookin good! What was your process with the #7 and the paint cleaner?
  2. I just don't get it. You would have put gas in your car anyways, why would you expect to have free gas in the loaner? It won't cost you anything to get your vehicle repaired under the recall...its gas you would have normally used in your own vehicle...
  3. Yeah definately skip the wash...

    Lost Key

www.sewellpartsonline.com Be careful with eBay, I've heard stories of people buying used keys on eBay and then not being able to reprogram them properly to start their cars, you have to buy the right key for the right model, a key from an ES for instance won't always start an RX. Then you have to get them recut for your car... Sewell has them for like $170 and they come precut to your car and they're brand new. Thats the way I would go.
  5. Asking for pics is fine, but calling someone a liar is a totally different thing.
  6. I'm not surprised actually...
  7. This is unneccesary. People who come here and post things don't need to prove themselves to you or anyone else. Could it be spam? Sure, but it could also have happened. These things DO happen and on a car thats 18 years old there are any number of things that could have gone wrong that resulted in a fire, or it could have been set on fire... Your nasty attitude though is contrary to the community's purpose, so keep it to yourself.
  8. Mine will lock/unlock it from WAY farther away than that. 100' maybe...
  9. Dealers ALWAYS overinflate tires. I always let the air out of them on the lot before I drive off. Your nitrogen isn't nitrogen anymore lol, the dealer topped the pressure off with regular air. Not that it matters though...
  10. Its not Billy Mays' product, he's just the pitchman. But yes, a scam.
  11. Yeah #26 is a good basic wax.
  12. Why do you find it unsettling you would have to pay for gas you use in a loaner car? You'd have to pay for gas you'd use in your car. If you ask the dealer to drive you to work and drop you off and pick you back up they will do that. A loaner car is an upgrade to what you're talking about, which is a courtesy shuttle that pretty much all lower end car dealerships have. I'd much rather have my own loaner car to drive instead of waiting around on some van to come get me. As for the nav disk, the nav in the ES350 is a different company than yours, the upgrade of the maps won't change how yours calculates.
  13. She (or is it a he with a picture of a she?) just never responded.
  14. Upgrade your nav disk to the new version, v8.1, the button goes away.
  15. Lets put it this way... You'll be getting used to looking through mist ;)
  16. Now that you've posted your threads here I want to give you some feedback as to why you ran into trouble on CL I think and why I also have edited your posts here... When I read through your writeup, mentioning how people on CL wanted you to do it for them, referencing your customers' parts and how your customers can wire them up...it certainly does read to me like an advertisement. While you don't come straight out and solicit buisness it does appear from your posts that you are engaging in a business relationship with forum members as a result of your posts to the forum...and not paying for the right to do that. We simply cannot allow that, it isn't fair to the people that do pay us for the right to do business on the site. If thats not the case I apologize, but it certainly seems that way. It certainly doesn't just look like you're just showing off work you did to your own car, lets put it that way. I have edited your threads but left them in place, hopefully you understand.
  17. Its probably that your area doesn't have a lot of terrestrial repeaters. I have Sirius too and mine seems to drop out more on rainy days and in the evenings...no idea why. But the repeaters here are pretty good.
  18. What do you mean the dealer is no help? I'd take it over there and leave it there until they figure it out...
  19. Very nice! I remember someone converted a 97 to a 98-00 once but this is the first LS430 conversion I've seen. What did everything set you back?
  20. Then they can be removed. Try picking up some Meguiars Scratch X, some microfiber towels and some terrycloth towels. Use the terrycloth towel to work the Scratch X in rubbing paralell to the scratch and then use the microfibers to remove... If that doesn't work you'll need to have someone machine polish them out...
  21. Well, we ban people for good here too if they create multiple screen names to try and circumvent a ban... Just leave it alone. Your stuff looks great!
  22. I'm a real estate broker and mold is a big issue right now in real estate transactions and as such I've learned a lot about it. There are a bunch of different types of mold, only one or two that will make you as sick as the mold that effected C.L. Taylor's mother, which was probably Stachybotrys (toxic mold, black mold, etc). I've never heard of a case with that type of mold in a car. Different materials will grow different types of mold, stachybotrys grows mostly on sheetrock or drywall. There really isn't anything in a car for mold to consume to the point where you could have an extreme enough infestation to make you sick, as can happen in a house. What you get in a car is more likely a mildew or allergen mold, which can aggrivate allergies but isn't likely to hurt you. If you have mold, you have water. So if your RX is "infested with mold" C.L. Taylor, water is getting in there somewhere...
  23. A/C flush? Is it a A/C duct cleaning or is he flushing the refrigerant? My dealer reccomends the fuel induction service be done as a part of the big 90k mile service which seemed reasonable. I have never had the A/C duct system cleaned on the Lexus, but did have it done on the Prius since it sits outside and it made the A/C smell nice and fresh... Neither NEEDS to be done...
