  1. ^ Agreed! Let's see those pics & congrats on your purchase.
  2. I agree with the others.....Michelin's are an excellent choice & yes definately get an alignment when you get a new set of rubber installed. Stay clear of the dealership when purchasing tires.
  3. What size are you going with alfaderek? I may be able to help you out with the price of winter rubber. Welcome to LOC btw.
  4. Cool Steve...thanks for the info. Waiting to hear from my dealer when a 2010 hit's their lot so I can check it out & take one out for a drive.
  5. Let us know how it goes....where about's in Canada are you located ivan?
  6. I just got my ES serviced at the Lexus dealer over the weekend....unfortunately they did not have a 2010 yet.....I am going to check it out once they do have them in stock though. Steve...specifically what are the 'major' interior tweaks? Anything on the dash besides the nav?
  7. A couple more related (and inexpensive) tune up items to replace....the air filter & PCV valve. Is your tire pressure correct? Besides the spare tire & related items....any heavy stuff in your trunk? How many miles on the car?
  8. Thanks again to all! B) Josh, you have a reply B) And no.....I'm 33 now.....one foot in the grave, the other on a banana peel lol.
  9. My tranny pan is dry as a bone....and have not seen many on here with a leak for our generation ES...but glad the repair was covered. I do a simple 'drain & fill' every 2 years or 30k miles.....I use Amsoil 'Universal' Synthetic ATF which is compatible with Toyota Tyie IV fluid.....it's excellent stuff. More info here... http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/atf.aspx
  10. I appreciate it....thanks guys!! B)
  11. Chances are a quality set of 19 or 20" rims will weigh a fair bit more than your stock 17's...not to mention the added weight of your related rubber so yes there is a good chance of that due to the increased unsprung weight. All season tires are also known as '3 season tires' and for good reason (whether you live in the GTA or not).......I would suggest at the very least a set of 'all weather' tires which are different than all seasons, or a full set of quality winters on a seperate set of rims. Smart move if you want to get larger rims for those 3 seasons is cool.....keep your stock 17's for a good set of winter rubber.
  12. I would suggest Brembo blanks if they make them for your model year. Having said that if this is your first resurfacing at 43k miles......that's not bad for the OE's. Do you take your foot off the brake pedal slightly & let the car roll forward a bit at a stop light & especially after a hard stop? This will help cool them down.
  13. Steve, I too agree with replacing the ball joints along with the control arms....did your mechanic mention anything about the condition of the struts?
  14. You should be safe to do a simple tranny 'drain & fill' & replace the drain plug gasket......I wouldn't suggest a complete 'power flush' though. Throttle body cleaning should be under $100...as far as a full tune up, I'd recommend plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter & PCV valve. Once that is done, see how the car goes. B) Any idea what is wrong with the ABS system?
  15. Only thing about the new TL is that it'f got a face only a mother could love lol.
  16. The 92 should qualify. It's a shame how they 'kill' them though. :(
  17. Good to see you back branshew B) My 05 ES has everything except the nav option, but I do have the AVS suspension. Sounds like you have pretty much all other options though. Post some pics when you can.
  18. There is no 'miracle' in a bottle.....I use it to simply keep things clean as opposed to fixing a problem. Routine maintenance is key if you think you have a power/performance issue. What major service has been done on your ES recently? IE: Tune up, throttle body cleaning etc, any CEL on the dash?
  19. Changing regular maintenance parts such as a full tune up, fluid flushes etc also will help a great deal. I use a synthetic fuel system cleaner once a year to keep things clean.....but also a high quality gasoline.
  20. From CanadianDriver.com... http://www.canadiandriver.com/2009/08/13/u...0-2001-2005.htm
  21. One of my Lexus contacts said that not much on the inside except for an 'improved' center console.....but they are in the dark on specifics. So I guess no updates to the dash. :(
  22. I would add new spark plugs, an air filter & PCV valve to that list......that's a full tune up. Tire pressure is correct?
